President 11
“It’s time to sleep.” He Wang placed the little kitten on his lap.
Tang Xi instinctively stepped on the firm, slightly springy muscles beneath his paws.
The moment he realized what he was doing, his whole body flushed with embarrassment—even though, on the outside, he was still just a fluffy golden ball of fur.
[H-He… he’s not wearing pants?!]
1551 remained indifferent. [He just came out of the bathroom, and isn’t he wearing a bath towel?]
Tang Xi puffed up angrily. [That doesn’t excuse him teasing a poor little cat like this!]
Unaware that the little kitten had internally called him a scoundrel at least a dozen times, He Wang simply stroked his head soothingly when he noticed his sudden tension.
Looking at the tiny bundle of fluff, He Wang finally gave in to a long-suppressed desire. He picked up the kitten.
Then, he pressed his face against Tang Xi’s soft belly and nuzzled.
Tang Xi froze in disbelief before bursting into a frantic struggle. [1551, he sniffed me! I’m not pure anymore!]
1551 pretended to be profound. [If raising a cat isn’t for sniffing them, then what’s the point? Stop struggling—this is the fate of all little kittens.]
Tang Xi’s resistance was swiftly and mercilessly suppressed. He Wang, still wearing his usual stern expression, indulged himself in cat-sniffing until the poor kitten was left questioning his existence.
Even at bedtime, Tang Xi refused to face He Wang. Huffing, he curled up tightly with his back toward him, his tail flicking in irritation.
But as he flicked it again and again, he gradually drifted off to sleep.
Listening to the kitten’s breathing grow deep and steady, He Wang lay awake in the darkness. Slowly, he pulled the slumbering little cat into his arms…
The next morning, Tang Xi woke up sprawled on top of He Wang. Not only was he resting on the man’s shoulder, but his head was also nestled against his neck.
Tang Xi began to doubt his entire existence as a cat.
Do I really sleep this restlessly?
He carefully tried to sneak away, but the moment he moved a paw, He Wang’s eyes fluttered open.
His gaze was far too clear for someone who had just woken up. Instead of questioning why a cat was on top of him, he immediately turned the tables. “Why are you so clingy, hmm?”
“Meow…” Tang Xi had no idea what had happened last night, but he felt a little guilty. His tail swayed lightly.
He had gone to bed still angry, refusing to acknowledge He Wang, yet somehow, in his sleep, he had turned the man into his personal cushion.
Reflecting on his actions, Tang Xi decided that wasn’t very nice of him. So, he obediently nudged the man’s chin with his fluffy head.
Getting showered with cat affection first thing in the morning visibly improved He Wang’s mood.
So much so that even when one of his subordinates informed him during breakfast that he had an urgent business matter to handle, he didn’t lose his temper.
Meanwhile, Tang Xi, licking his beef sprinkled with goat milk powder, mercilessly mocked him in his head.
Hahaha, poor villain. He even has to work on weekends.
School didn’t require students to attend classes on Saturdays, though many seniors voluntarily went in for self-study.
But Tang Xi was clearly not one of those responsible students.
Happily ignoring schoolwork, he started plotting with 1551 about what fun things to do today.
1551 excitedly shared a newly installed free mini-game and generously invited Tang Xi to play together.
Unfortunately, before he could celebrate for too long, he suddenly felt his body lifted into the air.
“Meow?” What’s going on?
He Wang narrowed his eyes. “Why do I feel like you’re getting more and more eager for me to leave every day?”
Tang Xi immediately played dumb. “Meow meow meow?” What are you talking about? How could a little kitten have any bad intentions?
He Wang stared at the dishonest little kitten for a few seconds, then made a decision he had never considered before.
He was going to take the kitten to his company—keeping him under close watch.
It wasn’t until Tang Xi was nestled in the car that he finally realized what was happening.
But by then, all he could do was watch as the comfort of the luxurious mansion faded into the distance…
As a young and energetic kitten, Tang Xi sulked in the car for only a short while before getting distracted by the scenery outside.
[1551, is the villain really taking me to his company?]
1551: [Yes.]
He Wang rested a hand near the kitten, steadying him as he clung to the window, preventing any accidents.
The driver, with his expert skills, soon brought the car to a smooth stop in front of the company.
When He Wang reached out to carry the kitten out, he was unexpectedly rejected.
Tang Xi stepped onto He Wang’s arm and climbed up to his shoulder.
With a proud and commanding air, he declared, “Meow!” Let’s go!
The view from He Wang’s shoulder was much broader, and as he felt the tiny weight settle on his right side, he silently indulged the little kitten that had grown spoiled from his affection.
The moment they stepped into the company building, all movement halted. Employees immediately paused to greet their boss, but their gazes were inevitably drawn to the small kitten perched on his shoulder.
The expressions on their faces were almost identical—utter shock.
The usually cold and intimidating CEO, whose mere glance could send new employees into a panic, was suddenly accompanied by a fluffy little kitten?
Not only that—he actually brought the cat to the office?
Does being the boss mean he can just do whatever he wants?!
Yes. Yes, it does.
Despite their inner turmoil, not a single person dared to voice their thoughts out loud.
Feeling self-conscious under so many stares, Tang Xi shrank back, pressing his soft, furry body tightly against He Wang’s exposed neck.
It wasn’t until they entered the CEO’s private elevator that both the employees and Tang Xi let out a collective sigh of relief.
For the employees, it was finally their chance to whip out their phones or whisper to their coworkers about this shocking revelation—something worth gossiping about for at least a year.
For Tang Xi, it was the chance to finally relax his tensed-up little body.
Even though there were fewer people in the office on a weekend, he still wasn’t used to being stared at by so many at once.
He Wang glanced at the kitten through the elevator’s reflection, amusement still lingering in his eyes. “So bold in your little nest,” he teased. “But once you’re out, your courage shrinks.”
Tang Xi pretended not to understand, humming softly as he licked his paws.
With a soft ding, the elevator reached the top floor.
The entire top floor was practically the CEO’s domain, except for the executive assistant and secretary’s offices, along with a break room.
Assistant Wang was carrying a cup of coffee to his office when he spotted He Wang and immediately greeted him, “Good day, President He.”
Secretary Huang, completely unprepared, also greeted him reflexively, “P-President He, good day.” But the moment she caught sight of the kitten on He Wang’s shoulder, she visibly stumbled.
Assistant Wang had already met Tang Xi before, so while he was surprised that the CEO had brought the kitten to work, he didn’t overreact.
Secretary Huang, on the other hand, took a long moment to process what she had just seen—even after He Wang had entered his office and shut the door.
She finally snapped out of it and grabbed Assistant Wang’s shoulders. “The CEO actually owns a cat?!”
Adjusting his glasses, Assistant Wang replied, “Calm down. Where’s that composure you’re so proud of?”
“I always thought someone like the CEO would own a tiger or a lion, not a cat.”
“That would be illegal.”
But Secretary Huang was no longer listening. Still in a daze, she picked up her phone and opened the work group chat—the one that didn’t include the CEO.
Front Desk Sweetie on First Floor: [I’m losing my mind. I swear I must’ve traveled to a parallel universe where President He is a tough guy who owns a cat.]
Repair Tech on Second Floor: [Don’t overthink it. He’s still the same CEO who, when angry, can save the entire company a whole day’s worth of air conditioning costs.]
Don’t Ask Me to Fix Your Computer: [That’s not actually a cat, right? It’s probably some kind of advanced technology in disguise. Maybe it’s part of our company’s next big expansion.]
Adults Never Work Overtime: [!!! I wasn’t in the office today—did I miss something huge?]
Little Yellow Bee with Candy in Their Pocket: [Upstairs, you didn’t just miss something—you missed a moment worthy of going down in company history.]
That “Little Yellow Bee” was none other than Secretary Huang. Watching everyone flood the chat with shocked reactions, she felt utterly satisfied and put her phone away.
As long as I’m not the only one freaking out, that’s all that matters.
Meanwhile, just a wall away, Tang Xi had no idea how many people had been startled by his presence.
He was too busy exploring his entirely new and unfamiliar surroundings.
He Wang’s office was very spacious, not only furnished with an expensive-looking sofa and coffee table but also featuring several bookshelves filled with books and delicate-looking antiques. There was even a door that led directly to the CEO’s private lounge.
This doesn’t feel like an office at all.
His desk was positioned with its back to a huge floor-to-ceiling window. Thanks to its unique design, the lighting in the room was exceptionally good.
The moment He Wang entered, he started flipping through the files on his desk, completely unbothered as Tang Xi ran around the spacious office, happily exploring.
Despite its size, the office was mostly minimalistic. After a lap or two, Tang Xi got tired and obediently returned to the villain’s feet, tilting his head up to observe He Wang’s focused expression.
[1551, I finally understand why people say a man is most attractive when he’s serious.]
[Mhm. Uh-huh. Yeah, sure.] 1551 responded absentmindedly, too absorbed in a new game to care.
Tang Xi admired the villain’s stunningly handsome face for a little longer—until He Wang finally noticed him.
He Wang picked up the clueless little kitten staring at him from the floor and placed it on the table, handing it a plush ball. “Be good.”
Seeing the fluffy ball right in front of him, Tang Xi instinctively hugged it, then kicked it with his hind legs while playing and even gave it a nibble.
After tiring himself out, he looked at He Wang, whose expression hadn’t changed the entire time, and asked the system out of boredom: [1551, do you know what He Wang is looking at right now?]
He had expected to hear something about a business deal, but to his surprise, 1551 checked and replied: [It’s about the Xu family.]
[The Xu family? The ones who might have tampered with He Wang’s car?] Tang Xi suddenly perked up.
1551 also stopped playing games, its tone turning serious: [Yes.]
[Isn’t that a good thing? If the villain can send all those who tried to harm him to jail, that’d be great.] Tang Xi happily hugged the plush ball, which was almost the same color as him.
[But this completely deviates from the original plot. In the story, the villain was only supposed to confirm it was the Xu family at the very end. That was also a key factor in why the protagonist, Shen Chensi, was able to win against him later. But I just checked the files in his hands—he already has solid evidence.] 1551’s voice grew more and more serious.
Tang Xi didn’t react much. [As long as I’m here, I won’t let Shen Chensi and He Wang confront each other. Wouldn’t it be better if the Xu family were dealt with sooner?]
[It’s not that it’s bad… but why would he…] 1551’s voice carried an inexplicable worry.
Was this really still the same villain from the original plot…?
It still remembered how shocked it had been before—how could a villain in a beginner-level novice world have such an exceptional physical condition?
Tang Xi interrupted the system’s deep thoughts. [Maybe it’s because his legs weren’t injured, so his mentality didn’t collapse? This is what they call the butterfly effect.]
1551 thought about it and found that it did make some sense. But even if it had suspicions, it had no way to report an error to the judge without evidence. For now, it could only set aside its doubts.
Pa.
He Wang closed the folder, picked up the intercom on the table, and pressed the button. “Have they been brought in?”
“They have. The bodyguards are watching them in the third-floor conference room,” Assistant Wang’s slightly distorted voice came through the intercom.
He Wang tossed the folder onto the desk with a cold chuckle. “I’m heading over now.”
“Understood, President He.”
Tang Xi perked up warily. “Meow?” What? Where are you going?
Curiosity got the better of the little kitten, and he pawed at He Wang’s sleeve, trying to get him to take him along.
But He Wang didn’t agree. He stood up, the corner of his lips curling slightly as he lowered his voice. “I’m about to handle something that’s not suitable for little kids. Are you sure you want to come with me?”
Author’s note:
I think the readers would much rather see you and President He doing something “not suitable for little kids.” 😉
Tang Xi (cat): Meow meow meow??? 😳
He Wang: (drags him away) 😏
