President 10
“Qian!”
Ye Qian lifted his gaze from his test paper and saw his deskmate—who had mysteriously disappeared during lunch break—walking straight toward him, eyes sparkling with excitement.
Something soft in his heart was instantly poked.
“What is it?” he asked gently, looking at his slightly breathless deskmate.
“Did you see Shen Chensi? He was playing basketball just now, and he looked so cool!” Tang Xi exaggerated dramatically, his acting painfully unconvincing.
But the moment Ye Qian heard that name, his mood plummeted. He was too preoccupied with his irritation to notice how exaggerated Tang Xi’s words were.
His deskmate disappeared every lunch break… just to watch that guy play basketball?
“Skipping lunch break to play basketball? You’d have to be brain-dead to do something like that,” he muttered, not realizing the hint of jealousy in his tone.
“Hah, that’s still better than some bookworm who wastes lunch break doing practice tests in the classroom. Tsk tsk.”
A mocking voice rang out as Shen Chensi strode in through the back door, making no effort to lower his volume.
The few students chatting in the classroom immediately fell silent, startled by the school bully’s aggressive entrance.
Ye Qian didn’t hesitate. “What are you doing here? This is Class 7. Please leave.”
Shen Chensi completely ignored him, turning his attention to Tang Xi with a smirk. “What was that about basketball?”
“N-nothing.” Tang Xi stared at the floor, afraid his guilty conscience would show in his eyes.
Shen Chensi hadn’t played basketball at all today. Tang Xi had just blurted it out, assuming Ye Qian wouldn’t know any better.
Luckily, Shen Chensi had only just arrived and hadn’t heard what he’d said.
Tang Xi blinked a few times, quickly changing the subject. “So, who did you come to see?”
It has to be Ye Qian! He was sure of it. The system wasn’t lying—these two really were destined to be together!
He eagerly waited for Shen Chensi to say Ye Qian’s name, his anticipation written all over his face.
Shen Chensi noticed this and suddenly felt embarrassed. What’s with this guy? I was so harsh to him this morning, and now he’s completely forgotten about it? He’s actually happy that I’m here…
“Ahem, I took a detour to buy you a strawberry cake. Don’t you like them?” Shen Chensi said bluntly. Unlike Ye Qian, who would insist he only bought a cake because it was “on the way,” Shen Chensi openly admitted he had gone out of his way just to get it—fully expecting a reaction from Tang Xi.
The moment Tang Xi heard strawberry cake, all thoughts of matchmaking and missions flew out of his mind.
Now, there was only the delicate little box in Shen Chensi’s hands.
Shen Chensi was the type of rich young master who never lacked money, so even a last-minute cake purchase had to be from the most expensive shop nearby.
Tang Xi could already smell the sweet strawberry fragrance just from looking at the box. He stared at it longingly, practically drooling, but still obediently asked, “Why did you bring me a cake?”
Shen Chensi’s face turned a little red. “Just eat it. Why are you asking so many questions?” He was too embarrassed to admit he was apologizing.
With that, he placed the cake on the desk and left without looking back—without even giving Tang Xi the chance to refuse.
Tang Xi stared at the cake, unable to resist any longer. He reached out, opened the box, and was immediately hit with the mouthwatering scent of sweet and tangy strawberries.
“It looks so good! Qian, do you want some?” Though it pained him a little, he remembered that the school heartthrob had shared a cream cake with him before. So, he decided to return the favor and offer a small portion of his cake.
Tang Xi happily held up the little cake, intending to hand it over to Ye Qian.
Ye Qian’s smile was faintly strained. “No thanks.”
Quietly, he pushed the small cream cake he had originally bought for Tang Xi deeper into his bag, his gaze lingering on the obviously much more expensive cake in Tang Xi’s hands. He fell silent.
But Tang Xi, now fully focused on his food, paid no attention. He carefully took out a small fork, scooped up some cream, and popped it into his mouth, his eyes narrowing in bliss.
However, just because he didn’t notice the shift in Ye Qian’s mood didn’t mean others didn’t.
The few students still in the classroom had witnessed the entire scene. Though they hadn’t caught every word, the situation was more than clear.
It only took one class period before the school forum had a new trending post:
#The Love-Hate Triangle of the School Heartthrob, the School Bully, and the New Transfer Student#
1551 detected that the user “OuOu”, whose account it had previously hacked and shut down, hacked had created a new alt account and was making sarcastic comments in the forum.
Without hesitation, it hacked in again, permanently banning all of that person’s alternate accounts. As for how furious they were on the other side of the screen—that wasn’t 1551’s concern.
Meanwhile, Tang Xi was still reminiscing about the few delightful bites of strawberry cake. Hours passed, and he remained oblivious to the occasional glances his classmates were throwing his way.
It wasn’t until the dismissal bell rang that he finally finished savoring the memory of his dessert.
Excited at the thought of going home to eat more delicious food, he eagerly packed up his textbooks.
Ye Qian watched him, his lips parting slightly as if to say something, but in the end, he stayed silent.
. . . . .
The moment Tang Xi got home, his first priority was, as always, to trot over to the door and wait for He Wang.
Every time Tang Xi went downstairs, he’d position his little butt toward the outside, carefully lower one tiny paw first, then slowly slide down step by step.
Afraid he might tumble down the stairs, the butler always stepped in by the second step to pick him up. Today was no exception.
“Meow~ Meow~” You’re back!
Once the butler set him down, Tang Xi let out a soft call and stretched out his paws, clutching onto He Wang’s pant leg as he slowly climbed up.
“Were you good at home today?” He Wang asked, reaching up to rub the little kitten resting on his shoulder.
Of course… not!
“Meow.” Tang Xi tilted his head and rubbed against the villain’s face, putting on his best obedient act.
Unfortunately, his act was immediately exposed.
The butler, looking slightly concerned, spoke up and recounted the whole ordeal about how Tang Xi had gone missing before mealtime.
Tang Xi stared in disbelief at the grandpa butler. How could he sell me out like this?!
“Meow meow meow!” That’s not true! I didn’t do it! He’s lying!
The classic three-step cat denial.
He Wang glanced at the unusually frantic little kitten on his shoulder, the corners of his lips curving slightly. “Oh? Is that so?”
Realizing his meow talk wouldn’t get him out of trouble, Tang Xi immediately switched strategies—playing dumb.
“Meow?” This cat doesn’t know. This cat understands nothing.
Though He Wang had a smile on his face, there was not a hint of warmth in his eyes.
He carried Tang Xi to the dining table, lifted him off his shoulder, and placed him on the table. Looking straight at him, he said, “Do you know what happens to disobedient little kitten?”
Tang Xi had been spoiled over the past two days and had grown bolder, even in the face of the villain. He licked his little paws, pretending he didn’t understand a word.
He was clearly counting on the fact that the villain wouldn’t have the heart to scold him.
He Wang found this amusing and tapped the table with his fingers to regain the kitten’s attention. Slowly, he said, “Disobedient kittens don’t get to eat meat.”
The villain’s usually pleasant voice now sounded like the devil’s whisper in Tang Xi’s ears.
“Meow?!” The moment he heard there would be no meat, Tang Xi’s fur bristled in fear.
He finally realized the seriousness of the situation.
Quickly, he rubbed against He Wang’s hand on the table, then peeked up at him cautiously.
Seeing no reaction, he rubbed against him again in a more fawning manner.
But He Wang merely called for the butler to serve his own meal.
He actually resisted the soft fluff of the little kitten!
As expected of a villain.
Tang Xi stared at He Wang as if facing a great crisis, like he was dealing with the most difficult problem of the century.
He Wang reached out and tapped the little kitten’s head, making him fall backward.
Tang Xi immediately rolled onto his back, sprawled out with all four paws in the air, and let out a pitiful “meow, meow,” full of grievance.
It looks like he had been bullied quite badly.
Seeing his rarely exposed little paw pads, He Wang finally reacted. Casually reaching out, he poked them. “Where did you hide and play today?”
Tang Xi instinctively curled up his paws, trying to tuck away his sensitive little pads, but on the surface, he still acted obedient and clueless.
Just then, the butler brought dinner to the table.
Tang Xi was stunned when he saw the plate—there was a lobster bigger than his entire body! Under the chef’s skilled hands, the lobster meat retained its original fresh and savory flavor to the fullest.
“Meow meow meow!” I want to eat! Let me eat!
The little kitten, who had just been looking all innocent, now had eyes that practically sparkled at the sight of the meat.
His originally mysterious, lake-green eyes were now filled with longing for the lobster. Who could resist such an adorable cat?
He Wang could.
Without hesitation, a pair of hands stopped Tang Xi just as he was about to pounce on the lobster. His owner smirked slightly. “You want to eat?”
“Meow!” Yes!
Tang Xi anxiously spun around twice, placing his little paws on the man’s hand, staring longingly at the food.
“If you want it, sit down nicely.” The voice was both coaxing and teasing.
Without a second thought, Tang Xi plopped down on his butt, his little paws still stubbornly resting on the man’s hand.
A trace of satisfaction flickered in He Wang’s eyes.
With training, animals can learn to follow simple commands, but Tang Xi was nothing like a trained cat.
This silly little kitten, who could actually understand human speech, was way too easy to trick—just a bit of tasty food, and he’d fall right into the trap. If no one watched over him, he’d probably get kidnapped in no time…
He Wang lowered his gaze, suppressing the strong possessiveness in his eyes. He stopped testing the kitten and instead instructed the butler to bring over Tang Xi’s meal as well.
The butler had already placed the kitten’s dinner on the serving cart earlier, so upon hearing the command, he promptly brought over a cat-shaped plate.
The kitchen had also prepared lobster meat for the little kitten. The meat was naturally fresh and sweet, delicious even without any seasoning.
Tang Xi happily rubbed against He Wang’s hand before burying his head into the food.
He even took a moment to lap at the goat milk prepared for him on the side.
It wasn’t until his belly was round and full that He Wang finally stopped him from eating any more and carried him back upstairs.
Lying on the bed, Tang Xi watched Puss in Boots while discussing with the system how to bring Ye Qian and Shen Chensi together.
1551 didn’t dare let this silly cat come up with ideas on his own anymore, so it pointed out a crucial turning point in the storyline:
[In a few days, Shen Chensi will be cornered by a group of thugs, and Ye Qian will secretly call the police for him. However, Shen Chensi won’t know that it was Ye Qian who alerted them—he’ll think the officers just happened to be passing by.]
[Ye Qian never mentions it either. It isn’t until years later, during their first big fight in college after they’ve gotten together, that the truth comes out. Shen Chensi is deeply moved when he learns what really happened and takes the initiative to make up with Ye Qian. This moment is a key turning point in their relationship.]
Tang Xi blinked in confusion: [But it doesn’t seem like I need to do anything here?]
1551 nearly exploded with frustration: [If you just let Shen Chensi find out right away who helped him and quietly walked away, wouldn’t he change his opinion of Ye Qian much sooner? With a little push, the two of them will definitely get together earlier!]
[1551, you’re amazing!] Tang Xi thought for a moment and couldn’t help but give the system a mental thumbs-up.
[Of course!] 1551 responded smugly.
Their conversation was interrupted when the villain, freshly showered, finished washing up.
The broad-shouldered, narrow-waisted man sat down beside Tang Xi, his body still carrying traces of steam.
The soft mattress sank under his weight, and Tang Xi naturally slid along the curve, ending up pressed against the man’s side.
He looked up in a daze, his big eyes blinking.
“Meow?”
