Chapter 27 – Campus Arc: A Glamorous Romance – The Cinderella Sweetheart’s Endless Love (27)
Bai Tang had grown accustomed to Hudson’s care, and after just a few days of living alone, he couldn’t stand the emptiness of his room.
Tian Lingxue also noticed that something was off between them. Bai Tang refused to talk about it, but she eventually learned about the misunderstanding with the rival in love from Owen. As Bai Tang’s unwavering supporter, Tian Lingxue firmly declared that Bai Tang had done the right thing. He shouldn’t always be seen as easy to bully! If they really ended up together in the future, wouldn’t the Lycett family trample all over him?
With this in mind, even the way she looked at Owen changed. She had been gentle with him for a few days, but now her gaze sharpened again. Owen felt like crying but had no tears to shed.
“Hudson, you’re really my best brother! Why are you blocking my path to romance? My future girlfriend is slipping away!” — Owen, waving a handkerchief and tearfully watching his potential love interest leave.
Even though Bai Tang was somewhat willing to reconcile with Hudson, Tian Lingxue and the system firmly stood by his side. Whether Bai Tang was in the right or not didn’t matter—Tang Tang could never be wrong.
…
On the day assignments were due, Bai Tang, with the help of his system scholar cheat, managed to submit an outstanding paper. Meanwhile, Hudson—who was originally supposed to be the model student—failed to turn in his work and was publicly criticized by the professor. However, given the weight of the Lycett surname, the teacher didn’t dare be too harsh. Hudson was merely given a week to resubmit his paper.
While the professor was reprimanding Hudson, Hudson never took his eyes off Bai Tang.
“Qiu’er, I didn’t follow the storyline and delete his paper, so why did it still happen?”
The system, trying to sound confident, shouted: “I don’t know! It wasn’t me!”
Bai Tang: “Oh? So it was you, huh~?”
System: “No, no, no! It wasn’t me! Hudson’s laptop was hacked, what does that have to do with me?”
Bai Tang: “And how exactly do you know his laptop was hacked?”
The system, guilty as sin: “I detected it…”
Bai Tang squinted at the system, suspicion clear in his gaze. “Qiu‘er, tell me the truth. Did you do it?”
The system looked just like a thief caught red-handed.
The system weakly muttered, “He bullied you first… I just couldn’t stand it, so I…”
Since the system and Bai Tang were essentially partners, the fact that it had secretly “avenged“ him left Bai Tang feeling guilty. So, when Hudson once again asked him to move back in for the sake of better care and protection, Bai Tang clutched his chest and firmly refused.
This was clearly Bai Tang refusing to forgive him!
Hudson raised an eyebrow. Fine, if I’m going to suffer, then the real culprit isn’t getting off easy either.
When Hannah Lycett found out, she wailed and swore she had to atone for her sins. She declared that as long as Bai Tang, their little cutie, forgave her, she would immediately return to France to continue acting—and she wouldn’t come back until she won an Oscar for Best Actress.
She finally managed to evade Hudson and tracked down Bai Tang, who was momentarily alone. Well… not completely alone. Tian Lingxue was right by his side.
Standing protectively in front of Bai Tang, Tian Lingxue glared and asked sharply, “Who are you?”
Hannah took off her sunglasses, revealing a pair of enchanting, almond-shaped eyes—now shadowed with faint traces of exhaustion.
“Tang Tang, my little cutie, you have to save me~~” Her voice trembled dramatically at the end, sending chills down one’s spine.
Bai Tang & Tian Lingxue: “???”
…
“So, that’s how it all happened. I’ve always played the lead actress, but I just wanted to experience the thrill of being a vicious supporting character. Please don’t take it to heart~~~” Hannah clasped Bai Tang’s hands, earnestly pleading.
Tian Lingxue, internally rolling her eyes, couldn’t help but think—Why does Hannah’s behavior remind me so much of Owen? Could it be that Owen and Hannah are actually the real siblings?
Bai Tang had always been weak against people crying in front of him. Besides, Hannah hadn’t really done anything that bad to him. His heart softened, and in the end, he gave a small nod.
