Chapter 26 – Campus Arc: A Glamorous Romance – The Cinderella Sweetheart’s Endless Love (26)

When Hudson returned, he found that Bai Tang had already packed up all his belongings.

A sense of unease rose in his chest. “Where are you going?”

Bai Tang didn’t want to talk to Hudson. He remembered Hannah telling him to stay away from Hudson. He didn’t want to cause any trouble for anyone.

“Thank you for taking care of me all this time. My dorm room has been repaired, so I’ll be moving back. I don’t want to inconvenience you any longer,” Bai Tang said sincerely. He picked up his luggage and pushed open the door, ready to return to the dorm next door.

But before he could take a step, Hudson grabbed the little one and pulled him into his arms.

“You’re not a bother. You never will be.”

Bai Tang struggled. “Let go of me! I want to go back to my own dorm!”

“This is your dorm. Where else do you think you’re going?” Hudson tightened his hold, though he was careful not to hurt him.

Tears welled up in Bai Tang’s eyes until he finally burst into sobs. “You… you already have a fiancée! I don’t need you to take care of me anymore…”

As soon as Hudson heard this, he immediately understood what was going on. There was no way he was letting Bai Tang go now.

With one hand, he dialed a video call. Soon, the screen lit up with an image of a seductive woman in a red dress. She played with her freshly manicured nails and winked flirtatiously at Hudson.

“Hello~ Did my little brother miss me so soon?”

“Since when did you become my fiancée?” Hudson got straight to the point, holding the still-sobbing Bai Tang in one arm, his expression dark.

Hannah Lycett felt her heart skip a beat. Not good…

Quickly adjusting her expression, she put on a sheepish smile. “Oh dear, I just heard in France that you got yourself a boyfriend, so I came to check it out. Just wanted to take a look, that’s all~”

She clasped her hands together in a pleading gesture, her face full of faux innocence.

“Little one, don’t take it to heart! Big sister didn’t mean anything by it. I was just curious about which poor little cabbage got eaten up by this scoundrel Hudson…”

Bai Tang, still tear-streaked and dazed by this unexpected turn of events, suddenly turned and pounded his fists against Hudson’s chest.

“Does your hand hurt? This spot is softer.” Hudson caught Bai Tang’s hand and placed it on his thigh.

“Tang Tang, the male lead is being a scoundrel! I take back all my admiration for him when we first arrived in this world,” the system huffed in indignation.

Bai Tang, feeling embarrassed, let out a huff. “I want to live on my own.”

He grabbed his suitcase and tried to leave.

I tell him everything, but he never tells me anything. I have my own temper too!

The little squirrel was truly upset this time. No matter how much Hudson coaxed him, Bai Tang refused to be swayed. Left with no choice, Hudson helped him clean and organize his room instead.

The bed had to be extra soft—Tang Tang had delicate skin and couldn’t sleep on something too firm. The walls needed wallpaper—Tang Tang liked sleeping against the wall, but it was too cold. A rug had to be placed at the bathroom door—last time, Tang Tang had almost slipped…

Hudson busied himself with all the preparations, and Bai Tang started to feel a little guilty.

“Qiu’er, am I being too demanding? The male lead has done so much for me, but I feel like I haven’t done anything for him. I feel so useless…”

Bai Tang sat on the bed, swinging his legs while munching on the nuts that Hudson had given him.

“This is what he should be doing! Who told him to keep making you sad?” The system huffed righteously.

Once Hudson finished tidying up, Bai Tang glanced at the bathroom where the accident had happened. A faint trace of fear still lingered in his heart. Taking a deep breath, he hardened his resolve. Sticking to his use and discard principle, he shoved Hudson out the door, slammed it shut, and locked it—all in one swift motion.

Then he plopped down on the bed, puffing his cheeks in frustration.

Hmph! Why isn’t he coaxing me a little more? Just a little more, and I’d go back to the dorm with him…

Bai Tang completely forgot that he had sworn to teach Hudson a lesson. Now, instead, he was sulking all by himself.

Seeing Bai Tang’s unwavering determination, Hudson figured the little squirrel was still upset. He made a mental note to find something to keep his troublemaking sister busy.

An arranged marriage, huh? Well, I’m not the only eligible one in the family.

And so, thanks to Hudson’s swift and decisive actions, by the very next day, Hannah was thrown into the deep end of endless matchmaking sessions.

Hannah: [Little brother, I was wrong! I was really, really wrong! I won’t mess with your little cutie anymore, okay? QAQ~]
