Wen Le of Rebirth in the End Times (BL) – Chapter 8 The Nightmare Begins

After telling everyone everything he could the night before, Wen Le nestled back into Xiao Wen’s arms and fell asleep again.

Perhaps it was the effect of the sedative, or maybe it was because he had released some of the pressure in his heart by speaking his mind, but Wen Le slept deeply that night without any nightmares.

Finally, he had regained some of the energy he had lost before.

Feeling the coolness beside him, Wen Le pouted slightly despite having had a good night’s sleep. Although he knew Xiao Wen was going to retrieve the last part of the weapon, he still felt a little resentful.

Since returning with the supplies, Xiao Wen and the others had moved into Wen Le’s villa, and Wen Le naturally pulled Xiao Wen into his own bed.

Don’t be surprised, Wen Le wasn’t that bold to throw himself into Xiao Wen’s arms. He just simply thought that since he and Xiao Wen were lovers, it was normal to sleep together… just sleep, nothing more.

Besides, it was already winter, and Wen Le’s body temperature was cooler, even with the high-temperature air conditioning on all night, his hands and feet were still freezing.

Xiao Wen had a strong body heat, and every night, Wen Le snuggled up against him, feeling like he was next to a big stove, very comfortable.

After lazing around in bed for a while, Wen Le got up.

After washing up and coming downstairs, he found that only Zhou Quan and Uncle Mo were at home.

Uncle Mo was Mo Yan’s father. To prevent the tragedy from happening again, Wen Le took the opportunity of having everyone move in together and also invited Uncle Mo.

Mo Yan’s father was a somewhat quiet but very kind uncle. His original name was Mo Gang, but Wen Le and the others called him Uncle Mo. Except for Mo Yan, the rest of them no longer had any parents or elders, so they all respected Uncle Mo very much, and Wen Le relied on him a bit more.

Since the death of his parents, Wen Le, who had always been pampered, had lost his reliance. At that time, Wen Le had just turned 18, but his temperament was even more naive than his peers. Although Xiao Wen supported him behind the scenes, it was not as reassuring and coddling as relying on elders. Even though the two of them were already lovers now, Wen Le still felt that he was also a man and couldn’t feel the same dependence on Xiao Wen as a junior towards his elders.

The first time Uncle Mo saw Wen Le after moving in, he couldn’t help but overflow with fatherly love. Although he didn’t talk much usually, in front of this cute boy who surrounded him with all kinds of pleas for love and caresses, his heart was full of indulgence that couldn’t be contained.

As for the others, including his own son, hmm, don’t think he didn’t know what they were up to. They were running around with knives and guns all day long, very manly, right? Why would he need his own fatherly love for them!

“Uncle Mo, good morning!” Wen Le ignored Zhou Quan and rubbed up against Uncle Mo, who was reading the newspaper.

“You, it’s still early, the sun hasn’t even come out yet!” Uncle Mo helplessly shook his head and got up to go to the kitchen to heat up breakfast.

Wen Le giggled and followed him obediently, waiting in the dining room.

Zhou Quan looked at the old and the young and felt speechless.

First, let’s talk about Wen Le. Although he used to be simpler, he was still a sunny 20-year-old boy. Who would have thought that last night he gave them the indifference of someone who had seen through the world? Now he’s so childish that he might as well wear a sign that says, “I’m four years old this year!”

As for Uncle Mo…why does he dote on Wen Le every time, but when he turns to them, he only shows the care of an elder to a younger one?! Aren’t they only a few years older than Wen Le?!

Forget it, even Mo Yan only twitches the corner of his mouth and accepts this differential treatment, so they won’t say anything either.

Bang!

“Zhou Quan! The boss fainted!” Yin Chengyang’s loud voice suddenly sounded from outside the door.

Wen Le and Uncle Mo rushed out without even thinking about breakfast.

Yin Chengyang and Mo Yan laid Xiao Wen flat on the sofa. Zhou Quan rushed upstairs to get the inspection tools.

Wen Le sat next to Xiao Wen and held his hand tightly.

Although he knew that Xiao Wen’s fainting this time was due to the awakening of his ability, he still felt terrified, with a pale face.

Apocalypse has begun…

Although he has been preparing for the apocalypse since he was reborn, Wen Le still holds onto the almost impossible hope that the apocalypse will not happen this time.

But Xiao Wen fainted.

This means that the virus has already spread in the air. Last time, the first people to be infected by the virus were not the humans who later became zombies, but a very small number of people who awakened their abilities.

“No! I can’t find the cause. We have to go to the hospital!” Zhou Quan checked Xiao Wen from head to toe, but couldn’t find any reason.

“No!” Wen Le screamed out.

Last time, after Xiao Wen was arrested by the police because of the weapons he had just traded before apocalypse, Han Ya restrained everyone and did not let Xiao Wen go to the hospital. On the third day, Xiao Wen woke up by himself, and at the same time, most people began to turn into zombies.

At the beginning of apocalypse, some people did awaken their abilities, but with the accompanying coma, most people were sent to the hospital by their families and friends. When they woke up, they were faced with the hospital in the disaster area, and even if they had abilities, almost no one could escape from that hell.

This time, because of Wen Le, Xiao Wen did not sell the weapons and was not targeted by the police. But hospitals are still absolutely forbidden.

Yin Chengyang anxiously asked what to do.

Wen Le ignored him and looked at Han Ya and Zhou Quan, shaking his head.

“We can’t go to the hospital. Do you remember my dream? Two days later, the hospital will be hell on earth.”

Zhou Quan fell silent. If the end of the world is real, and if it is not a natural disaster, then the human disaster… is probably the most severe in hospitals.

“Did the boss faint?” Han Ya asked Wen Le, suppressing Yin Chengyang’s panic.

Wen Le was taken aback, only then reacting to Han Ya asking about his dream.

“Yes, the scene is different, but the time is the same.”

“When will he wake up?”

“The day after tomorrow.”

Han Ya nodded and asked Yin Chengyang and Mo Yan to take Xiao Wen upstairs and send him to the room…

Uncle Mo poured a glass of milk for Wen Le, but given the situation, breakfast was the last thing on anyone’s mind.

Wen Le took the glass of milk and drank it all in one gulp, feeling a little less scared.

Zhou Quan and Han Ya sat down without saying a word.

“In my dream, Xiao Wen gained an ability after waking up, probably related to speed and physical abilities,” Wen Le said.

Zhou Quan and Han Ya nodded. It had taken them a whole night to accept that Wen Le had a special ability to control space, but now they found it easy to believe that their leader would gain a speed-related ability.

Although Uncle Mo was surprised and didn’t quite understand, he still went upstairs. He had noticed the unusual behavior of the children during this period, but he knew they were responsible people and didn’t want to interfere unnecessarily.

“Is there a safe place in your dream?” Zhou Quan asked.

A safe place? They had once thought the base was safe, but…

Wen Le’s face turned pale at the thought of the base.

Shaking his head hard, he said, “No, at least not in the past year that I’ve been dreaming. Everywhere we’ve been has been either very dangerous or just dangerous.” It was like having to choose between two rotten apples and picking the one that was slightly less rotten.

Han Ya frowned. If there was an absolutely safe place, Wen Le would have mentioned it earlier. But he had not expected the environment to be so harsh.

“Let’s leave then,” Wen Le gritted his teeth. He had stayed because Xiao Wen’s goods had not been fully received and because he still had a glimmer of hope. But now that Xiao Wen had fainted, the apocalypse was right in front of them.

“Leave the city? If the apocalypse in your dream is like a biological crisis, the fewer people there are, the relatively safer it is for us,” Han Ya paused. “How about going to the northwest mountains?”

Wen Le was about to refuse, but then he thought…

“At the beginning of the apocalypse, only humans were infected, but after six months, the virus in the air mutated, and the infected humans, that is, zombies, also evolved. The mutation also gave some non-powered humans the ability. But… animals mutated too…”
