Wen Le of Rebirth in the End Times (BL) – Chapter 9 The Arrival of the Apocalypse

Han Ya was surprised in his heart. Wen Le understood too clearly. Even if he had dreamed about it for three days in a row, he couldn’t describe it in such detail, right?!

But despite his surprise, Wen Le couldn’t be lying to them.

“Then let’s hide away during this period at the beginning, isn’t it still half a year away from the animal mutation?” Yin Chengyang, who had already come downstairs, said after hearing it.

With Uncle Mo taking care of Xiao Wen upstairs, Yin Chengyang and Mo Yan came down. Han Ya thought for a moment and didn’t quite agree, but before she could speak, Wen Le was the first to object.

“I think we should adapt to the environment more at the beginning of the apocalypse and try to improve our combat abilities before the second mutation.”

“Young Master Wen’s suggestion is not bad. If we hide now, we will be facing zombies that have undergone a second evolution and also have to deal with zombie animals half a year later. Without some experience, I’m afraid we will suffer heavy losses.” Han Ya took over Wen Le’s words and continued to analyze.

Wen Le couldn’t help but admire Han Ya’s thinking. He was indeed always Xiao Wen’s strategist and lawyer. The first reaction of normal people facing disasters is to escape, but he is thinking about how to adapt and lay the groundwork for survival in the future. If it weren’t for him back then, these people would have been able to live well, right?!

“After the animal mutation, only a small part, such as chimpanzees, monkeys, and rats, will become zombie animals. The majority of the others will have various strange abilities like human mutants. They won’t turn into zombies when injured by mutated animals, but they will be infected by the virus when injured by zombie animals and human zombies.” Adjusting his mood, Wen Le continued to educate them on the knowledge of apocalypse.

He decided to let go of his guilt towards them and face the new apocalypse in the best possible condition.

“By the way, we haven’t got our last batch of goods…”

Seeing everyone lost in thought about the apocalypse, even Han Ya had forgotten about their original purpose for going out today.

Mo Yan interrupted suddenly, reminding them that the reason they had gone out today was to make a trade deal that was left uncompleted because their boss passed out on the way.

Wen Le grinned, surprised that even Han Ya had forgotten about the trade deal.

Zhou Quan watched Wen Le laughing quietly on the side, feeling amused. But the next second, he suddenly rushed towards Wen Le in panic.

Seeing Zhou Quan’s sudden movement, everyone else looked over as well. They saw Wen Le, who had been laughing a moment ago, suddenly falling straight down.

Wen Le felt as though he had fallen into a dream, away from the apocalypse. He lay in a spring in space, feeling like he was only a soul without a physical body.

However, he felt incredibly comfortable spiritually. After a while, he could feel his spiritual power gradually recovering to what it was before his rebirth. The scattered spiritual power began to condense around a golden dot.

Wen Le felt like he was having a dream, one without any loss or apocalypse. In the dream, he was lying in the spring eye of a space. Although the spring eye was only the size of a fist, he could fit inside it entirely.

In his dream, he couldn’t see his body, as if he only had a soul without a physical form. But he felt very comfortable mentally, and after a while, he could feel his spiritual power slowly recovering from before he was reborn. The dispersed spiritual power began to condense around a golden light spot.

It seemed like a long time had passed. There was no sunrise or sunset in the space, but he felt like many years had gone by. Slowly, he left the spring and felt that he could control his body again.

He opened his eyes slowly and met a pair of bewildered eyes.

“Awake?”

Looking in the direction of the voice, Wen Le and Xiao Wen saw Uncle Mo sitting by the bed.

“Where are we?” Xiao Wen sat up.

“Don’t get out of bed yet, I’ll have Zhou Quan come over to check on you.”

Wen Le climbed up with Xiao Wen’s help and nodded at Uncle Mo.

Soon, Zhou Quan arrived with others.

“How do you feel? Is there any discomfort?” Zhou Quan pulled out his stethoscope as he asked and began to examine them.

“I feel fine, what happened to me?” Wen Le asked in confusion. He remembered talking to Han Ya and the others downstairs just now.

Uncle Mo brought two bowls of porridge and sat down beside Wen Le after Zhou Quan finished the examination.

“You child, and you still ask what happened. After Xiao Wen fainted, you were talking with Xiao Yan and the others downstairs, and suddenly collapsed without any warning.” Uncle Mo handed another bowl of porridge to Xiao Wen. “Quickly eat something, you haven’t eaten for two days since you passed out.”

Wen Le almost choked on the porridge in his mouth.

He passed out? For two days? How was that possible?! Last time he awakened his psychic power was during the second mutation.

Wen Le couldn’t believe it and tried to sense his psychic power in his mind.

Oh no!

The psychic power in his mind was so profound! It was beyond comparison to before his rebirth!

Xiao Wen was drinking porridge and just then, Han Ya beside him had no choice but to tell Xiao Wen what Wen Le had said without explaining.

Wen Le ignored them and frowned, thinking about what could have caused his sudden surge in psychic power.

Suddenly, he remembered a dream he had just had. In the dream, he was…

Could it be related to the spring?

Or, perhaps, his psychic power had not disappeared after his rebirth, but had been lurking in his head due to the lack of the virus as a trigger? If so, it would explain his ability to control space. Maybe his rebirth caused a mutation in his space ability.

Normal space abilities were like a dimly lit room, unable to preserve things and incapable of containing living creatures, and people could not even enter it. The space he had now was not just able to contain himself, but even a whole forest on the mountain that grew naturally. It was more like a new world than just a space.

The sudden ringing of the phone brought Wen Le back to reality as he ate his porridge, alternating between taking bites and speaking.

Han Ya answered the phone and reported to Xiao Wen. His eyes, however, looked towards Wen Le.

“Someone called and said that many people have fainted.”

Wen Le’s face turned pale. He couldn’t help but be grateful that he fainted after Xiao Wen. Otherwise, the two of them would have woken up in the hospital and had nowhere to cry.

“Pack up! Get ready to run.” Wen Le got out of bed and opened the closet to pack his clothes. Although he had bought a lot of things in his space, it was the end of the world now, and he couldn’t waste anything!

As soon as he opened the closet, Wen Le was startled. There was nothing in the cabinet, empty.

“We have packed everything in the basement these days. It’s more convenient for you to keep them there. We will leave directly from the underground parking lot.” Zhou Quan explained.

Wen Le nodded. This could save a lot of time.

Xiao Wen felt Wen Le’s panic and walked over to hug him. “We are all well prepared. Don’t worry. It’s just apocalypse.”

Wen Le couldn’t help feeling safe in Xiao Wen’s embrace. Hearing that people were starting to turn into zombies made Wen Le feel anxious.

Yes, it’s just apocalypse.

“How long does it take for a coma patient to turn into a zombie?”

Upon hearing Zhou Quan’s words, Wen Le came out of Xiao Wen’s arms.

“It’s hard to say. Some people can turn into zombies in just an hour, while others may take three or four hours.” Wen Le could only give a rough estimate of the time.

Wen Le took out a national map from the space and laid it on the bed.

“Have you guys thought about where to go these two days?”

In the two months of his rebirth, Wen Le had been thinking about which direction to escape to in the event of an apocalypse, but he felt that nowhere was safe.

Han Ya pointed to a place.

“Plateau1.”

Wen Le nodded. There were few people and animals on the plateau. However, the weather changes that came with it could make the plateau extremely hot at noon and extremely cold at night. But compared to other places, the level of danger here was still acceptable.

The temperature changes would occur after the second mutation. Before that, it was a good place to rest, and everyone had probably adapted to the end of the world on their way there. They could rest well when they arrived. As for whether they could adapt to the environment there six months later, they would deal with it then. If they couldn’t adapt, they would retreat.

Wen Le looked at Xiao Wen, and he had no objection to going to the plateau as Han Ya had considered the issue thoroughly.

As for the other people, they would naturally follow wherever the leader went.

“Let’s go then.” Xiao Wen pulled Wen Le, and Han Ya put away the map.

Wen Le pulled Xiao Wen, who was about to walk away, and wondered if they really thought those monsters were easy to deal with.

“Let’s change clothes first. Don’t let those monsters scratch or bite us. If we get injured, just swallow the bullet directly.” Wen Le said as he took out the clothes he had prepared earlier from his space, thickened mountaineering suits with a lot of fiber mesh inside to not affect movement and kept the joints empty.

Then he displayed seven pairs of military boots.

Uncle Mo’s heart shrank as he looked at the things that appeared out of thin air. Although Zhou Quan had told him about Wen Le’s space, which could hold anything, he was still startled when he saw it.

Wen Le saw that everyone, including Uncle Mo, had changed into their clothes and handed each person a locator and call button. They would install the mainframe on the car when they got in, which could display any location within a radius of twenty kilometers to prevent getting lost.

Han Ya and the others put on their clothes and looked at the call buttons handed to them. They had to admit that Wen Le was really well-prepared. Even Xiao Wen couldn’t help but laugh as he watched Wen Le taking out things one by one out of thin air.

After everyone was ready, they walked towards the underground warehouse together.
