Chapter 4 – Campus Arc: A Glamorous Romance – The Cinderella Sweetheart’s Endless Love (4)
He let out a faint, self-mocking chuckle.
Ever since meeting Bai Tang, everything had been a series of unexpected events, yet… somehow, something felt different.
Hudson placed a hand over his chest, feeling the strong, rhythmic beating of his heart.
Whenever he saw Bai Tang, his heart felt sore and tingly.
Why?
…
Bai Tang slept soundly until morning. As he sat up, stretching his arms lazily, he wiped away the moisture in his eyes from just waking up.
His gaze wandered around the unfamiliar room.
Where was he?
Still groggy, Bai Tang sat there in a daze. Slowly, memories from the previous night returned to him, and in an instant—whoosh—his face turned bright red.
Ah! I’m going to die of embarrassment! Last night… I actually drowned in the bathtub?! And the male lead had to pull me out… Doesn’t that mean he saw… everything?!
Bai Tang shrank back under the covers like a frightened turtle.
How am I supposed to face him now?! Qiu’er, what do I do~~
Unfortunately, the system was still in sleep mode and couldn’t respond. No matter how much Bai Tang wanted to avoid it, he would still have to face the male lead.
Taking a deep breath, he stepped into the bathroom, cheeks flushed.
“Morning.” He greeted Hudson, who was already freshening up.
“Morning, Tang Tang.” Hudson’s voice carried a noticeable warmth, his eyes glimmering with amusement.
Hudson had overheard Bai Tang’s conversation with Tian Lingxue last night and had caught the nickname “Tang Tang.” He thought it suited Bai Tang perfectly. Tang Tang… Tang Tang… like candy…
Bai Tang, blushing even harder, quickly finished washing up and dove back onto his bed. Pulling open a drawer, he grabbed a bag of nuts and started munching to calm himself down.
Why is the male lead calling me so intimately? He’s supposed to be the villain! We’re supposed to be at odds with each other!
When Hudson stepped out of the bathroom, he was met with the sight of a little “squirrel” curled up in the corner, nibbling on nuts.
Bai Tang’s cheeks were puffed up, stuffed full, and when he noticed Hudson looking at him, he quickly turned away to hide.
So cute~ Hudson couldn’t help but exclaim inwardly.
…
Fergusdon University had a rather liberal education system.
The student council managed most internal affairs of the school, even having the authority to revoke a teacher’s qualification—provided there was sufficient evidence and enough student signatures proving the teacher was unfit to teach.
As the student council president, Hudson naturally took advantage of his authority when it came to assigning dorm rooms.
Bai Tang still couldn’t figure out why he ended up sharing a dorm with the male lead. Now they had to see each other day and night—so awkward!
Of course, the male lead, female lead, and the supporting male character were all in the same major and the same class.
Hudson led Bai Tang to the classroom, drawing the attention of many students along the way.
“Isn’t that the little Eastern doll who offended the president yesterday?”
“Wow~ So he actually survived?”
“I heard the president is sharing a dorm with the little Eastern doll now…”
The murmurs spread among the crowd.
Hudson, worried that Bai Tang might overthink the situation, shot a cold glance at the gossipers. Those who received the icy glare from the student council president scattered like frightened birds.
Without hesitation, Hudson naturally took Bai Tang’s hand. “The campus is big, and you’re new here. I’ll show you around after class. For now, let’s go to the lecture.”
Class = Can’t understand the lecture → Tutoring = Male and female lead bonding → Romance progress = Mission success → System gains energy → System can talk again.
This equation was perfect!
Bai Tang eagerly nodded while munching on his nuts. Now he couldn’t wait for the male and female leads to meet—this way, he wouldn’t have to sit in awkward silence with the male lead, too afraid to make a move.
As Bai Tang followed Hudson into the classroom, the other students turned to look.
Tian Lingxue arrived with her roommates, but before she could greet Bai Tang, the class bell rang.
As expected, the plot never lies.
Even though Bai Tang had mentally prepared himself, the professor’s thick accent still made it nearly impossible to understand a word.
