Chapter 100 – King of Entertainment: Loving You Across the World – A Cold Shower of Dog Food Smacking My Face (07)
Min Gunian finally secured his official title after making a heartfelt confession. In all his 31 years of life, nothing had ever made him feel as exhilarated as today.
Driving home with his freshly minted boyfriend, the butler and maids could practically feel the CEO’s overwhelming joy.
How could he not be overjoyed? Your cold and unfeeling “entertainment tycoon” persona just collapsed, you know? The system silently complained.
Min Gunian scooped Bai Tang up in a bridal carry, bounding up the stairs two steps at a time before gently placing his treasure onto the bed.
Bai Tang, his eyes shyly lowered, waited in anticipation for Min Gunian’s next move.
A flurry of feather-light kisses rained down on him, ticklish and intoxicating. Bai Tang couldn’t help but burst into giggles.
“Tang Tang, I’m really, really happy.”
Bai Tang hummed in response, then suddenly remembered what Qiu’er had said. Tilting his head up, he declared,
“From now on, I’m your man. You have to listen to me, got it?”
His flushed face and pretend-tough demeanor were simply too adorable to resist.
Knowing his little boyfriend’s tiny temper, Min Gunian didn’t dare challenge him head-on—for fear of losing his newly granted “cohabitation privileges.” He nodded frantically.
“Mmhmm! I’ll listen to Tang Tang!”
Taking Bai Tang’s delicate hand, he gently kissed each rounded fingertip.
“That’s more like it.” Bai Tang, having put on enough of a front, finally dropped his act.
Retracting his hand, he suddenly thought of something, his face turning an even deeper shade of red. Then, in a voice as soft as a mosquito’s hum, he mumbled—
“Then… when are we going to sleep together…?”
That “sleep” probably wasn’t meant to be taken literally…
Min Gunian’s breath hitched, his pulse quickening. Without hesitation, he pulled Bai Tang closer and devoured that mischievous little mouth in a storm of kisses.
Only when they were both gasping for air, on the verge of suffocation, did Min Gunian finally rest his forehead against Bai Tang’s milky-white shoulder, struggling to steady his ragged breathing—despite a very obvious and uncontrollable reaction from his body.
A Deep, Raspy Voice Whispered in Bai Tang’s Ear: “Mr. Bai Tang, may I ask when I can officially become your husband?”
Min Gunian’s overwhelming presence and intoxicating pheromones left Bai Tang feeling dizzy. Just as he was about to nod and agree to get married on the spot, his system snapped him back to reality with a well-timed wake-up call.
“Dating hasn’t even properly started, and he already wants to take advantage of you. Hmph! Men—always thinking about doing, doing, doing!” The system grumbled. “Tang Tang, don’t fall for it! If something is too easy to obtain, it won’t be cherished. Has he taken you on a hot air balloon ride? Has he set off fireworks just for you? Has he made a grand declaration of love in romantic Provence?—And most importantly, has he even gotten down on one knee to propose?! He’s dreaming if he thinks he can skip all that.”
“Wow, Qiu’er, you know so much~” Bai Tang marveled in admiration, making the system puff up proudly.
Giving a smug little push to the “36 Strategies of Pursuing Love” book behind it, the system declared, “Of course! Who am I? I’m an all-knowing little library system, versed in both astronomy and geography!”
Instead of answering Min Gunian, Bai Tang repeated everything Qiu’er had said, and as he spoke, his lips pouted more and more.
“You haven’t even proposed~”
Min Gunian couldn’t bear to see Bai Tang on the verge of tears. Hugging his little sweetheart closer, he coaxed gently,
“Alright, I’ll take Tang Tang on dates—until Tang Tang is completely satisfied, okay?”
“Okay… I’ll forgive you just this once.” Bai Tang broke into a smile, satisfied, and let out a tiny yawn.
Min Gunian glanced at the time—10 PM. They’d returned home late today because of filming.
After Bai Tang finished his nighttime routine and lay down in bed, Min Gunian, as usual, told him a bedtime story. Once he was tucked in snugly, Min Gunian got up to leave.
“Where are you going…” Bai Tang, already too sleepy to keep his eyes open, instinctively reached out to grab him.
“Tang Tang, sleep first. I just need to handle a few things—I’ll be back soon.” Min Gunian gently tucked Bai Tang’s hand back under the blanket.
“Then… hurry back, okay~” Bai Tang murmured sleepily before drifting off.
Meanwhile, in the study, it was already 1 AM, but Min Gunian was still full of energy.
The success of today’s confession was enough to keep Min Gunian elated for days. At this moment, he was desperately clearing his schedule. To ensure he could secure his “official” status as Bai Tang’s boyfriend, he had to make sure his precious one was completely satisfied. Only after handling all his work could he make time for their dates.
Dates~ Just thinking about it had Min Gunian grinning uncontrollably, completely shattering his usual cold and distant persona.
Like an eager eighteen-year-old, he began searching for the best date spots for couples—but they couldn’t be too mainstream or cliché. It had to be unique. He even went as far as calling his assistant and Garry in the middle of the night to ask for relationship advice.
However, after receiving boring, uninspired suggestions from his nervous assistant and relentless teasing from Garry, Min Gunian decisively hung up.
What kind of outdated date ideas were those? It was obvious none of them had ever been in a serious relationship. It was better for him, the one who truly understood Tangtang, to plan things himself.
With determination in his eyes, Min Gunian continued scribbling furiously on an A4 sheet of paper…
Meanwhile, Bai Tang Was Filming as Usual. Everyone in the production crew knew by now that Bai Tang was Min Gunian’s favorite, and the staff went out of their way to cater to him. He received priority treatment in everything, from the best meals to the most comfortable accommodations.
In contrast, Wei Gudong wasn’t as lucky. Although neither Min Gunian nor Bai Tang had pursued any further action against her, many crew members subtly gave her the cold shoulder after witnessing the scene with Min Gunian. If not for a few kindhearted co-stars occasionally stepping in to help, things would have been even more difficult for her.
Bai Tang’s role in the drama wasn’t extensive. His character’s arc concluded midway through the show when the male and female leads went on a date, Aunt Lin took leave due to family matters, and his character collapsed from a heart attack and died on the floor.
Ever since Bai Tang had officially become his boyfriend, Min Gunian dropped by the set every few days. Each time, he brought lavish afternoon tea for the entire crew.
Bai Tang’s kind demeanor, lack of arrogance, and willingness to help others only made him more beloved by everyone.
On Camera: A Heartbreaking Scene Unfolded.
Du Yushu’s face contorted in pain as he struggled in his wheelchair, reaching desperately for the medicine bottle on the top shelf.
Beads of sweat dripped from his forehead, and his lower lip was pale from being bitten too hard.
Just a little more… just a little more…
Using the strength of his wheelchair, he lunged forward—only to crash onto the floor. But at the cost of his fall, he finally grasped the medicine bottle.
Yet, just as his trembling fingers twisted open the cap…
The bottle was empty.
There was no medicine inside.
His older brother never bought it for him.
With resentment in his eyes, the boy took his last breath amidst the unbearable pain in his heart.
He died… unable to rest in peace.
Director Chen clapped his hands and smiled with satisfaction. “Alright, cut! That was a perfect take. Bai Tang did an excellent job. With that, Du Yushu’s scenes are officially wrapped!”
Before the crew could step in, Min Gunian quickly approached and used a towel to wipe the sweat from Bai Tang’s forehead and back. “Tang Tang, you were amazing.”
When Bai Tang fell during the scene, Min Gunian had almost rushed forward to help him up. It took everything in him to remember that they were filming. If he had stepped into the frame, Bai Tang would’ve had to reshoot the scene—and take another fall.
“Did it hurt when you hit the ground just now?” Min Gunian rolled up Bai Tang’s sleeve, only to see a small bruise forming on his elbow. His heart clenched with distress.
“It didn’t hurt,” Bai Tang said with a bright smile.
But Min Gunian took that as him pretending to be strong.
In reality, Bai Tang was telling the truth—he didn’t feel any pain at all. His system had a healing function, and if it weren’t for the fact that healing injuries in front of everyone would seem unnatural, the system would’ve already cured him.
“If you hadn’t rolled up his sleeve, I would’ve healed him already. Hmph~” The system grumbled.
Wei Gudong was on the verge of madness with jealousy. The cold treatment she had received lately left her mentally unbalanced, unable to accept how much things had changed.
Bai Tang had been in the industry for years without gaining fame, and now, he was enjoying this special treatment—all because of Min Gunian. He was already twenty-seven—why was he still pretending to be some fresh-faced youth?
If Bai Tang could rise to the top this way, then so could she.
Since Bai Tang’s character had completed all his scenes, and given Min Gunian’s presence, the production team decided to treat everyone to a celebratory meal—a wrap party in Bai Tang’s honor.
Although Director Chen wasn’t the type to curry favor, he also didn’t want to offend Min Gunian. So, he extended a sincere invitation for him to join the dinner. Min Gunian readily agreed.
The rest of the crew was ecstatic—eating at the same table as Min Gunian? That was a bragging right they wouldn’t shut up about for weeks.
At the dining table, the fruit platters were exceptionally beautiful—even the watermelon had been carved into intricate floral designs.
Bai Tang looked left and right, reluctant to take a bite. It felt like eating it would ruin such a beautifully carved watermelon.
Seeing this, Min Gunian stepped in and carefully cut out a flower-shaped piece for Bai Tang.
“Does carving a watermelon into a flower make it taste better?” Bai Tang asked, holding up his fork.
Min Gunian removed the seeds and pushed the piece toward Bai Tang. “No, it just makes it more expensive.”
The people who had been eavesdropping on their conversation: “…” The cold dog food slapped them mercilessly in the face.
What was supposed to be a pleasant meal became utterly tasteless for everyone else.
After all, who could enjoy their food when sitting next to a couple acting so sweetly? Feeding each other bites, peeling fruit and shrimp for one another, wiping each other’s mouths, pouring drinks, playfully pouting when refused, and then being coaxed in a gentle voice—who could endure this level of PDA?
It turned out President Min wasn’t the cold and indifferent man the outside world believed him to be. He simply hadn’t met the right person yet. Looking at them now, even movies wouldn’t dare portray something this indulgent.
Wei Gudong clenched the object in her hand and excused herself to the restroom. However, instead of going there, she found a server delivering drinks, kindly offering to take the tray and serve them herself.
Once out of sight, she slipped something into the fruit-flavored beverage.
Bai Tang was the only one drinking juice at the table—once he drank the “special treat,” wouldn’t he make a complete fool of himself in front of everyone?
Wei Gudong returned to the private room, gracefully serving drinks to everyone.
Director Chen, who rarely gave compliments, actually praised her. “Xiao Dong, you’re learning well. Keep working hard, okay?”
Wei Gudong was overjoyed.
Truthfully, when she wasn’t acting opposite Bai Tang, her mistake rate was relatively low. Since she had been recommended by a friend, it wasn’t good to discourage her too much—after all, people needed opportunities to grow.
Meanwhile, Min Gunian was preventing Bai Tang from drinking too much juice, whispering softly into his ear.
“Xiao Dong,” Director Chen said kindly, “girls shouldn’t drink too much alcohol. Have some juice instead.”
Director Chen was quite influential in the industry. Since he personally poured Wei Gudong a drink, refusing would seem rude. If she declined, she’d likely be labeled as ungrateful by the next day.
Wei Gudong’s expression darkened as she slowly lifted the glass, only to see that Bai Tang was still flirting with Min Gunian. The “special treat” in his cup remained untouched.
In the end, under everyone’s watchful eyes, Wei Gudong had no choice but to force herself to drink the very thing she had tampered with.
“A girl shouldn’t drink so much,” a kindhearted woman beside her commented. “Look at you—your face looks awful. You must’ve had quite a bit already.”
Wei Gudong covered her mouth, pretending to feel nauseous, and apologized, “I think I drank too much earlier. I need to use the restroom again.”
With that, she quickly left the private room, rushing to the bathroom, where she forced herself to vomit.
But this was her own doing. She had chosen the strongest drug, and by now, it had already entered her stomach and been absorbed into her bloodstream.
Even splashing her face with cold water was useless—her vision grew blurrier, and her body started heating up.
“So hot…” Wei Gudong tugged at her collar, revealing a large expanse of pale skin.
Stumbling through the hallway, she swayed unsteadily, knocking over several decorative items. Finally, as she crashed into someone, the drug took full effect, and she instinctively clung to them…
Author’s Note:
Min Gunian: I finally have an official title! Now, I’ll work hard to get married—full speed ahead!
System: Tang Tang, things that are too easy to get won’t be cherished. You have to do this, then that, and then…
Bai Tang (nodding obediently): Tonight, you (points at Min Gunian) sleep at the door.
Wei Gudong: I have no dignity left… and now I’m suffering from my own actions. I’m crying.
