What a stunning scene. Du Yushu’s performance was flawless, yet Chen Yi completely failed to follow up.
“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry! I forgot my lines,” Wei Gudong apologized repeatedly.
Director Chen, considering that she had been recommended by a close friend and was still a newcomer, gave her a brief scolding before allowing them to reshoot.
The early scenes of the drama were almost entirely dialogue-heavy exchanges between Du Yushu and Chen Yi. However, Wei Gudong, playing Chen Yi, kept making mistakes—either zoning out or forgetting her lines. After an entire day’s worth of filming, they hadn’t even completed the opening scene, leaving Director Chen absolutely furious.
“Forget it. Du Yushu, go rest. Chen Yi, stay behind to redo your shots,” he said, his face dark with frustration.
Bai Tang had already changed out of his costume. As he passed by, he noticed Wei Gudong standing in the middle of the set, memorizing her lines. Before leaving, he offered her some words of encouragement.
