It was probably completely unexpected that Yan Luo would respond this way. The person on the other end of the call clearly froze for a moment, then choked out, “You don’t believe me?”
“No, I do. So tell me, what exactly did you do to make Yan Yuqi bold enough to come at me again the very next day?”
“…I planned to give you 20% of the company’s shares. As for Yang Si… I will divorce her.”
Yan Luo paused. Twenty percent of shares, plus a divorce with Yang Si. No wonder Yan Yuqi had pounced on her like a rabid dog in such a hurry.
Holding 20% of a company’s shares meant becoming a major shareholder. The bulk of Yan Yuxu’s stake would essentially end up in her hands.

“I don’t need it.”
“Yan Luo, I know you can’t forgive me, but—”
“I’m past the age where I need parental affection. I’m doing just fine on my own now, and I don’t want to deal with Yang Si or anything about you.”
Yan Luo could feel that after hearing Yan Yuxu’s words, the original owner’s emotions had actually calmed down. Perhaps she finally understood.

There was a brief silence on the other end before he finally responded, “I’ll give you what you deserve. I’ll call the school, Yan Yuqi will be sent abroad for her studies, and she will leave right away.”
“Mm. If there’s nothing else, I’ll hang up.”
The other side hesitated for a moment but eventually gave a low acknowledgment. Yan Luo ended the call.
Standing up straight, she saw Fang Shi walking out from the side, holding a still-damp jacket in his hands, his eyes blinking.
Yan Luo paused slightly, then let out a helpless sigh and beckoned, “Come here.”
Fang Shi immediately trotted over without asking what had happened. Instead, he leaned in close with a playful smile. “Still mad?”
Yan Luo stuffed her phone back into her pocket, raised both hands, and pinched his cheeks, pulling them apart.
Tilting her head slightly, she caught sight of the security guard through the glass taking a call, then gesturing toward her.
She nodded subtly, then turned her gaze back to the person in front of her, whose face was now deformed from her pinching but who didn’t resist at all. She released her grip, patted his cheeks, and muttered, “I really don’t see where you get your blackening value from.”
“Huh? What did you say?” Fang Shi, still rubbing his face, blinked and asked.
“Nothing. Go home and change your clothes. I’m heading to the lab. If anything comes up, call me, alright?”

That word almost slipped out instinctively. But thinking it over, he really couldn’t follow her for that long, and staying at her place indefinitely wasn’t a long-term solution.
Something seemed to cross his mind, and Fang Shi blinked before answering readily, “Alright, I’ll go home to change and make up for my streaming time.”
Why was he suddenly so obedient?
Yan Luo shot him a skeptical look but nodded anyway.
