When Yan Luo returned with a dry towel, her face was completely dark. Fang Shi sat obediently to the side, waiting for her. He found this scene amusing and quietly curved his lips into a subtle smile.

After roughly drying off some of the water, Yan Luo pulled her hands away with a grumble. “Do it yourself.”
Fang Shi took the towel and wiped his back, the corners of his lips lifting slightly as he looked at Yan Luo, who sat beside him, seemingly sulking.

Unable to resist, he leaned a little closer to her. Yan Luo glanced at him but said nothing, silently allowing it.
Recalling what Yan Yuqi had said earlier, Yan Luo pulled out her phone. She hadn’t replied to any messages all day yesterday, and this morning she had only skimmed through them. Aside from Fang Shi’s messages, there were mostly just ones from the Yan family.

“Is there something he needs?”

“I…” The person on the other end hesitated, seemingly not expecting this kind of response. “Yan Luo, I am your father.”
“I know.”
“There may have been some misunderstandings between us… I only recently found out the truth, and I wasn’t sure how to tell you.” The voice on the other end finally spoke after a long moment of deliberation.

The guilt was hitting him hard.

“Me?” Yan Luo blinked, then answered honestly, “Even romance novels these days wouldn’t dare write something this ridiculous.”
