Chapter 313 – Great God, I heard you’re going to travel a thousand li to deliver (47)

All morning and afternoon, apart from a few short conversations, this guy had been unusually well-behaved—not even clingy anymore. Who knew what was on his mind?

It wasn’t until Yan Luo got home and was about to take out her keys that the door across the hall suddenly swung open. She raised an eyebrow and glanced over, finally understanding why he had been so cooperative today.

“You? Why are you here?” she asked, blinking as she watched the eager figure closing in on her. “Weren’t you going home to change and make up for your missed streaming time?”

“I did,” Fang Shi replied innocently. “And it just so happens that the tenant across from you was selling their place, so I bought it.”

—To be closer to you. Closer still.
—Don’t turn me away, okay?

Not that she really has a choice now.

“What a coincidence,” Yan Luo said, the corners of her lips curling into a smile.

Fang Shi nodded earnestly.

—Yeah, right. Like I’d believe that.

Rolling her eyes, Yan Luo pushed open her door to go inside, only for Fang Shi to quickly wedge himself in the doorway, blocking her path. “Let’s go out for dinner,” he suggested. “And after that, we can play games together. Sound good?”

Her stomach was indeed a little empty, and there wasn’t much to eat at home. After a brief moment of consideration, Yan Luo nodded, patting him on the head before setting down her things and locking the door behind her.

Trailing behind her like a well-trained, oversized puppy, Fang Shi was almost ridiculously cute in his obedience. He was being so well-behaved, so considerate—not a hint of anything suspicious.

And yet…

Why wasn’t his blackening value going down?

Yan Luo shot him a doubtful look, scrutinizing him from head to toe. Under her gaze, Fang Shi instinctively straightened his posture, blinking at her. “What is it?”

“Nothing,” she murmured, feeling a little frustrated.

Dinner was a simple affair. But on the way home, Yan Luo’s phone buzzed non-stop with messages. Growing impatient, she finally tapped the screen to check them, then abruptly halted in her tracks. Looking up at him, she asked, “What did you do today?”

Fang Shi, who had been walking beside her, paused as well. He leaned over to glance at her phone.

It was her chat with Liu Ying. Several screenshots were attached, along with a few questioning messages.

The gist of it? A certain well-known streamer had publicly confessed to someone, sparking speculation about a possible relationship, one that was now causing controversy.

What started as a playful joke among Fang Shi’s fans had quickly escalated. The later posts were clearly malicious, filled with calculated wording meant to stir public opinion.

One look, and Fang Shi immediately knew who was responsible for this mess. His gaze darkened as he scanned the venomous comments.

He had been careless. Too caught up in his excitement, so eager to let the whole world know that this person was his.

Even though his words had been playful, his so-called father would never miss an opportunity to bring him down.

He could ignore the online storm, but Yan Luo might not be able to.

His expression grew heavier. Slowly, he licked his lips and looked into her eyes. This time, there was finally something more than affection in his gaze, something deeper, more complicated.

“I was making up for my missed stream,” he said. “I just… mentioned that you’re mine. But my family situation is a little complicated.”
