Waiting For You To Come Online – Chapter 65

Extra Chapter: Sweet Daily Life (3)

Xie Yang has been a bit troubled lately.

Qi Xu’s birthday is approaching, and he still hasn’t figured out what gift to give him.

After agonizing over it for a week and eliminating all the possible gift options, Xie Yang felt completely deflated.

Su Huai noticed that he had been downcast and distracted, even zoning out during class.

“What’s wrong?”

“Did you have a fight with Qi Xu?”

That can’t be right—how could someone as soft as Xie Yang possibly fight with Qi Xu?

And with how much Qi Xu dotes on Xie Yang, it’s unlikely they’d have a fight.

Xie Yang quickly denied it, “We didn’t fight.”

Their relationship has always been very stable, and they haven’t had a single argument since they started dating.

It seems like there’s nothing between them that could even spark a fight.

Su Huai asked, “Then why do you look so down lately? What’s going on?”

Xie Yang hesitated for a long time before speaking up, “I have a friend, um… my friend, yeah…”

Su Huai: “…”

Your only real friend is me.

Su Huai asked, “So, what’s going on with your friend?”

Xie Yang explained, “Well, my friend’s boyfriend has a birthday coming up, and he’s been struggling for a long time to figure out what gift to get him.”

As he spoke, he looked at Su Huai with hopeful eyes, hoping for some advice. “Do you have any good recommendations?”

Su Huai glanced at the calendar in surprise and said, “If I’m right, Qi Xu’s birthday is coming up soon.”

Xie Yang: “…”

He felt as if nothing could be hidden from Su Huai.

He muttered softly, “I didn’t say it was Qi Xu.”

Su Huai nodded and blinked innocently, teasing, “I just happened to remember that Qi Xu’s birthday is soon.”

Xie Yang suddenly deflated again and said gloomily, “I’ve been thinking for so long, and I still don’t know what to get Qi Xu.”

Qi Xu comes from a well-off family, and ever since he was a child, anything he wanted was handed to him on a silver platter.

He lacks nothing in terms of clothing, food, shelter, or transportation.

With what Xie Yang could currently think of or afford, any gift he considered meaningful might seem insignificant or trivial to Qi Xu. What matters most to Qi Xu is the thought behind the gift.

This has made choosing a gift a real challenge for Xie Yang.

Last Christmas, he gave Qi Xu a bouquet of roses crocheted from yarn, which Qi Xu carefully placed on his display shelf among his prized possessions.

Xie Yang could tell that Qi Xu genuinely loved that gift. In fact, whenever Xie Yang made small stuffed toys for him, Qi Xu cherished them just as much.

But he couldn’t just keep doing the same thing over and over. That would be way too unoriginal.

Su Huai laughed and said, “It’s simple. Just wrap yourself up as a gift for Qi Xu. I bet he’d love that.”

Considering Qi Xu’s strong desire for Xiao Xie, that gift would be exactly what he wants.

As Su Huai imagined Xie Yang tied up with a bow and presenting himself to Qi Xu, he couldn’t help but think, ‘D*mn, Qi Xu’s really got it good.’

Xie Yang’s mind filled with images at Su Huai’s suggestion, and his face started to blush uncontrollably.

Even though he found it embarrassing, he knew Su Huai was probably right—Qi Xu would definitely like that kind of gift.

As the blush spread across his face, Xie Yang, who was already pure and innocent-looking, now seemed both shy and tempting, giving off an irresistible allure.

Su Huai sighed again, thinking, ‘Qi Xu really did hit the jackpot.’

To be sure, Xie Yang decided to ask Shi Rui and Song Xingyu about Qi Xu’s past birthdays.

“How did Qi Xu usually celebrate his birthday?”

Shi Rui replied, “Nothing special. Usually, Old Song, Sheng Fei, and I would organize something for him. But this year, since you’re here, we don’t need to bother.”

Xie Yang smiled shyly and said, “The more, the merrier.”

Song Xingyu shook his head, “It’s different. If you’re with him, he’ll be happier.”

Qi Xu never really cared much about birthdays. In previous years, if it weren’t for the few of them arranging something, his birthday would have passed without much fanfare.

But now, with Xie Yang around, they didn’t need to worry about it anymore.

Qi Xu would definitely prefer spending his birthday alone with Xie Yang rather than in a big group.

Shi Rui added, “I think Qi Xu has a full schedule of classes on his birthday.”

Xie Yang was slightly taken aback, “Huh?”

Shi Rui chuckled, “Do you need help setting up for the surprise?”

Xie Yang quickly waved it off, “No, no, I can handle it myself.”

Finally, Friday arrived.

Xie Yang sent Qi Xu all kinds of sweet birthday messages, praising him like crazy while secretly preparing a surprise.

Qi Xu didn’t really care whether Xie Yang prepared a gift for his birthday. Instead, he was planning to use his birthday as an excuse to get Xie Yang to spend more time with him.

While Qi Xu was in class that afternoon, Xie Yang went to the cake shop to pick up the cake he’d had prepared. He had spoken to the shop owner ahead of time and asked her to add a little extra sugar to suit Qi Xu’s taste

After decorating the living room, Xie Yang took a shower.

The maid outfit he bought online—he wasn’t sure if Qi Xu would like it.

As Qi Xu was about to arrive home, Xie Yang climbed into the gift box.

He held the cake in his hands, with a bouquet of pink roses at his feet.

He quietly waited for his lover.

Author’s Note:

I think I might have forgotten, but a reader reminded me.

Xiao Xie should have the scent of caramel pudding, and Old Qi should have the scent of gardenia.

It kind of makes sense to me, orz.

So I’ve noted down all the scent suggestions you guys mentioned. After all, my next work will feature pheromones, and I might end up writing about ten or so more books with pheromones in the future.

I really love reading ABO stories, so I guess I’m into that kind of thing.

For example, I said I wanted to write about an S+ Alpha who takes on the form of a kitten, with an Omega who smells like catnip.

When I first wrote the pheromone scent for the Omega in “Training the Dog,” I chose camellia, because one day I came across its flower language, which includes: “How dare you underestimate my love?”

I thought it fit the Omega’s personality very well.

Until I found out that the kapok flower also falls off in one piece!
