Chapter 56 – The Cold and Lonely Top Student VS The School Bully Little Wolf Dog (5)
Unexpectedly, Mu Jin rushed into Qi Changfeng’s arms, and Qi Changfeng instinctively caught him.
The scent on the young man was exceptionally fresh. At the moment they embraced, an uncontrollable sense of fulfillment and joy filled Qi Changfeng’s heart.
The feeling as if their souls were being completed made him unconsciously let out a satisfied sigh. However, in just an instant, he quickly came back to his senses.
Trying to ignore the unusual feeling in his heart, Qi Changfeng silently found excuses for himself in his mind.
Usually, those troublemakers who didn’t study well often bothered him, affecting his daily studies. Maybe agreeing to tutor Mu Jin wouldn’t be such a disadvantageous deal after all.
However, after careful consideration, Qi Changfeng added, “I can tutor you, but don’t disturb me during my regular studies. You can choose the tutoring location, and I have to leave by nine every night.”
Mu Jin nodded vigorously at the words, thinking that his lover would probably say something like tutoring for at most half an hour each day. Unexpectedly, they could spend time together until nine o’clock.
Indeed, his lover was quite agreeable in front of him.
Feeling delighted, Mu Jin and Qi Changfeng agreed. Starting from the next evening, Qi Changfeng would go to Mu Jin’s house to tutor him.
Seeing Mu Jin’s prompt agreement, Qi Changfeng didn’t say much and turned to leave. However, before he could take a few steps, Mu Jin unexpectedly caught up with him.
Seeing the young man smiling and holding onto his arm, Qi Changfeng looked at him with some confusion, as if asking what else he wanted.
Unexpectedly, Mu Jin stuffed a candy into his hand and cheerfully said, “Thanks, it’s a gift for you!” After saying that, he turned and ran away.
Watching the young man vanish like the wind at the street corner, Qi Changfeng, holding the candy in his hand, remained stunned for a while. After hesitating for a moment, he finally opened the candy wrapper.
The light green candy was crystal clear and had an attractive appearance. Unconsciously, Qi Changfeng put it in his mouth. However, as soon as it touched his tongue, he couldn’t help but furrow his brows.
Sour! It’s so sour that it makes your tongue curl up and your face pucker.
Just as he was about to spit out the candy, he realized that after the initial layer of sourness receded, the inside tasted purely sweet. The fragrance of apple spread throughout his mouth, sweet and delightful, reaching deep into his heart.
Turning quickly, he saw a certain young man who he thought had completely disappeared, standing at a not-so-far street corner. The young man grinned at him, then turned and disappeared completely this time.
Qi Changfeng, looking puzzled, held the candy in his hand for a while before reluctantly opening the candy wrapper again.
The heartwarming sweetness made him admit that it was indeed quite pleasant.
This little rascal really loved playing pranks.
Unaware that his gaze had softened because of someone, the young man, in a rare good mood, returned home.
The next day, Qi Changfeng had a very calm day at school, not being harassed by any troublemakers. Mu Jin didn’t specifically approach him for a conversation, but occasionally, when passing by his seat, he would wink at him.
Watching the cute and oblivious appearance with cat-like pupils, Qi Changfeng lowered his eyes and didn’t respond much. However, inexplicably, he felt that perhaps he had never seriously observed this young man named Mu Jin before.
Now, taking a closer look, despite his seemingly carefree and mischievous behavior, this person was simply someone you couldn’t get tired of. It seemed like he naturally exuded an affable temperament.
In the evening after school, following their agreement, Qi Changfeng waited for Mu Jin at a street corner not far from the school. After a while, he saw Mu Jin, carrying his school bag, running towards him.
Upon seeing Qi Changfeng, Mu Jin immediately punched his shoulder and said with a smile, “Keeping your promise, brother! I was afraid you’d leave when I got caught by Mr. Wang for cleaning!”
The Mr. Wang that Mu Jin mentioned was, of course, their class teacher. Mu Jin, following the behavior habits of the original owner, still didn’t lack a bit of small mischief. After all, no one would suddenly transform from a troublemaker to a well-behaved student.
“I’ll keep my promise if I agree,” Qi Changfeng replied in a calm tone, seemingly not bothered by the fact that Mu Jin had delayed his time. Then he followed Mu Jin to a nearby residential area.
It was an old-style neighborhood, and the apartment buildings looked a bit outdated. Qi Changfeng looked around as they walked, and seeing his gaze, Mu Jin explained, “My home is here. Shall we study at my place?”
Qi Changfeng nodded at Mu Jin’s words, having no objections to the location Mu Jin chose.
The old building had no elevator, and after climbing three floors, Mu Jin took out his keys and opened the somewhat outdated security door in the middle, entering the house.
The hallway was a mess with shoes scattered everywhere. Mu Jin was a little embarrassed when he saw this, and he quickly kicked the shoes aside. He turned to him and explained with a rare blush, “I’m sorry, I was in a hurry this morning and I didn’t have time to clean up.”
Qi Changfeng shook his head when he heard this. He didn’t really care, but he noticed that there were at least four or five pairs of shoes scattered around, including a pair of rain boots that Mu Jin had worn just last week when it was raining. It didn’t seem like Mu Jin was simply too busy in the morning to clean up.
Following Mu Jin into the room, he noticed that the furnishings were quite complete. However, it seemed that, judging from the belongings, everything belonged to Mu Jin alone. Curious, Qi Changfeng looked at the young man beside him and casually asked, “Do you live alone?”
Mu Jin, taking off his school uniform and tossing it on the sofa, replied nonchalantly, “Yeah, my parents died in a car accident three years ago. Later, I’ve been living here alone.”
“My aunt originally wanted me to live with her, but she’s in another city. I still like it here, my own home. Besides, my aunt has her own family and kids. I can’t go and bother them, right?”
Hearing Mu Jin’s words, Qi Changfeng couldn’t help but feel a bit strange. So, the other person’s parents had passed away long ago. His own mother had died a few years ago, and he had been managing his life alone. Unexpectedly, they had such a similar aspect.
However, watching Mu Jin calmly discuss this topic, he seemed to have completely moved on from the grief of losing loved ones. Qi Changfeng’s mood also didn’t feel as heavy as before.
The house was indeed a bit messy, but one could still feel the warm and cozy style of the decor. Qi Changfeng thought that Mu Jin’s parents must have lived happily as a family of three.
Later, Mu Jin briefly explained the location of the bathroom and a few rooms in the house to Qi Changfeng. Since the original owner’s parents passed away, he had locked their bedroom, and his aunt only occasionally stayed there when she visited.
Usually, the original owner stayed in the living room and his own room. His aunt would occasionally visit, helping clean up or buying things he needed.
The original owner’s aunt was somewhat well-off, and their family was harmonious. Therefore, she was quite generous when giving the original owner living expenses. However, the original owner, being stubborn, knew that his parents had only left this house and almost no savings. Thus, he was reluctant to accept too much money from his aunt, thinking it was enough for food and necessities.
Mu Jin, however, found it fine. He was willing to repay those who treated him sincerely.
Taking Qi Changfeng to his room, Mu Jin poured water into a cup and handed it to him, asking, “What do you want to eat tonight?”
Qi Changfeng raised an eyebrow at the question, “Are you cooking?”
Upon hearing Qi Changfeng’s words, Mu Jin, with a hint of difference in his expression, raised his head. “Of course, this is my home.”
“It doesn’t matter, anything is fine.” Hearing that Mu Jin was personally going to cook, Qi Changfeng was a bit curious. Considering that Mu Jin had once offered to bring him lunch, could it be that he personally cooked the meals he mentioned?
Who knew Mu Jin walked toward the kitchen, casually saying, “Then, I’ll make what I’m good at. I’m best at cooking instant noodles. I’ll add an egg and some vegetables. This is special treatment!”
Qi Changfeng, hearing Mu Jin’s words, was stunned for a moment but couldn’t help feeling that it made sense. Hearing the clattering noises coming from the kitchen, it didn’t sound like cooking.
In the end, unable to resist, he entered the kitchen. There he saw Mu Jin clumsily dealing with a few sad-looking vegetables, making loud chopping noises that resulted in unattractive pieces.
Frowning, Qi Changfeng decisively took the knife from Mu Jin’s hand to stop the noise. Then he opened the refrigerator and started looking inside.
There weren’t many vegetables in the fridge. He found two tomatoes, a bit of greens, eggs, and a piece of ham. With limited ingredients, he couldn’t make any sophisticated dishes. Considering this, he casually stir-fried tomatoes and eggs, sautéed some greens and ham, and cooked a pot of rice.
Having lived alone for so long, Qi Changfeng was used to cooking. However, for some reason, he unexpectedly found himself making a meal for the person across from him.
Since he had already started, there was no need to be awkward. Qi Changfeng simply took the remaining spinach and eggs to make a simple soup. After finishing all this, he noticed that the young man beside him was staring at him in amazement.
Although he felt a bit abnormal, Qi Changfeng could only console himself while serving a proper dinner after a day of classes.
But didn’t he learn last time?
I think the mc just acting he can’t cook so Ml will do the cooking 🤔
