Tyrant Meets Paranoid [Quick Transmigration] – Chapter 308

Chapter 308- Cultured Villain vs. Humanoid Weapon (13)

Mu Jin sprinted along the path, sensing that the mutated plant was located in a small grove not far from the farmhouse. It was already late, so he picked up his pace, hoping to return before nightfall.

After about half an hour, he reached his destination—a lush meadow. As he arrived, he sensed a remarkable concentration of spiritual energy in the area. This felt oddly out of place to Mu Jin; after all, this was a post-apocalyptic world. Could these so-called “mutated plants” actually be treasures of nature?

Following the densest concentration of energy, he pushed aside a clump of grass and discovered a small, pale yellow plant nestled within.

The color of the plant stood out slightly against the surrounding greenery, though it was quite small and hidden beneath the taller grass, making it easy for others to overlook. But to Mu Jin, it was impossible to miss. This mutated plant looked somewhat unusual, especially with its spiral-shaped leaves. The energy it emitted bore a strong resemblance to that of a wind-element ability user.

Reflecting on this, Mu Jin mused that these ability users seemed somewhat akin to cultivators with different elemental roots. Perhaps these mutated plants, which aided cultivation, were similarly attuned to specific elemental abilities.

A quick inspection confirmed it—this small plant was indeed a treasure suited for the cultivation of wind-element abilities.

Since he’d discovered such a valuable find, there was no reason to leave it behind. With a quick, deft move, Mu Jin uprooted the plant and pocketed it.

Although he couldn’t shake the strange feeling that finding something so reminiscent of spiritual plants from a cultivation world was odd in this setting, he decided to temporarily set aside his suspicions. After dusting off his clothes, he swiftly headed back.

When Mu Jin returned to his room, he found Jian Minghui sitting in a chair, staring blankly into space.

The moment Jian Minghui saw Mu Jin, his eyes lit up, and his whole demeanor brightened. He had indeed spent quite some time that day deepening his understanding of his newly awakened psychic abilities and had been practicing for hours.

Throughout this process, his perception had always been present, and he even subtly tried to use his mental abilities on Mu Jin, wanting to stay close to his beloved and reluctant for him to move beyond his awareness.

When Mu Jin left the room, Jian Minghui was aware of it and decisively followed him with his mental abilities. Though training in the room made it inconvenient for intimate moments, he couldn’t bear the thought of Mu Jin being too far away after just being together.

Unexpectedly, the mental link he’d placed on Mu Jin didn’t last long before he lost track of him. Or rather, Mu Jin had moved so far out of his sensory range that his mental abilities couldn’t lock onto him at all.

This made Jian Minghui anxious. The feeling of not being in complete control left him in a foul mood.

After practice, he couldn’t help but circle around the team’s camp area a few times, hoping to catch a glimpse of Mu Jin, but he returned to his room disappointed, forced to wait quietly.

When Mu Jin finally returned, Jian Minghui was naturally overjoyed. He knew he was probably overthinking things, yet he still showed a somewhat aggrieved expression in front of Mu Jin.

He beckoned Mu Jin over, and when he came close, Jian Minghui pulled him into his embrace. Seeing Mu Jin sitting dazedly on his lap, he felt a sense of satisfaction.

Burying his head deeply in Mu Jin’s neck, Jian Minghui took a deep breath, savoring his beloved’s scent. Only then did his heart, which had been hanging in suspense, finally feel at ease.

Unable to hold back, he furrowed his brow slightly and spoke, “Xiao Jin, where did you go? I was just looking everywhere for you.”

His soft tone, tinged with grievance and a trace of petulant murmuring, made Mu Jin’s heart tremble.

Since arriving in this world, his lover had always acted like a seasoned old fox, handling everything with ease. Although a bit shy in their intimate moments, he had never before shown such a soft and tender side, playfully whining like this.

The tone of Jian Minghui’s voice made Mu Jin fall for him all over again. Feeling his lover’s tight embrace, he quickly apologized, “I had something to take care of just now and left for a bit. I’m sorry—I’ll make sure to let you know ahead of time next time.”

Jian Minghui didn’t lift his head at Mu Jin’s words; he simply held him tightly and murmured a soft “Mm” into his neck, still seeming a bit upset, which made Mu Jin feel slightly worried.

“Jian Minghui, don’t be mad. I promise next time I won’t leave without saying anything. Will you forgive me?” Mu Jin said as he gently cupped his lover’s face in his hands.

He knew exactly how to win over his man, so he softened up, playing cute without regard for his own pride. Blinking his large, cat-like eyes, he leaned forward and kissed Jian Minghui’s chin.

The soft touch against his skin made Jian Minghui’s gaze darken. He then lowered his head and kissed Mu Jin deeply, stopping only when the man in his arms was breathless.

Seeing Mu Jin still panting, a glint flashed in Jian Minghui’s eyes behind his glasses.

He rested his chin on Mu Jin’s head and, where Mu Jin couldn’t see, a slight smile curled at the corner of his mouth. In a quiet voice, he said, “If you do this again, it won’t be so easy to get away with it.”

Hearing his lover’s dangerous tone, Mu Jin shuddered instinctively and quickly shook his head, pledging his loyalty and promising not to repeat his actions.

Then he remembered what he had collected earlier. He pulled a small, yellow herb from his pocket, slightly wilted from being casually kept.

“What’s this?” Jian Minghui asked, taking the herb in his hand. He found the spiral-shaped leaves intriguing.

He wondered if this unusual little plant was something his sweetheart had picked specially for him as a gesture of affection. Thinking back on how people used to give roses or flowers to express love, he realized it was no small feat to pick a rose in the apocalypse.

Although this little yellow herb looked a bit unusual, since his sweetheart had picked it especially for him, he could gladly accept it.

With this thought, a small smile appeared on his face. He looked down, his gaze serious as he looked at Mu Jin and said, “Did you pick this just for me, Xiao Jin? I really like it.”

Mu Jin had been smiling at Jian Minghui, just about to bask in his approval, when his lover’s words suddenly made him choke. He shook his head cautiously and immediately sensed the atmosphere around Jian Minghui turning cold.

Despite this, Jian Minghui still maintained a polite smile on his face.

He narrowed his eyes dangerously and, in a soft tone, asked Mu Jin, “So, baby, who were you planning to give such a lovely plant to?”

“Let me guess—which lucky girl in the group has caught your attention?”

Seeing Jian Minghui on the verge of “darkening,” Mu Jin felt a chill run down his spine. He quickly waved his hands and said, “No, no, it’s for Lou Bin.”

“Oh? Lou Bin?” Jian Minghui raised an eyebrow at the mention of Lou Bin, genuinely surprised.

In his opinion, while Lou Bin wasn’t unattractive, he didn’t quite compare to himself. Moreover, Lou Bin had been part of their group for a while now. Although the four of them got along well, Jian Minghui hadn’t sensed any particularly close bond between Mu Jin and Lou Bin. Why would Mu Jin suddenly go out of his way to find such a unique plant to give to him?

The thought of Mu Jin preparing a token of affection for Lou Bin made a hint of hostility rise within him. He even began to quietly scheme about ways to ruin Lou Bin’s image in Mu Jin’s eyes, making sure Mu Jin would lose any interest in him.

Although Lou Bin was one of his few close friends and brothers, if he dared to compete for his partner, he’d have to face Jian Minghui’s wrath.

Seeing the expression on Jian Minghui’s face, Mu Jin knew he’d misunderstood. As he tried to calm him down, Mu Jin couldn’t help but feel a bit sorry for himself, suddenly realizing how spineless he seemed in front of his lover.

He had started off cool and impressive, so why did his image suddenly morph into that of a docile “little wife” the moment their relationship took an unexpected leap yesterday? It was honestly frustrating.

But once the frustration passed, Mu Jin found himself fully embracing his role as his lover’s devoted fanboy. He thought, why is my lover’s cultured-yet-dangerous demeanor so incredibly alluring? It just makes me want to pin him down even more!

In the end, Mu Jin explained to Jian Minghui the purpose of the small yellow herb. It was a mutated plant that helped wind-element ability users level up. Knowing that Lou Bin was his lover’s right-hand man, he had specifically planned to give it to him.

Jian Minghui’s expression softened slightly after hearing Mu Jin’s explanation, but he still held a bit of a grudge.

Why was it that he himself hadn’t received any token of affection from his beloved, yet Lou Bin got this unique, highly sought-after yellow herb? It was enough to make anyone jealous!

So, Jian Minghui decisively took the yellow wind herb from Mu Jin’s hands, stood up, and locked the door behind him. Then he turned around and gazed at Mu Jin with a gentle look.

Sensing danger, Mu Jin instinctively took two steps back, but he couldn’t evade fast enough and was swiftly pulled into Jian Minghui’s embrace.

In a voice full of feigned grievance, Jian Minghui coaxed, “Xiao Jin, I’m so jealous. You prepared something so important for Lou Bin, but I have nothing.”

Mu Jin blinked at Jian Minghui’s words, then obligingly asked, “So, what should we do about it?”

Jian Minghui looked down at his obedient darling, licking his lips as he leaned close to his ear and whispered, “I want compensation.”

Understanding his lover’s usual tricks, Mu Jin raised an eyebrow and mercilessly exposed him, “You know, I specifically found this mutated plant because of you. If it weren’t for Lou Bin being your man, I wouldn’t be helping him out at all. So why am I the one who has to compensate you?”

Mu Jin expected that this would leave Jian Minghui speechless, but instead, after a brief pause, Jian Minghui flashed a brilliant smile, nodding as he said, “You’re absolutely right, my baby—it’s my fault. I’ll make sure to express my apologies properly! Now, let me show you how sincere I am.”

With that, Jian Minghui promptly pressed Mu Jin down onto the bed in the bedroom. Any attempts at protest were swallowed up by his kisses. Mu Jin, dazed, thought to himself, ‘This “sincerity” might be a little too much. Ugh… my arms are so sore…’

After enjoying his “reward,” Jian Minghui was quite satisfied, treating it like an appetizer to his meal. He coaxed Mu Jin into drinking more milk, convincing him that, while he may have outgrown his growing years, drinking plenty of milk would still help him “grow taller.”

At first, Mu Jin didn’t think he could drink any more, but Jian Minghui’s persuasion was too effective. In his haze, Mu Jin ended up drinking quite a lot, thinking he probably wouldn’t have any appetite left for dinner.
