Tyrant Meets Paranoid [Quick Transmigration] – Chapter 270

Chapter 270- Gloomy Blood Servant vs. Obsessive Vampire Prince (03)

At first, Huangfu Yu thought he had been kidnapped. However, after he finally managed to escape with great difficulty, he discovered he was still in his family’s old mansion.

By chance, he overheard a conversation between his grandfather and the butler, which made Huangfu Yu realize that he was merely a substitute for others—an expendable blood sacrifice in their eyes.

Upon learning the truth, Huangfu Yu felt a surge of anger. He wanted to flee, but he was soon discovered and captured. To ensure he wouldn’t reveal what he knew, Huangfu Hongzhi ordered someone to drug him, rendering him mute, and then sent him to the Malkavian family’s estate.

Huangfu Yu finally understood the reason for his years of neglect and why, despite his efforts, his grandfather had never spared him a glance.

Now, he had nothing and had even become a mute. He felt a profound sadness, as if the first half of his life had been a joke, and he could only resign himself to being delivered into the hands of the vampires.

However, after arriving at the Malkavian family, Huangfu Yu discovered that the fate awaiting him was not as tragic as he had imagined. Although he still needed to provide blood, the Malkavian clan had many blood servants and did not need to force anyone to comply.

They had plenty of wealth and could easily buy many things, including fresh, exquisite blood. In fact, the blood servants offered by the Huangfu family were merely a tradition established long ago.

Many generations ago, the Huangfu family had started deceiving the Malkavian clan. The individuals they sent were not valued; they were merely used as substitutes. After providing fresh blood to the Malkavian family for a while, these blood servants could choose to leave or remain.

If they chose to leave, the Malkavian family would even provide them with a generous financial compensation. However, if they decided to stay or were chosen by a vampire and turned into one, they would no longer be allowed any contact with their former family. This was one of the Malkavian clan’s principles.

The people sent later as substitutes had long lost hope in the Huangfu family. Even though they didn’t know they were mere stand-ins, they could sense their unfavorable treatment within the family.

To make them resemble true heirs, these substitutes from the Huangfu family were often given a good education, which naturally satisfied the Malkavian vampires, leading them to consider turning these individuals.

Aside from eternal life, there were also other temptations. So even though becoming a vampire carried the risk of failure, these people still preferred to remain with the Malkavians rather than return to a family devoid of warmth.

Only one blood servant was sent every thirty years, so even after several centuries, the number of people who had been sent to the Malkavian clan remained very low. Adding in the vampires who failed the transformation process, very few remained, and this information had never leaked out.

Afterward, Huangfu Yu chose to stay in the Malkavian family voluntarily. He was fortunate to catch the eye of a fourth-generation vampire and successfully underwent the transformation.

Although Huangfu Yu’s throat had been damaged and he could have healed it later, the trauma caused by the Huangfu family left a deep scar. He refused to heal his voice as a way to remember the harm he had endured.

In the storyline, Huangfu Yu played a significant role in helping the Malkavian clan quickly uncover the Huangfu family’s schemes. In fact, Huangfu Hongzhi ultimately died at his hands.

Unfortunately, no matter how hard he tried, he remained just a villain. Without the protagonist’s halo of fate, he ultimately could not escape his destiny of being defeated by the main character.

As for Mu Jin, his identity in this lifetime was that of the patriarch of the Malkavian family branch in H Country. After the holy war, the vampires were greatly weakened and scattered. The Malkavian family, as a secret society, no longer wished to involve itself in these conflicts.

The second generation of vampires had almost completely perished, leaving the third generation as the most prosperous. Mu Jin, being one of the strongest vampires among the third generation of the Malkavian family, led a small branch and departed from their original territory.

The original host did not want to get involved in the conflicts and had grown weary of the struggles, so he chose a distant land as his refuge, where he could slowly recuperate and thrive.

H Country was not the birthplace of vampires, so their numbers were relatively few. After the Malkavian family branch migrated here, they gradually took control and became the most powerful force among the vampires in this country.

The original host had always had a fondness for ancient Eastern culture, which is why he chose this place as his migration destination. Upon arriving, he even adopted an Eastern name for himself, Mu Jin.

On the surface, the Malkavian family also took on the name of the Mu family, and under the leadership of the original host, the Mu family quickly rose to the pinnacle in H Country.

Unfortunately, no matter how exceptional the Malkavian family’s vampires are in terms of insight and intelligence, they can never escape the fate of their blood being cursed and tainted. Once they are embraced, that cursed blood will pollute their minds, leading to various states of mental disorder.

Fortunately, the original host was exceptionally gifted, with strong skills in pharmacology and medicine. After spending several years, he developed a potion that could suppress this mental turmoil.

The potion was widely applied among the clan members he had brought along, successfully eliminating the mental disturbances that would occur in the third-generation vampires, allowing them to live like normal vampires.

Thus, the original host is regarded as a supreme being among the members of this branch, and all the vampires brought to H Country are utterly devoted to him.

Without the original host and his potions, they would likely succumb to the unstable factors in their blood, ultimately becoming madmen controlled by hallucinations.

Unfortunately, while the original host’s abilities were effective for others, they were useless for himself. As a powerful third-generation vampire, the potions he created could only slightly alleviate his own condition.

Every so often, he would still experience uncontrollable bouts of madness, accompanied by paranoia, irritability, and even hallucinations.

Hundreds of years ago, as his condition continued to deteriorate, the original host chose to sleep more often. The room where Mu Jin resided was specially crafted to prevent him from bursting out when he lost his sanity and harming his kin.

However, no matter how mad he appeared to others, he was still viewed as a powerful figure by his subordinates and, when lucid, a successful leader.

While the original host was in deep sleep, his subordinate, the fourth-generation vampire Wallis, managed the clan’s affairs. He kept the Mu family’s businesses well-organized, and had the protagonist not appeared, the Mu family would have likely flourished even further.

After reviewing the original host’s situation, Mu Jin didn’t have time to mourn for the Malkavian family. Though his character was incredibly powerful, he spent most of his time in hibernation. Even when the Malkavian family was attacked by the protagonist, the original host remained asleep and never woke up.

This was likely due to the fear instilled in his subordinates after the original host’s previous episodes of violent madness. They were terrified that if he awoke in an unstable state, something irreversible could happen.

In fact, even at the end of the story, when the protagonist wiped out the entire Malkavian family at their estate, the original host never appeared. However, they eventually found his ornate coffin in the basement and used a silver spike to pierce his heart, ending his life.

The original host was killed in his sleep, without ever having the chance to demonstrate his power. But, to be fair, the story had to be written that way. While the protagonist’s combat ability was impressive, it was still no match for the original host.

If the original host had truly awakened, the protagonist’s strength wouldn’t have been enough. He would have been crushed long before he had a chance to challenge the Malkavian family.

Mu Jin sighed at his character. Although the original host sounded lofty and powerful, in reality, he was nothing more than a background character who didn’t even make an appearance in the main plot. Mu Jin had to sift through a mountain of plot details just to find a few scattered mentions of the original host.

However, Mu Jin didn’t mind being a background character. As long as he had the strength, that was enough.

Although the original host’s mental issues were indeed difficult to overcome, now that Mu Jin was here, his talent for creating medicines far surpassed that of the original host. Not to mention, with the help of 003 and Senior Teng Gen in his consciousness, even if some mental problems remained, they would certainly not hinder Mu Jin’s ability to function.

Mu Jin then checked the current timeline and discovered that his lover had just been sent to the Malkavian family estate, not far from where he was. This realization made him quite happy.

However, the thought of his lover, devastated and utterly disillusioned, with no goodwill left for the vampires and his voice poisoned and silenced, made Mu Jin’s heart fill with anger. He almost wanted to storm into the Huangfu family right now and tear Huangfu Yu’s wretched father to pieces.

Taking a deep breath, Mu Jin reminded himself not to act rashly. After all, his lover was still on the opposite side. Avenging him wasn’t out of the question, but Mu Jin knew his man well—there were some grudges that he would want to settle personally. Mu Jin would simply have to be the one to hand him the weapon.

More importantly, considering their current circumstances and identities, how could he convince his lover to willingly stay by his side and even fall in love with him? That was still a challenge.

Thinking of the thousands of years they had spent sweetly together, only to start over again in a new world, Mu Jin couldn’t help but feel a bit disheartened. Although he had gone through this kind of situation many times before, it always left him feeling slightly deflated. But the thought that the person he was doing this for was the one he loved most made him believe that, no matter how difficult, he could endure it.
