Chapter 268- Gloomy Blood Servant vs. Obsessive Vampire Prince (01)
The Daoist Companion Ceremony was held in the grand hall of the Demon Lord’s palace, with many attendees from the Qingliu Sect. They had the chance to experience the unique sights of the demon city, which was quite different from human cities.
Unfortunately, after Ning Yizhou became the Demon Lord, he could no longer stay in human territories for extended periods, as there were many affairs within the demon realm that required his attention. Naturally, Mu Jin stayed with him, though they still frequently returned to visit the Qingliu Sect.
With Lin Yuan as a capable assistant, Ning Yizhou’s workload lightened significantly. Other than the initial efforts required to handle the people and matters left behind by the previous Demon Lord, the rest of his responsibilities became more manageable.
Thus, Ning Yizhou and Mu Jin quickly resumed their sweet life, frequently spreading their affection in every corner of the demon city, much to the envy of others.
Perhaps influenced by Ning Yizhou and Mu Jin, Lin Yuan soon found himself unwilling to remain single any longer and started longing for a Daoist companion. With the improved relations between demon cultivators and human cultivators, and the example set by Ning Yizhou and Mu Jin, marriages between the two races became more frequent.
Lin Yuan, whose true form was a white snake, had been single for many years and was eager to find a suitable Daoist companion but had never met anyone who captured his heart. Unexpectedly, as interaction between human and demon cultivators increased, he took a liking to Ning Yizhou’s junior, Mao Kun.
However, Mao Kun did not return Lin Yuan’s affections and rejected him. Despite the rejection, Lin Yuan remained persistent and refused to give up. Even with a busy schedule, he always found time to seek out Mao Kun, and whenever they were together, it would cause chaos, much to Mu Jin’s amusement.
In this lifetime, Mu Jin and his lover continued to live a very happy life together. Since this world was of a high level, ascending to a higher plane was not an easy task and required even greater effort.
After some time spent cultivating, Mu Jin reached the Nascent Soul stage. However, his cultivation was mainly for the purpose of being able to stay with his lover for a longer period. As expected, once he reached the later stages of Nascent Soul, further progress became extremely difficult for everyone.
Mu Jin accompanied Ning Yizhou in this world for thousands of years. Only when their lifespans reached their natural limits did Mu Jin follow his lover out of this realm.
Because of the previous encounter with the artifact that had the potential to harm his lover, Mu Jin was particularly cautious when they left this world. He carefully checked their surroundings, ensuring that everything was in order before finally departing.
What Mu Jin didn’t know was that after he and Qiong Qi’s souls left this plane, two small orbs of light—one red and one white—rose into the sky. Slowly, they merged with two larger orbs high above. The white orb shone brightly, like the sun, while the red orb, despite absorbing a bit of its origin energy, only grew dimmer, as if it were about to fade away completely.
The white orb moved closer to the red one and shimmered. In an instant, it transformed into an incomparably handsome man dressed in white. His aura was sharp and imposing. He gazed at the weakly glowing red orb and furrowed his brows slightly. Reaching out, he gently tapped the red orb, which immediately brightened.
The red orb, which had been on the verge of disappearing, seemed to regain some of its strength, but it was quickly captured by the white-clad immortal.
Seeing the red orb wobbling as it tried to escape his grasp and fly out of the realm, the man raised an eyebrow, clicked his tongue, tightened his grip, and chuckled, “Still not had enough fun, little thing? You really are persistent.”
After the man finished speaking, he casually shook his hand, and the orb of light transformed into a man dressed in black with red hair. The red-haired man wore a cold, stern expression as he silently observed the white-clad immortal in front of him, not saying a word.
Despite the other’s distant demeanor, the white-clad immortal seemed entirely unfazed. Instead, he smirked, lifted the man’s chin, and gazed into his ruby-like eyes, studying them closely.
Though the man was called an embodiment of malice, his eyes were pure and clear, which filled the immortal with a sense of admiration. He couldn’t help but want to claim those eyes as his own, to make them part of his treasured collection.
Unable to resist, he reached out, wanting to touch the man’s eyes. Although he knew the man was only complying due to their significant difference in strength, the immortal was nonetheless in an exceptionally good mood.
He chuckled softly, finding it all the more amusing. After living for so long, boredom had plagued him for years. It had been a long time since anything had sparked such intense interest in him.
After injecting another trace of energy into Shadow, the man finally let him leave the realm, and he himself transformed into a white orb of light, following closely behind.
Since Mu Jin had stayed in the cultivation world for quite some time, after leaving, he briefly rested within his spiritual sea before immersing himself in a new world.
Upon waking again, before he even opened his eyes, Mu Jin felt an intense, throbbing pain in his head. The pain came like a violent storm, disrupting his inner peace—a sensation he hadn’t experienced in a long time.
Mu Jin couldn’t understand why he was in such a state. His eyes suddenly snapped open, and within his blood-red gaze was a chilling frost, laced with a hint of madness.
The sharp fangs at Mu Jin’s lips almost pierced through his lower lip, and his nails extended as he rose and let out a violent roar. The sound carried an undeniable power, sending chills through everyone in the manor, making them tremble with fear.
However, no one dared to approach the door to the room. They had no idea what might happen if they opened it—whether they would be torn to pieces by the master in his violent state.
“Xiao Jin!” 003’s anxious voice echoed in Mu Jin’s mind. The system quickly allocated a significant amount of energy to help repair the chaotic state of his brain. Teng Gen, seeing 003’s frantic efforts, also contributed a thread of energy to speed up Mu Jin’s recovery.
With the combined assistance of Teng Gen and the system, the excruciating headache finally began to subside. Mu Jin was drenched in sweat, his back soaked through with cold perspiration. The pain felt as though his very soul had been torn apart.
Fortunately, he could discern that the issue wasn’t with his original soul but rather a problem stemming from the brain of the body he now inhabited. This realization allowed him to breathe a sigh of relief.
The sudden episode had drained Mu Jin of much of his energy. So, when the pain was finally repaired by 003, he couldn’t resist closing his eyes again, quickly slipping back into unconsciousness without even taking a moment to examine his surroundings.
As a result, he didn’t realize that he was lying inside an ornate coffin, surrounded by walls made from special materials and black crystal. No matter how much he had raged, it would have been nearly impossible to completely destroy the room.
When the noise inside the room finally ceased, everyone in the manor let out a collective sigh of relief. A trembling servant approached a man in a tailored suit and gold-rimmed glasses, whispering, “Lord Wallis, should we offer blood to the master?”
Wallis adjusted the glasses on his cheek, shook his head, and said, “No need for now. If the master needs anything, he will summon us. Just make sure to do your part.”
Hearing this, the servant quickly nodded and bowed his head, retreating nervously.
When Mu Jin woke up again, he couldn’t tell what time it was. The room was pitch black, with no way to distinguish between day and night—there wasn’t even a window. Frowning slightly in confusion, Mu Jin wondered if he was being held captive.
As he sat up, he realized that he had been resting in a luxurious coffin. The interior of the coffin was surprisingly soft and comfortable, but despite this, Mu Jin wasn’t used to lying in one.
Could it be that when he arrived here, the original owner of this body had already died? But judging by the appearance of the room, that didn’t seem likely.
Since guessing wouldn’t lead to any answers, Mu Jin decided not to dwell on it. He asked 003 to transmit the plot of this world into his mind.
After reviewing the storyline, Mu Jin understood that this world was set in a modern context.
Initially, based on the eerie appearance of the room and the fact that he had been lying in a coffin, Mu Jin thought he had somehow become a ghost king or some other supernatural being. However, after examining the plot more closely, he realized that this world had a significant fantasy element.
The protagonist of this world was named Huangfu Jian. Huangfu Jian was an orphan who grew up in an orphanage. The hardships of his childhood shaped his strong and resilient character.
Fortunately, even though he never experienced the warmth of having parents around, Huangfu Jian’s childhood was filled with happiness, thanks to the kind-hearted orphanage director, teachers, and friends who supported him.
The male protagonist has always had an exceptional physique, with a quick learning ability and innate talent. As Huangfu Jian grew older, he became increasingly outstanding. He was able to fulfill his dream of being admitted to a prestigious university, becoming someone admired by his peers.
During his time at university, he even started his own company and began building a career. However, despite his success, Huangfu Jian started noticing a series of changes in his body after reaching adulthood.
His physical strength increased significantly, and his mental faculties seemed to sharpen, far beyond the range of ordinary people. Then, one night while returning home from his company, he encountered a group of robbers.
During the fight, Huangfu Jian awakened his bloodline. His teeth elongated, his nails became razor-sharp, and his movements were swift as the wind. The sudden transformation left him unable to control his newfound strength, and he ended up killing all the robbers who had tried to harm him.
Being able to single-handedly eliminate so many people so quickly left Huangfu Jian in shock once he regained his senses. He had no control over his powers and didn’t understand what had just happened. After the ordeal ended, he passed out.
When he woke up again, Huangfu Jian found himself in an unfamiliar villa. There, he met a man who introduced himself as his grandfather, Huangfu Hongzhi.
Huangfu Hongzhi revealed to Huangfu Jian that he carried the bloodline of a vampire. His father was the heir to the Huangfu family, while his mother was a member of the vampire race.
