Chapter 133 – Violent Useless vs. Delicate Cat (13)
The original owner had been the leader of the Mu family for quite some time, always decisive in his decisions and possessing immense soul power, which earned him a great reputation within the clan. When Mu Jin returned to the clan and announced that he was now a tenth-level Soul King, everyone was in awe of him.
These people greatly admired their clan leader, believing that Mu Jin was the hope for reviving the entire Mu clan. Seeing their admiration, Mu Jin didn’t hesitate to share his knowledge, which made the clan members even more grateful.
However, Mu Jin was somewhat puzzled by their strong reverence for soul power. After all, the Mu clan, though low-key, was quite influential. Even without comparing soul power, their financial and social standing made them one of the wealthiest and most prestigious clans. Their business spanned various industries, and they even had members with concealed identities holding high-ranking positions. It was unclear why they were so fixated on soul power.
But it wasn’t just them; all these clans were like that. Completing the original owner’s wish was something Mu Jin was committed to, so he didn’t mind sharing some of his insights with them. After assigning tasks to everyone, Mu Jin felt more at ease.
With the system 003 at his disposal, Mu Jin could easily manipulate information, especially with the support of the Mu clan. Getting someone into the senior high school at Saintlin Academy was a piece of cake.
So the next day, when Yan Yang arrived at school feeling dejected, the teacher announced to the entire class that they had a new transfer student.
Yan Yang, feeling downcast, was slumped over his desk, uninterested in meeting the new classmate. However, as soon as the transfer student entered the classroom and stood on the podium, the classroom began buzzing with whispers.
The young man had excellent hearing, and even though the murmurs were soft, he could hear what people were saying. Words like “This transfer student is so cute. I want to be friends with him!” and “How can someone so cute be a boy?” filled the air.
Annoyed by the noise, Yan Yang frowned and looked up, but the moment he saw the person standing on the podium, he couldn’t take his eyes off him.
The boy on the podium was strikingly handsome, with fair skin, dressed in the academy’s uniform, and a head of sleek black hair, though a small tuft stood up in the middle. His round face and moist cat-like eyes, along with his slightly upturned lips, made him appear as if he were smiling.
Xiao Jin! Yan Yang was stunned, instantly recognizing the boy as his little cat. Even though his hair color had changed and he didn’t have cat ears or a tail, he knew it was him.
Why was Xiao Jin at school, and why did he suddenly become the new transfer student in their class? Moreover, the teacher introduced him as Mu Jin, so who else could he be if not his little cat?
“Yan Yang, do you have a question?” The teacher noticed Yan Yang standing up without reason and spoke sternly, trying to get him back in line.
Yan Yang came to his senses, realizing he couldn’t confront Xiao Jin right now, so he slowly sat back down. However, his gaze remained fixed on the boy at the front, not moving even a bit.
Mu Jin, on the podium, was undeniably captivating, especially when he smiled during his introduction, revealing slight dimples, adding to his charm. The other students couldn’t help but become excited.
Yan Yang had always known his little cat was mesmerizing, with an aura that could easily attract people. Watching his classmates’ longing glances toward his cat, Yan Yang clenched his teeth in anger.
However, the others didn’t notice Yan Yang’s anger; all their attention was on Mu Jin at the front.
Despite his brief introduction, Mu Jin’s voice was exceptionally pleasant—clear and melodious, like a gentle stream.
When the teacher asked him to choose a seat, many students eagerly offered their spots, wanting to befriend the cute and charming new student.
But the new boy walked to the back of the classroom and stood in front of the most difficult student, asking, “Can I sit next to you?”
Everyone was shocked by Mu Jin’s choice, but after the initial surprise, they grew concerned because everyone knew Yan Yang’s reputation. He had a terrible temper, getting angry at the slightest thing, and sometimes resorting to violence, so no one dared sit beside him.
Who would have thought this fearless transfer student would choose to sit beside such a problematic boy, making even the teacher worry?
Even though the teacher wasn’t sure about Mu Jin’s background, the principal had hinted that he had significant connections. If something happened with Yan Yang and the new transfer student, it would be difficult to explain.
After some consideration, the class teacher kindly suggested to Mu Jin, “Mu Jin, perhaps you could choose a seat closer to the front; otherwise, you might have difficulty seeing the teaching materials.”
However, before the teacher even finished speaking, Yan Yang stood up and moved aside, allowing Mu Jin to take the inner seat.
This sudden gesture surprised both the surrounding students and the teacher, as none of them had expected Yan Yang to actually comply.
Mu Jin was pleased with his new seat and smiled at the teacher, saying, “No need, my eyesight is excellent, and I think this seat is perfect. Thank you.”
“Oh, alright then.” The class teacher smiled awkwardly and resumed the day’s lessons.
The other students, curious about Mu Jin, began stealing glances at him, but they quickly turned away when they noticed the hostile glare from Yan Yang. No one wanted to provoke the hot-tempered student who could explode at the slightest provocation.
When Yan Yang saw that no one else was coveting his little cat, his expression softened a bit. Glancing at Mu Jin beside him, he wanted to ask why he had been absent for three days, leaving him to worry so much.
Mu Jin was well aware of his lover’s sour mood and knew that his disappearance had made Yan Yang anxious. He hadn’t intended to be away for so long, but he had no choice.
Noticing the dark circles under Yan Yang’s eyes, Mu Jin felt a pang of guilt. He knew that his absence had caused his lover to lose sleep.
It wasn’t that Mu Jin was arrogant, but he knew that whenever he entered a new world and reunited with his lover, they generally wouldn’t stay apart for long. Even if their relationship wasn’t fully defined, separation would lead to anxiety and sleepless nights. And he felt the same way, missing Yan Yang during their time apart.
Ignoring Yan Yang’s sullen expression, Mu Jin knew his lover would never truly be angry with him and was likely just sulking. Taking advantage of the desk’s cover, he reached over to hold Yan Yang’s fingers.
Gently shaking Yan Yang’s hand, Mu Jin whispered, “Husband, haven’t you missed me these past few days?”
Yan Yang blushed at the affectionate term but turned away, refusing to respond out of stubbornness. Mu Jin found his lover’s childish behavior endearing and continued to hold his hand, eventually taking Yan Yang’s whole hand in his own. Then, he leaned closer and whispered, “Husband, you have no idea how much I’ve missed you these past few days!”
Yan Yang felt somewhat reassured by Mu Jin’s words, realizing that he wasn’t the only one who had missed his little cat. Mu Jin had also expressed how much he had missed him.
He pursed his lips and shot Mu Jin a stern look, saying through gritted teeth, “Don’t think you can get away with this so easily.”
Mu Jin quickly nodded, understanding that his lover wanted an explanation. So when it was lunchtime, he ignored the classmates who tried to approach him and followed Yan Yang to the school rooftop.
The rooftop was usually locked, but Yan Yang liked its quiet and undisturbed environment. He had even obtained a key to use the area for napping or escaping the school crowd. The teachers knew about it but didn’t interfere, thinking that if Yan Yang wasn’t causing trouble, that was already a blessing. They would rather have him up there napping than causing chaos elsewhere.
Yan Yang wasn’t carrying a lunchbox. He hadn’t been eating well for the past few days, so he didn’t bother bringing lunch to school, often going the whole day with an empty stomach. When he got home, he would eat some cookies or bread to fill the void.
Mu Jin found it odd that Yan Yang wasn’t carrying a lunchbox. Yan Yang noticed Mu Jin’s gaze lingering on his empty hands and, feeling slightly embarrassed, said, “I didn’t bring any lunch today.”
Mu Jin immediately understood why Yan Yang had skipped lunch, feeling a wave of guilt and a greater sense of compassion for his lover. He quickly moved over and kissed Yan Yang’s cheek, apologizing, “I’m sorry for making you worry about me.”
Yan Yang jumped aside in surprise, his face turning bright red. Despite his embarrassment, he stubbornly said, “No, it’s not because of you; I just accidentally forgot!”
