Chapter 128 – Violent Useless vs. Delicate Cat (08)
Yan Yang had never seen a cat react like this, and he found it quite amusing. But seeing how the kitten was guarding its tail and was so wary of him, he quickly shook the food bowl and laughed, saying, “Okay, okay, I won’t pull your tail again. Come eat.”
Only after Yan Yang promised not to touch his tail again did Mu Jin slowly inch back to the food bowl to continue eating. But this time, he was clearly more cautious, frequently looking up to keep an eye on Yan Yang.
Mu Jin was glad that his fur was thick enough to hide the fact that his face was turning red. Even though he was small, he was a grown cat, and he couldn’t believe that this world’s setting made his tail a sensitive point.
Just a light tug on his tail sent a shiver through his body, almost knocking him down, which was why he bristled and leaped away.
However, this did remind Mu Jin that he’d once heard from his spiritual beast friends that in their beast forms, tails were quite sensitive. For many beast clans, including the yokai, tails were extremely important, and only the most intimate partners were allowed to touch them. Touching a tail could even indicate an invitation for courtship.
Was tugging on the tail really that suggestive?
Mu Jin’s eyes gleamed with a newfound understanding. It seemed like some characteristics from this life might be worth exploring.
With Mu Jin’s company, Yan Yang didn’t feel as depressed about what had happened earlier that evening. When it was time to sleep, he and Mu Jin shared the bed again, the kitten curling up into a fluffy ball on his pillow. Yan Yang’s gaze softened as he leaned in and kissed Mu Jin’s forehead before closing his eyes and falling asleep.
That night, Yan Yang had a vivid dream. In the dream, he saw a boy with animal ears and a tail following him, professing his love. The boy’s ears and tail were white, and he claimed to be Xiao Jin, a cat yokai who’d lived for hundreds of years, only recently coming of age in the yokai world. He came to the human world and was injured, found by Yan Yang, and now wanted to marry him to show his gratitude.
The dream was hazy, and Yan Yang couldn’t make out the boy’s features, but they shared a moment of intimacy, leaving Yan Yang both confused and somewhat delighted.
The next morning, Yan Yang woke up, blushing as he recalled the strange dream. Perhaps it was because he was too lonely, or maybe he liked Xiao Jin too much. The kitten was just a cat; how could it turn into a human?
Grateful that it was the weekend and he didn’t have to rush to school, he lay back down to get some extra sleep. But when he turned over, he didn’t see the kitten on his pillow like usual.
Yan Yang quickly sat up and started searching for Mu Jin. He noticed a strange lump under his blanket, but it was too big to be just a kitten. He reached out hesitantly and touched it, feeling a solid shape underneath. Then the lump moved, startling him.
When he pulled back the blanket, he was left stunned. What he saw made his heart race.
Under the blanket was a sleeping boy with cat ears and a tail, peacefully curled up. The sight of the boy, so peaceful and serene, was a complete shock to Yan Yang.
The boy’s face was clear, with a round, delicate nose and perfect features. Despite being asleep, his lips curved into a slight smile, indicating he was having a pleasant dream.
Yan Yang was curious about the boy’s eyes—would they be the same brilliant green as Xiao Jin’s?
The boy’s long, white hair cascaded over his naked body. His fair skin seemed translucent, and just lying there, he was enough to capture Yan Yang’s attention.
Realizing the boy was undressed, Yan Yang quickly covered him with the blanket. He took a deep breath, feeling his heart racing, wondering if he was hallucinating.
But he couldn’t deny that the vision had been all too real, and he felt his heart pounding in his chest.
Mu Jin had been awake for a while; the night before, he felt his strength fully recover and decided to try shifting into human form. He even checked his appearance in the mirror, surprised to find that he looked like an alluring cat yokai, stunning and captivating.
003 had told him that this state was temporary and that the original owner could freely switch between three forms: the current half-beast form, the full beast form of a white cat, and human form. Mu Jin briefly experimented with the human form, finding it more normal, but decided to revert to the half-beast state.
Having shared so many worlds with his partner, Mu Jin knew the importance of keeping things interesting. Realizing his current form was intriguing, he decided to surprise his beloved by showing off this form’s unique allure.
003 had reminded Mu Jin that shifting into human form meant no clothing, suggesting he create some or wear Yan Yang’s clothes. But why bother with clothes? After living with his lover through so many worlds, what hadn’t his partner seen? With such an attractive appearance, Mu Jin felt he should flaunt it to dazzle his partner.
So, without any sense of shame, Mu Jin calmly snuggled into the boy’s bed, leading to the breathtaking sight Yan Yang saw when he woke up.
Pretending to sleep, Mu Jin twitched his ears, hearing Yan Yang’s rapid breathing and chuckling to himself. It seemed his actions had quite an impact on his lover.
Feeling the moment was right, Mu Jin slowly woke up, peeking out from under the covers and then gradually emerging. He glanced sleepily at Yan Yang, stretched out his arms to pull the boy into a hug, and kissed his cheek, softly saying, “Husband, you’re awake.”
Yan Yang was completely taken aback, not knowing how to react. The moment the boy kissed his cheek, his whole body tensed, and his face turned bright red.
It took him a while to gently try to push Mu Jin away, but the touch of the boy’s skin made his heart race even more. He quickly withdrew his hand, afraid of overstepping boundaries, and turned his head, not daring to look at Mu Jin.
He was confused yet thrilled. The boy’s cat ears and tail were just like he imagined—or perhaps even more mesmerizing. The boy’s green cat eyes were captivating, with a soft ripple that could almost hypnotize.
Especially when the boy smiled, the dimples on his cheeks were sweet enough to make someone fall in love. It was almost as if he were enchanted.
Taking a deep breath, Yan Yang tried to calm himself. Blushing, he coughed and asked, “Who are you?”
As soon as he spoke, he heard a sobbing sound. Turning back, he saw the boy looking at him with tear-filled eyes, pouting and saying, “Husband, you don’t recognize me? I’m Xiao Jin!”
“Xiao…Jin?” Yan Yang was stunned. Even though he’d had his suspicions, hearing the boy confirm it was still shocking.
He quickly checked the boy’s neck and saw the tag he’d made for the kitten. The boy’s white cat ears and long tail left no doubt—he was indeed Xiao Jin. Yan Yang realized he’d brought home not just any cat, but a cat yokai.
The look in Yan Yang’s eyes grew complicated. After a moment of hesitation, he repeated, “Are you really Xiao Jin?”
The boy nodded vigorously, then smiled with joy, saying, “Husband, I’m really Xiao Jin. If you don’t believe me, touch my ears.”
Yan Yang blushed even more, but seeing the twitching cat ears, he couldn’t resist reaching out to rub them. The touch was surprisingly soft, confirming they were real, not some costume piece.
