President 7
Tang Xi was still fuming even after walking far away. It only occurred to him later—why did that person’s chest feel as hard as a wall?
After staying silent for a long time, 1551 finally spoke up: [Do you know who that was?]
Tang Xi, sneaking around like a cat, avoided everyone and slipped into the small teleportation corner. Taking a moment, he responded to the system: [Who?]
He looked decent, but his temper was terrible.
He added another comment: [Anyway, I don’t like him.]
1551 couldn’t bear to watch: [That was the original story’s gong!]
Tang Xi froze. Before he could even process what had been said, he was teleported away.
He didn’t have time to be shocked—he quickly transformed back into a small kitten and landed with a soft plop on the bedroom floor.
[What did you just say???]
1551 repeated itself, emphasizing loudly: [That was Shen Chensi—the one who will eventually take over the villain’s entire company.]
Though for now, he was just a high school student who had yet to experience the harshness of society.
Tang Xi, in his cat form, plopped onto the floor, sucking in a sharp breath: [Classmate Ye is such a nice person—why is his CP so fierce?!]
1551 explained: [Right now, they’re complete rivals, it’s not until university that they start developing feelings for each other.]
[But before that happens, the villain is supposed to fall for Ye Qian first. Now that you’ve met both of them, hurry up and push them together! As long as they establish their relationship before He Wang falls for Ye Qian, even if He Wang later notices Ye Qian due to the world’s strong fate, he’ll still keep his distance.]
[The first world’s mission is ridiculously easy.]
Hearing this, Tang Xi was a bit skeptical: [Alright then.]
He went back to review the high school conflicts between the two in the original plot. Secretly, he started forming a matchmaking plan and decided to give it a try the next day.
Knock, knock, knock.
The bedroom door was gently rapped on. Even though he knew there was only a little kitten inside, the butler still followed protocol and knocked three times before entering.
“Meow?” Is it time to eat?
Tang Xi happily trotted over on his short little legs, quickly reaching the butler and tilting his small face up, meowing expectantly.
The butler smiled, “Tangkuai, Grandpa Butler is here to take you to dinner.”
To help the kitten get used to its name as soon as possible, the butler followed the veterinarian-nutritionist’s advice and called him by his name at every opportunity.
Tang Xi obediently let himself be carried away. He had already resigned himself to his new name and didn’t resist at all.
Lunch wasn’t as lavish as breakfast, but there was a little extra egg yolk. Tang Xi enjoyed his meal, devouring it like any enthusiastic little kitten, leaving no crumbs behind. Even after finishing, he licked his lips with lingering satisfaction.
After attempting to act cute and realizing there wouldn’t be any extra servings, he simply stretched out his little paws and began washing his face, handling everything himself like a well-behaved kitten.
The usually serious butler found himself growing more and more fond of him and personally carried the little kitten back to his room on the second floor.
Feeling completely lazy, Tang Xi sprawled out on the bed, stretching comfortably, his fluffy belly exposed.
1551 had to step in and urge him: [Hurry back to school. I checked for you—there’s hardly anyone on the field right now.]
Still drowsy from his meal, Tang Xi sluggishly climbed off the bed, transformed back into his human form, and stepped onto the teleportation point, disappearing back to school.
When he returned to the classroom, about half of the students were already back, with many dozing off on their desks for a quick nap.
He quietly slipped in through the back door and returned to his seat, greeting the school’s top student, Ye Qian.
Ye Qian looked at him warmly. “Are you a little sleepy? There’s still fifteen minutes before class starts. You can rest your head and nap for a bit—I’ll wake you when the teacher arrives.”
“How did you know I was sleepy?” Tang Xi blurted out instinctively.
His bright, sparkling eyes were filled with curiosity.
He had just yawned, even tearing up a little, yet he had no awareness of it at all.
Ye Qian was momentarily stunned by his gaze, then couldn’t help but chuckle. “You’re this curious—are you a little kitten?” After all, aren’t kittens always curious about everything?
Tang Xi was shocked. As expected of the child of fate—he could see right through him!
For a split second, he almost thought his cover was blown.
He quickly forced himself to stay calm: “You’re the kitten. Whatever, I’m going to sleep.”
Turning his head, he immediately lay down and dozed off, completely unaware that Ye Qian was still watching him with a faint smile.
In the end, the afternoon drowsiness was too much, and Tang Xi ended up sleeping through all three afternoon classes, drifting in and out of dreams.
But the moment the school bell rang at five, he—like every other student—suddenly perked up, full of energy as if he had never been tired at all.
Ye Qian, who had spent three periods watching his adorable sleeping face, found it amusing. Pushing his notes toward Tang Xi, he asked, “Are you a day student or a boarding student?”
This school had an even mix of both.
Ye Qian himself was a boarding student. Though he received a monthly allowance from He Wang, he never went back to live with him, nor did he stay in the house that had been bought for the servants.
He usually chose to live in the school dormitory, and during breaks, he took on part-time jobs to rent cheap apartments. Most of the money He Wang gave him was actually saved up, with plans to pay it all back after graduating and securing a job.
He Wang never questioned his choices. The monthly allowance was just a drop in the ocean for him—he wouldn’t care even if he were supporting several Ye Qians. Where Ye Qian chose to live was of no concern to him. Still, the fact that his old friend’s nephew was so independent gave He Wang a certain level of initial respect for him.
Tang Xi: “I’m a day student.”
Hearing this, Ye Qian felt an inexplicable sense of disappointment. He stood up and said, “Then I guess I’ll see you tomorrow, little desk mate.”
“Oh.” Tang Xi hugged Ye Qian’s notes and obediently waved goodbye.
He deliberately pretended to pack his things slowly, waiting until only the duty students were left in the classroom before leaving. By this time, the campus had mostly emptied—everyone was either rushing to the cafeteria for dinner or hurrying home.
At a little past five, Tang Xi successfully returned home, transformed back into a small kitten, and contentedly trotted downstairs.
He didn’t have to worry about running into He Wang since the man always got off work at exactly six o’clock.
Dutifully, Tang Xi made sure to be downstairs before He Wang arrived, waiting in place like a perfect little house cat.
The moment He Wang pushed open the door, he was met with the sight of a golden, fluffy ball sitting obediently at the entrance, waiting for him. His expression unconsciously softened.
As soon as the little furball saw him, it immediately scampered over, its tiny paws tapping against the floor. Its fluffy tail was raised high, and its lake-green eyes were filled with pure reliance.
“Was Tangkuai well-behaved today?” He directed the question at the butler, though his gaze lingered on the kitten.
“He was very well-behaved, sir. After you left, he stayed in his room the entire time,” the butler replied with a slight bow.
Tang Xi, feeling proud, lifted his little cat head in agreement, as if affirming the butler’s words.
“Meow!”
He Wang’s lips carried a faint trace of amusement as he withdrew his gaze.
“Tonight, I’ll take you to the mall to pick out some things,” he said, bending down to scoop up the kitten, speaking to him as if he were having a serious conversation with another person.
In truth, he had already commissioned a full set of custom-made cat supplies—everything a cat could possibly need. Just the automatic litter box alone had cost over 100,000 yuan.
But custom orders took time, and after consulting a veterinarian, he decided to personally take the little furball out for a shopping trip.
His tone and expression were completely natural, as if he weren’t speaking to a kitten but to someone on equal footing. It was an attitude that made people feel at ease.
So much so that Tang Xi, caught off guard, instinctively nodded: “Meow.” Alright.
The moment he realized what he had done, a flicker of guilt crept up. He secretly peeked at He Wang, trying to see if he had noticed anything unusual.
But He Wang’s expression remained unchanged, as if he hadn’t paid any attention to the little kitten’s nodding.
Tang Xi let out a silent sigh of relief and relaxed, melting into a lazy puddle of fluff in He Wang’s arms.
Yet, from an angle he couldn’t see, He Wang’s gaze had turned frighteningly deep.
. . . . .
After dinner, the two of them drove to the mall. Since He Wang owned the place, there were no restrictions on bringing small animals inside. Without hesitation, he carried Tang Xi straight to the largest pet store in the shopping center.
Nestled in He Wang’s arms, Tang Xi curiously looked around, his bright green eyes darting left and right. He showed no signs of stress or fear, completely at ease.
He had already noticed that there were other pet stores on the lower floors, yet He Wang had come straight up here. Each store on this floor had unique, high-end interior designs—clearly a space meant for luxury shopping. There were also far fewer people here compared to the busier levels below.
Very much in line with a domineering CEO’s style, Tang Xi thought, secretly nodding in approval.
His lively and adorable presence instantly made him the center of attention. The young women shopping in the store were envious, but they only stole a few glances. They could tell from He Wang’s demeanor that he didn’t want to be disturbed, so none of them approached.
However, a handsome man carrying a cat while shopping in a luxury mall was bound to attract attention—no matter how intimidating his cold expression and imposing aura were. Inevitably, someone with enough courage stepped forward to strike up a conversation.
“Your kitten is really brave,” a girl dressed head to toe in designer brands suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
Though she was talking about the cat, her eyes never once left He Wang.
When He Wang ignored her, she didn’t back off in embarrassment. Instead, she quickly switched topics. “I have a Persian cat too, but it’s really timid.”
In reality, that Persian cat was just an impulse purchase she had made while shopping. Many of the girls in her social circle had started keeping pets, so she had followed the trend. However, after realizing the cat was too timid and not much fun to play with, she had left it to the servants and never paid it any attention.
Now, she deeply regretted it. The moment she saw He Wang holding a cat, she wished she had taken better care of hers—at least then, she’d have an excuse to strike up a conversation.
Seeing that He Wang still wasn’t responding and was only focused on browsing, she grew bolder and stepped a little closer. “President He, you must recognize me, right? I’m Xu Wan. You worked with my father before—we even met at a gala.”
Hearing the mention of the Xu family, Tang Xi suddenly perked up.
The original plot never specified who had tampered with He Wang’s car, causing his leg injury. But on the first day he saved He Wang, he overheard He Wang instructing his assistant, assistant Wang, to conduct a thorough investigation into the Xu family.
From the looks of it, this Xu Missy’s family might just be the culprit.
Tang Xi had been fine before, but the moment he lifted his head, the overpowering scent of Xu Wan’s perfume assaulted his sensitive nose. Unable to hold back, he let out a tiny sneeze.
Though the sound was soft, He Wang still noticed. Finally, he turned to directly face the chattering woman beside him.
Xu Wan had been excited, thinking she had finally caught his attention—until she saw the frown on his face.
“I’ve long heard that Miss Xu, as the only daughter of the Xu family, has been excessively pampered. But now, I see that’s not quite the case.”
Xu Wan’s expression brightened, but before she could say anything, He Wang’s next words completely stunned her.
“It’s not just excessive pampering—it’s outright stupidity.”
His gaze was icy, and the atmosphere instantly froze over.
Despite his slow and measured tone, Xu Wan felt a chill crawl down her spine, as if she had been thrown into an icy abyss.
Her father’s words suddenly echoed in her mind:
—“That He Wang is nothing but a wild dog who forced his way into the industry. In order to expand his company, he tore a chunk of flesh right out of our business. Don’t be fooled by his polished suits—inside, he’s completely ruthless!”
—“If he keeps growing, we won’t be working with him anymore—we’ll be swallowed whole.”
—“Stay away from him, or you’ll regret it.”
She had never taken those warnings seriously before, but now, they replayed in her ears like a curse.
He Wang paid her no more attention. He simply stepped around her and continued browsing.
Meanwhile, Tang Xi, still nestled in his arms, had felt a flicker of fear just moments ago. A realization dawned on him—this wasn’t just any villain. This was the final boss. A villain so powerful he could stand against both protagonists until the very end.
His animal instincts kicked in, making his fur bristle slightly.
And then—he felt it.
A large, warm hand gently smoothed over his head.
“Don’t be scared.”
The deep, magnetic voice carried an undeniable authority, yet it was soft, almost coaxing.
He Wang’s touch was firm but careful, his hold around the little kitten subtly tightening, protective and secure.
“Be good.”
Author’s note:
The villain that Tangkuai encountered was not the original villain from the story but rather a villain whose body was possessed by the gong’s soul. Although the gong only has the villain’s memories and believes he is the villain, in the original storyline, the ones who would fall in love with or have feelings for the original protagonist shou were never the gong.
He would only fall in love with the little kitten, and just like the little kitten, they both crossed over almost simultaneously.
