The Escaping Little Snow White Ferret from the Black Moonlight Camp – Chapter 7

Chapter 7 – Sweetheart from the Sky: The Gentle CEO’s Sweet Kiss (7)

After finishing the examination, Bai Mo refused to stay in the hospital. He disliked the pungent smell of disinfectant and nobly declared, “If it’s not necessary, I won’t take up medical resources. Let’s leave the bed for someone who needs it more.”

Feeling sorry for Bai Mo, He Yuchi complied and handled the discharge procedures for him.

The He family stayed in Country G for a week, but since the family business had only recently stabilized, Father He couldn’t afford to be away for too long. He returned home first, bringing Mother He and He Yuning with him. Now that Bai Mo’s test results were out and his health had improved significantly, he also wanted to leave. He didn’t like the impersonal atmosphere of hospitals in Country G, so he asked He Yuchi to take him on the next flight back home.

Xiao Bobao chattered on and on, reporting the high-quality, rich, and handsome men she had gathered information on. Among them, there was one who seemed genuinely promising—aside from He Yuchi, this was the first person to actually pique Bai Mo’s interest.

“Shan Sihe? His last name is Shan?”

The surname “Shan” held a special significance in the storyline. Bai Mo immediately thought of the female lead, Shan Xiaowen. This guy had good qualifications and happened to share the same surname—could he be related to her?

Bai Mo hadn’t said anything yet, but Xiao Bobao hadn’t noticed the connection until now. She dug deeper into Shan Sihe’s background.

Good grief. The mastermind behind the storyline sure knew how to plant landmines.

Shan Sihe was the female lead’s half-stepbrother—his father had remarried Shan Xiaowen’s mother, forming a blended family. Though the two were legally siblings, they had no blood relation and weren’t particularly close. Their relationship was mostly superficial, maintained for appearances.

In the original plot, Shan Sihe was barely mentioned. However, the male lead’s rapid rise to power and his ability to crush his enemies wouldn’t have been possible without Shan Sihe’s support. He was also a key benefactor to the female lead, Shan Xiaowen. Without his efforts in upholding the Shan family’s business, she wouldn’t have been able to become a glamorous, wealthy socialite—adored by high society and respected by the elite debutantes.

Bai Mo really didn’t want to be tangled up with the female lead. Even if Shan Sihe and Shan Xiaowen weren’t close, they were still family. He would definitely side with her.

And what did Bai Mo have? No loving parents, no family support—he was basically an orphan. What could a disposable cannon fodder like him possibly use to fight against the female lead?

But at the same time… it would be hard to find another high-quality guy like Shan Sihe.

Bai Mo was torn. He stared at the photo of Shan Sihe on his phone and let out a long, melancholic sigh. Was it really so hard to just have a sweet, simple romance?

“Mo Mo, don’t worry! I-I’ll keep looking! There must be other options…” Xiao Bobao quickly reassured him.

“Sigh~” Bai Mo turned to the other side and sighed again, this time to comfort Xiao Bobao.

“Forget it, I’ve made peace with it,” he said. But deep down, he was still crying inside for his lost dream boyfriend.

With the victim returning home, the police’s investigation became much easier.

The day after Bai Mo returned, he went to the police station to assist with evidence collection.

As he arrived at the station entrance, he saw someone he hadn’t seen in a week—He Yuning.

Originally, the police had considered visiting the He family’s home, worried that three-year-old He Yuning might be too scared to speak in the unfamiliar environment of the station. However, the moment He Yuning heard that Bai Mo would be going to the police station, he immediately started clamoring to go as well.

It had been so many days since he last saw Brother Mo—he missed him so much.

Although He Yuning had not suffered any physical harm during the kidnapping, it had still deeply affected his mental state. In his most critical moments of danger, it wasn’t his loving parents or his gentle older brother who had been there for him.

It was Bai Mo.

Time and time again, Bai Mo had protected him—from the moment he was captured by the kidnappers, to when Bai Mo risked himself to exchange documents for his release, to when they were smuggled abroad and later rescued.

Through it all, Bai Mo was the only one who shielded him, using his own frail body to form a protective barrier around him.

To He Yuning, Bai Mo was his guardian angel.

He could distrust anyone, but not Bai Mo.

The moment he saw Bai Mo, the little boy couldn’t sit still.

From within Mother He’s arms, he eagerly stretched out his hands, wanting Bai Mo to hold him.

“Brother Mo! Brother Mo~”

His tiny voice quivered with urgency, and his delicately sculpted, rosy little face turned bright red from excitement.

Caught off guard by her son’s sudden movement, Mother He stumbled backward, almost losing her balance.

At the crucial moment, Bai Mo reacted swiftly.

He rushed forward, catching the falling child while simultaneously steadying Mother He, whose health was already frail.
