Chapter 7 – Campus Arc: A Glamorous Romance – The Cinderella Sweetheart’s Endless Love (7)
“What’s making you so happy?” Hudson set down the box in his hands and picked up a knife to cut open the seal. The rich aroma of nuts wafted from inside.
“Wow, you bought something delicious!” Bai Tang squatted beside the box, wanting to reach in but hesitating.
Hudson opened the box, revealing that it was filled with nuts—almost all of them Bai Tang’s favorites.
He picked up a small packet, tore it open, and handed it to Bai Tang.
“For me?” Bai Tang’s eyes sparkled. When Hudson confirmed it, Bai Tang flashed him a big, bright smile. “Hudson, you’re the best!”
“You like nuts that much?” Hudson reached out to ruffle the soft strands of Bai Tang’s hair, finding the texture as pleasant as ever.
“Mhm! Nuts are delicious! You should try one too.” Bai Tang handed one to Hudson, urging him to taste it.
“We didn’t finish exploring today. I’ll take you around the campus again tomorrow,” Hudson said, reluctantly withdrawing his hand from Bai Tang’s hair.
“I can’t. I already made plans to study at the library with Lingxue.” Bai Tang rejected him without even looking up.
“Oh? Is there something you don’t understand? I can tutor you,” Hudson offered, feeling a twinge of displeasure at the thought of Bai Tang being close to someone else.
Bai Tang had never felt that Hudson was particularly harsh toward him, and now, after being bribed with his favorite snacks, he no longer found Hudson’s usual cold demeanor intimidating. He casually explained, “Lingxue and I can’t understand the professor’s accent, so we have no idea what he’s teaching in class.”
Bai Tang blinked innocently, his dewy eyes reflecting Hudson’s own image.
If the system had been active, it would have surely lectured Bai Tang: Of course you don’t understand the class if you’re sleeping through it!
But unfortunately for logic, the person in front of Bai Tang was Hudson, who was unknowingly drawn to him. Without hesitation, he said, “I’ll tutor you.”
The plot was unfolding exactly as Bai Tang had anticipated. He immediately handed Hudson a good guy card and grinned. “Hudson, you’re the best!”
Fergusdon University had a relatively lenient policy—so long as one had a valid reason, they were allowed to enter both male and female dormitories.
Tian Lingxue had called Bai Tang’s phone multiple times, but no one answered. She instantly knew—he was definitely still lazing in bed. As per their agreement, she went up personally to drag him to the library.
Bai Tang groggily reached for his phone on the nightstand. No wonder his alarm hadn’t gone off—it was dead.
Grumbling, he mumbled, “What time is it?”
When Hudson answered, Bai Tang jolted upright in panic.
“Oh no! I’m going to be late!”
Bai Tang threw off the blanket and rushed into the bathroom. One hand was busy washing up, while the other unbuttoned his pajamas in preparation to change.
Hudson couldn’t help but chuckle at Bai Tang’s nimble movements. Closing his laptop, he decided that since he had promised to tutor Bai Tang, he would naturally accompany him to the library.
“Knock, knock, knock—” A knock sounded at the door.
Before Bai Tang could change, he ran over to open the door, still bare-chested.
As expected, it was Tian Lingxue. Bai Tang stood there with messy bed hair sticking up at odd angles, toothpaste foam in his mouth, and mumbled indistinctly, “Need a sec…”
Tian Lingxue took one look at Bai Tang’s snow-white skin and couldn’t resist the urge to reach out and give him a playful squeeze. “Hurry up.”
Bai Tang was ticklish. That one touch nearly made him swallow his toothpaste foam.
Hudson, witnessing their interaction, immediately darkened. Standing behind Bai Tang, his height advantage made him seem even more imposing.
Tian Lingxue, intimidated by Hudson’s presence, instinctively straightened up and greeted him obediently, “Good morning, President.”
“Wait.” Hudson spat out the word, grabbed Bai Tang, and slammed the door shut with a bang.
Tian Lingxue: “!!!”
Oh my god—why is the president so scary?
Wait, hold on—why is Bai Tang living with the president?!
