Chapter 382 – ABO: The Heaven-Sent Sweetheart – Escape Plan (06)
The people from the Omega Association couldn’t find Bai Tang and gradually withdrew their surveillance of the Bai family, seemingly giving up.
Father Bai and Mother Bai had not seen Bai Tang for a long time and missed him terribly. Once they were sure no Association members were around the house, they planned to go visit him.
Little did they know, although the Association had retreated on the surface, they hadn’t actually given up. Instead, they had switched to monitoring them even more secretly.
Omegas were far too precious; they couldn’t afford to miss even a single one.
Milly was living comfortably in the Omega Association—eating well, drinking well. The Association granted almost all her requests, and everyone there treated her kindly. Gradually, Milly let go of the wariness she had when she first arrived. She became cheerful again and fit right in with the people there.
From her, they learned that Bai Tang was an exceptionally delicate-looking young man—skin whiter than snow, gentle and soft-tempered. He didn’t look like a beta at all; in fact, he resembled an omega, and he even had inhibitors. They had every reason to believe Bai Tang was an omega disguised as a beta.
The Association members followed Father Bai and Mother Bai to a house in the suburbs.
Seeing the house hidden among the trees, they finally understood why they could never find him. So Bai Tang had been hiding here all along.
Today, Father Bai and Mother Bai were not only here to visit Bai Tang, but also to bid him farewell. In an hour, the black market merchant’s passenger ship would depart. Jacob had secured two seats; they would head to another planet, transfer twice more, and then return to the pirate headquarters.
“I think Tang Tang could stay hidden here. Those people won’t find this place.”
At the last moment, Mother Bai still couldn’t bear to let her child leave. She held onto a sliver of hope—at least then she could still see him from time to time.
“Madam Bai, as long as Tang Tang stays, the Association will find him sooner or later.” Jacob shattered her naive hope.
“Don’t worry, Mom. I’ll take good care of Xilie,” Bai Tang ran to comfort her.
Mother Bai burst into tears with a loud “Wah,” hugging Bai Tang tightly, reluctant to let go.
Suddenly, a piercing alarm blared through the house—waa-oo waa-oo.
“What’s happening?” Mother Bai stood up in panic.
Father Bai peeked outside. Through the window, he saw people in Association uniforms closing in.
“The Association is here.”
Mother Bai hadn’t expected the Association to find them this quickly.
She stood up and pushed Bai Tang toward Jacob.
“You two go first. We’ll hold them off.”
She could never allow the Association to take her Tang Tang away and sell him at a high price to an alpha.
Jacob pulled Bai Tang out through the back door, and even in the chaos, he didn’t forget to grab the two little puppies.
Father Bai guarded the front door, blocking the Association members from entering. By the time they broke it down with force, Jacob and Bai Tang were already far beyond the forest.
The Association couldn’t do anything to Father and Mother Bai—after all, they still had no concrete evidence that Bai Tang was an omega. But Father and Mother Bai insisted on suing the Association for breaking into a private home.
The vast stretch of space was endless. Bai Tang sat in his seat, watching the stars retreat outside the window.
“So beautiful~” Bai Tang exclaimed.
Jacob fastened the boy’s seatbelt for him.
“The sky on Azure Star is even more beautiful—stars everywhere, and you can often see meteors streaking across.”
“Really?” The boy turned his head, his eyes shimmering brighter than the stars themselves.
“Really. I’ll take you to see it, okay?” Jacob sounded like a big bad wolf coaxing a little boy step by step into his den.
Black market merchants were businesspeople after all; they followed wherever profit lay. Jacob’s skills and intellect were exceptional, bringing tremendous profit to the merchants.
Maintaining a friendly partnership, Mr. Keynes walked over to Jacob’s seat to greet him.
“Jacob, is this the little sweetheart you’ve been hiding?”
His gaze was razor-sharp. With just one look, he could tell Bai Tang wasn’t a beta, but an omega using inhibitors. A beta would never carry the scent of inhibitors.
Jacob shielded Bai Tang behind him, cautious yet composed. “Yes. He is my lover.”
His lover—the only partner he would ever have in this life. Anyone who dared set their sights on Tang Tang was courting death.
Keynes clearly heard the underlying warning in Jacob’s tone. He shrugged helplessly.
“I mean no harm. I just wanted to get acquainted, that’s all. Relax, Jacob…”
Bai Tang peeked out from behind Jacob, his lively eyes studying Keynes curiously.
“Hello there, little cutie.” Keynes adored soft, fluffy little creatures, and Bai Tang’s expression happened to be exactly the type he liked.
“Hello~” His soft, sticky-sweet voice was indescribably sweet—like eating a cotton candy ice cream in the middle of summer: sweet, but never cloying.
“Jacob, your boy is really adorable. You’ve got great taste…”
If Jacob weren’t glaring at him so intensely, Keynes might have already picked Bai Tang up.
“Abu has always had great taste~” The boy’s voice was soft and milky, yet it wasn’t hard to hear the pride in it. In every lifetime, the male lead was with him—of course that meant the male lead had good taste~
Without realizing it, Bai Tang had also been influenced by Qiu’er and picked up the habit of being a little narcissistic.
Keynes chuckled. What a straightforward little omega.
“All right, I won’t disturb you two anymore. But don’t say I didn’t warn you—this is first class. Try not to wander outside if you can help it. The people out there aren’t as easy to talk to as I am.”
Jacob’s expression tightened, and he nodded slightly to Keynes.
Outside was the economy cabin, filled with drifters who had no interstellar ID. Almost all of them traveled on black market ships like this—convenient and without identity checks. It was a chaotic mix of all kinds of people.
Jacob considered the fact that this was Bai Tang’s first time riding an interstellar ship, and that he would naturally be curious about the outside.
So he kept a close eye on Bai Tang and didn’t let him wander anywhere.
Bai Tang wasn’t unreasonable. He pulled out a pack of playing cards—something that had become a lost relic by this era—and challenged Jacob to three hundred rounds in first class.
His old husband never let him play before, so now he was going to bully him a little and regain his dignity.
However, the male lead was the male lead. His luck and intelligence were off the charts. Even though he had never played before, he grasped the rules quickly and soon swept Bai Tang clean without leaving a single survivor.
“Lost again~”
The boy pouted unhappily and set the cards down. “I’m not playing anymore,” he huffed, turning toward the window with puffed cheeks.
Jacob had never coaxed an omega before. He had no idea what the proper method was, but his instincts told him he should go over, hold Tang Tang, and tell him a story.
He thought it—and he did exactly that.
Jacob hugged Bai Tang from behind. At first, Bai Tang struggled a little, but within moments, he relaxed completely, leaning his entire weight against the strong chest pressed to his back.
“Tang Tang, open your mouth.”
“Ah—”
Bai Tang opened his mouth out of habit, and a strawberry-flavored candy was slipped between his lips.
“Tang Tang, don’t be mad anymore, okay? I’ll fight them back for you, hmm?”
Most pirates were rough men, and although Jacob, as the leader of the pirates, was calculating and sharp, he still thought with an alpha’s mindset: If you’re a man, you settle it with a fight.
Bai Tang shot him a seductive glare. “Why would I fight you? I can’t even beat you…”
Qiu’er was nearly laughing himself to death at Jacob’s straight-man logic. Hahaha—this was the second time he’d seen such a silly male lead.
Xiao A rubbed Qiu’er’s stomach as he laughed until it hurt, shaking his head helplessly. He simply couldn’t understand why Qiu’er loved watching the male lead embarrass himself, but since it was harmless fun, he let him enjoy it.
“Then… how about I tell Tang Tang a story?”
“Okay~”
Bai Tang loved snacks and stories more than anything. He adjusted his posture and snuggled comfortably into Jacob’s arms.
“Once upon a time, there was a little squirrel…”
Bai Tang had heard this fairy tale countless times, only with the background changed a little each time. Still, he listened with great interest; he just liked happy, satisfying squirrel stories.
Qiu’er, however, felt like his ears were about to grow calluses. He rolled his eyes internally and leaned on the windowsill with Xiao A, gazing at the starry sky.
Qiu’er yawned. Suddenly, he felt weight on his back. He turned his head and saw Xiao A’s face.
“You’re still small. Space routes get cold at night.” Xiao A hugged Qiu’er to keep him warm.
In this world, they appeared in physical form—both system spirits took the form of little puppies, but Qiu’er was smaller. Father Bai and Mother Bai cared for Qiu’er even more than they did for Xiao A.
“Look, isn’t it pretty?” Qiu’er didn’t mind Xiao A’s action. Using his paw, he traced a constellation on the glass. “This one is Scorpio.”
“This is Aries.” Xiao A connected the stars beside Qiu’er’s paw with imaginary lines.
The two humans and two puppies lived peacefully in first class for three days until it was time to disembark.
This planet had an interstellar transit hub, so its news was far more up-to-date than the tiny, isolated planet before.
As soon as Jacob and Bai Tang stepped into the city, they found the streets plastered with wanted posters of Jacob.
Pirate Jacob Lowry attacked Alliance soldiers and hijacked an official battleship. A wanted notice has been issued.
Anyone with information may report to the authorities. If the report is verified and he is captured, the informant will receive 100 million credits.
Bai Tang read each word carefully and muttered, “Why isn’t there a picture of the pirate on the wanted poster?”
A passerby beside him burst out laughing and explained, “You don’t know? He’s the notorious head of the Lowry Pirate Group. They say he’s extremely cruel, and everyone who’s seen him ends up dead. So nobody knows what he looks like.”
“Doesn’t that mean Jacob could walk right past himself and still not know who he is?!” Bai Tang glanced at Jacob.
Who would have thought—the person in question was standing right in front of his own wanted poster, completely unfazed.
“That actually makes sense,” the passerby said, stroking his chin.
Jacob rubbed the boy’s hair.
“Don’t worry. If he ever met Tang Tang, he wouldn’t hurt you. He’d hide you away and spoil you—there’s no way he’d treat you badly.”
Bai Tang laughed softly and whispered into Jacob’s ear, “If he did treat me badly, I could just turn around and report him. I’d even get a reward. Perfect~”
“I wouldn’t dare. Spare me, Lord Tang Tang,” Jacob said with a smile in his eyes. His thin lips brushed lightly against Bai Tang’s ear, making the boy’s cheeks flush. Bai Tang glared at him with irresistible charm, and Jacob’s heart melted.
