Chapter 255 – Professor, Please Don’t Raise Zombies (45)
She casually picked up a beautiful crystal core and luxuriously popped one after another into her mouth.
Comfortably nestled in a vine chair, Yan Luo chewed the core with a satisfying crunch. Yan Che was still busy dealing with the zombies that rushed at them, occasionally offering the crystal cores to Yan Luo.
It seemed like he was in a hurry to eat someone, as he showed no signs of restricting her appetite.
Yan Che still had some interest in this research base, especially since the atmosphere inside was rather strange. However, he took Yan Luo on a big detour just to gather more crystal cores for her.
At first, they had gathered Level 3 and 4 crystal cores, but now they ignored even Level 3 zombies. Only Level 4 and 5 cores interested her. Despite this, a lot of crystal cores were collected, which made it clear how bad things must be for the mercenary team now.
Especially considering the large scale of the place, she didn’t believe that the Beixuan Base was unaware of the exact situation inside.
Yan Luo swallowed the core in her mouth and looked at the Level 4 crystal core in her hand. There were so many crystal cores here that even she felt like she might overeat.
Her body had absorbed all the energy it could.
Reluctantly putting the crystal core aside, the girl yawned sleepily and rubbed her eyes.
It felt great to just relax and watch others fight for her.
Noticing that Yan Luo’s eating pace had slowed down, Yan Che’s vine whip shot out, pulling the crystal core from a nearby fifth-level zombie and knocking other zombies away, before turning to walk toward Yan Luo.
In the midst of all this bloodshed, Yan Che remained completely clean, his outfit oddly pristine, exuding the elegance of a nobleman playing a musical instrument.
With a smile full of indulgence, the vines parted, allowing him to walk toward Yan Luo.
Seeing the girl lazily sprawled out, unwilling to move, Yan Che couldn’t help but laugh, “Finished eating?”
It was rare to see her treat crystal cores like this.
“Mmm,” Yan Luo rubbed her little belly and pouted slightly, “I’m a bit full.”
It seemed like she had eaten too much.
Yan Che gathered the remaining crystal cores and, seeing her pitiful expression, it almost looked like she had been bullied by the crystal cores, rather than the other way around.
Chuckling softly, he pulled her into his arms, and the vines withdrew.
His warm hand rubbed her belly, helplessly saying, “How much did you eat? If you feel full, don’t force yourself. It’s all yours; no one’s going to steal it from you.”
Yan Luo let out a satisfied hum, steadied herself on the ground, and buried her little face into his chest, mumbling in a way that made Yan Che unsure how to respond, “It was so delicious, I couldn’t control myself.”
Sighing, Yan Che looked at the pile of crystal cores he had put away. She showed no signs of leveling up.
He couldn’t help but sigh slightly. Fine, fine, you can’t get fat in one bite, he shouldn’t have fed her so much at once.
But if Yan Luo hadn’t previously given him the impression that she could never get enough, he probably wouldn’t have fed her so many at once.
As the excess energy in her body slowly dissipated through his powers, Yan Che finally half-carried Yan Luo, glancing at the innermost part of the base.
“Let’s go, let’s see what’s really going on inside.”
