As if possessed by something, Shang Lu’s body reacted before her brain.
When she realized it, Shang Lu found that she had already grabbed Chi Yan’s hem.

Chi Yan glanced at her and replied, “She still has two more people ahead of her.”

Shang Lu remained silent throughout, trying to keep a low profile. However, when she felt two ‘intense’ gazes directed at her, she raised her head in bewilderment, locking eyes with two girls who were radiating curiosity.

Her friend immediately turned to Chi Yan and urged, “What are you waiting for? Follow what I just taught you. How can you not know how to treat such a beautiful girlfriend?”

The sound of Xiao Mi’s voice stopped, and her gaze fell with some confusion on Chi Yan and Shang Lu’s holding hands.
Chi Yan raised the corner of his lips and deliberately held Shang Lu’s hand a little tighter.
Shang Lu glared at him irritably, pulled her hand away, and reached for the cotton candy in Xiao Mi’s hand, changing the subject, “Ahead, there’s a carousel and bumper cars. Which one does Xiao Mi want to play first?”
Xiao Mi didn’t answer Shang Lu’s question. Instead, she suddenly said, “Brother and Sister are holding hands.”
Xiao Mi took a small bite of cotton candy and continued, “Mom and Dad took me to a town amusement park once. There wasn’t much there, but that day, I also had cotton candy. Mom and Dad were holding hands just like this.”
Shang Lu didn’t know how to respond for a moment. It was Chi Yan who bent down and also held Xiao Mi’s hand. He said, “There will be fireworks at 8 o’clock tonight, and the local custom here is to hold the hand of the person next to you when the fireworks burst, and you’ll never be apart for the rest of your life.”
Shang Lu joined in, “Yes, we are… practicing.”
“Is that so?” Xiao Mi’s face showed a look of understanding, then she said, “So that’s why Mom and Dad never separated, huh?”
She didn’t hold her Mom’s hand at that time, she was holding a bag of popcorn.
It was a somewhat heavy topic.
However, Xiao Mi didn’t wait for anyone’s comfort. She just smiled and said, “Sister, I want to ride the carousel first!”
Shang Lu patted her head and said, “Okay.”
Shang Lu and Xiao Mi sat on the carousel with cotton candy in their hands, laughing happily, while Chi Yan stood in front of the fence, taking photos of them.
Because there weren’t many people today, especially for less exciting rides like the carousel that weren’t popular among young people, only a small number of parents with children were riding. So Shang Lu also took off her mask and smiled at the camera, taking a few photos.
Xiao Mi was very happy as well.
In the small park she used to go to with her Mom and Dad, the first ride she played on was also the carousel.
