Part 2 of Chapter 65
Please Like Her 16 – “Go tell your sister that the engagement with the Jiang family is hereby canceled.”
It’s a new day, and Xiao Guai has committed new sins.
Several cups in the living room were knocked over, and the snack cart that Chi Yan had prepared for Shang Lu was in complete disarray.
Shang Lu naturally scolded Xiao Guai harshly for a while and then went to tidy up these things.
But when she wasn’t paying attention, Xiao Guai disappeared.
“Xiao Guai?” Shang Lu called while feeling strang, then looked at Da Guai beside her, took a few pieces of dog biscuits to feed it, and asked, “Have you seen Xiao Guai?”
The chubby Samoyed finished all the biscuits in one bite, wagged its big tail, and walked towards the guest room, indicating to follow.
Shang Lu immediately understood and followed.
Then she saw Xiao Guai in the guest room, using its two paws to try and grasp half of a cardboard box pulled out from under the bed, just like a cat scratching a scratching post.
Shang Lu naturally rushed to stop it, and in front of Xiao Guai, she fed Da Guai some snacks. She turned a blind eye to Xiao Guai’s pitiful whining.
Fortunately, at this moment, Xiao Guai realized that Shang Lu was treating it differently because it had made a mistake. It finally settled down and lay quietly in its dog bed.
After Shang Lu finished cleaning the living room, she entered the guest room to check if the items in the cardboard box had been damaged by Xiao Guai’s claws.
And just at that moment, the door opened from the outside.
Shang Lu was kneeling down and was about to pick up the cardboard box from under the bed. She looked up at the door and said, “You’re back.”
Chi Yan, who was originally calm, instantly changed his expression upon seeing where Shang Lu was. He rushed in, not even bothering to change his shoes, and pulled her up from the floor, asking, “Why are you kneeling on the floor? Isn’t it uncomfortable for your knees?”
Shang Lu pointed to the corner of the cardboard box that was showing and explained, “Xiao Guai was scratching this cardboard box earlier, so I wanted to check if anything inside was damaged.”
Only after Chi Yan let go of Shang Lu’s hand and kicked the cardboard box back inside did he wear an indifferent expression and say, “Just some daily supplies, not important.”
Since Chi Yan said so, Shang Lu naturally had no intention of checking further and no suspicions.
In a place Shang Lu didn’t notice, Chi Yan leaned against the wall and quietly breathed a sigh of relief.
At that moment, Xiao Guai didn’t know the real reason for its loss of goat milk that night.
After dinner.
Shang Lu looked at Xiao Guai and said, “It can’t go on like this. I don’t understand how to raise a dog. Have you thought about it? Should we find a specialist to train it?”
Before Chi Yan could answer, the doorbell rang.
Worrying that it might be someone from Shang family, Shang Lu looked towards Chi Yan.
Chi Yan gave her a reassuring glance and then got up and walked to the door.
Chi Yan directly opened the door.
A person and a cat squeezed in at the same time.
“Sister Lulu, good evening!” Wenren Yan’s cheerful voice rang out. He was carrying a Christmas tree around his neck and a camera hanging from his nec. When he saw Shang Lu, he greeted her somewhat awkwardly, and the British Shorthair gradually climbed up onto Chi Yan’s cabinet with graceful steps in Chi Yan’s home.
Shang Lu responded politely to him, “Hello.”
Chi Yan glanced at Wenren Yan and closed the door, saying coldly, “You sound quite familiar.”
Wenren Yan covered his mouth with his hand, wearing an expression that said, ‘I was wrong.’
Shang Lu didn’t really mind and asked, “Do you two have important matters to discuss? Should I leave you alone?”
“Important matters? We don’t have anything to discuss at all,” Chi Yan replied, then looked at Wenren Yan and asked, “What are you doing here so late at night?”
Wenren Yan smiled and then took out a cloth bag from behind him, and from the bag, he pulled out two tiny red garments.
Yes, they were tiny, small enough that not even a three-year-old baby could fit into them.
Wenren Yan’s voice sounded cheerful, “Christmas is approaching! I’ve come to take photos of Xiao Guai and my Da Bao1 for a pet photoshoot, of course!”
Da Bao referred to the British Shorthair.
Shang Lu : “…”
Did she have anyone around her who could put a little thought into naming pets? It seemed like they just picked names randomly!
- literal meaning = big treasure / big baby ↩︎
Lmao, the dog acts more and more like a cat 😭🤣
Also, their naming sense is so… 🗿 My cats all have full names 😌💗
