Shang Lu felt the soft and fluffy texture in her hand. Coupled with Chi Yan’s willingness to bow his head in cooperation, she didn’t need to hold her hand too high, making it very comfortable to touch.

So Shang Lu chose to continue stroking for a while before slowly retracting her hand. Then, she used the plush toy in her hand to gently rub Chi Yan’s chin, signaling him to lift his head.

Holding the plush toy in her arms, Shang Lu clasped the plush toy’s hands together in a praying pose and said, “I also hope that you will be happier than me every day… Oh, no, let’s be equally happy.”

As Shang Lu finished speaking, she felt a hand land on her head.

Shang Lu : “?”

She raised her head to look at Chi Yan.

Chi Yan, however, casually asked, “What are you looking at me for? You touched my head, so don’t I have the right to touch yours back?”

On the surface, his words seemed fine.

But—

“I haven’t washed my hair in three days.”

Shang Lu looked at Chi Yan very honestly, not saying anything more, but her expression clearly said, Are you sure you want to touch it?

In fact, Shang Lu had washed her hair that morning. She had a slight smile at the corner of her mouth, obviously saying this on purpose.

“I don’t mind.” Chi Yan said as he spoke, but he released his hand from Shang Lu’s head and instead lightly pinched her cheek, saying seriously, “Go wash your hands.”

Shang Lu, feeling annoyed, grabbed a nearby cushion and threw it at Chi Yan. He naturally caught it and looked at it, saying, “It’s quite nice. It’s mine now.”

After saying that, Chi Yan actually picked up the cushion and a bag of dolls from the side and stood up, saying, “It’s getting late. I’ll head back first. You should rest early too. Good night.”

“Good night,” Shang Lu instinctively responded. However, when she saw Chi Yan’s figure had already reached the door, she finally reacted, climbed off the couch, and chased after him, saying, “Wait, why are you taking my cushion? Are you serious? Hey! Chi Yan! Chi Yan!”

Wearing her slippers, Shang Lu reached Chi Yan’s front door, and then a cushion was handed to her. The door closed, accompanied by a “Good night.”

Shang Lu looked down at the cushion in her hand : “?”

It was a large cushion in the shape of a chicken leg. She had mentioned it to Chi Yan a few days ago, saying that if she got hungry at night, she wished she could satisfy her hunger by eating pastries.

And then Chi Yan asked her what kind of pastry she wanted.

She thought for a moment and said she didn’t want pastry; she wanted a chicken leg.

Shang Lu has a habit to hold onto something for a sense of security. The one taken away by Chi Yan was also the cushion she used to hug every day while lounging on the couch, reading scripts.

It seems almost the same, and it feels even more comfortable to touch than her original one.

Oh well.

A subtle smile played on the corner of Shang Lu’s lips, and she walked back with the cushion in her hands.

However, at the moment she walked through the door, she suddenly felt a bit lost.

This was her home, but there were many things that she didn’t buy herself.

For example, the landscape paintings hanging on the wall. She wasn’t someone who had the leisure to hang such things; it was because Chi Yan had two identical ones, so he gave her one.

And the fluffy slippers on the shoe rack were also a gift from Chi Yan, who said there was a buy-one-get-one-free promotion at the supermarket, so he put a pair in her house.

Even the curtains in her home were changed to the same kind after she noticed that Chi Yan’s home had better light-blocking ones, and he had voluntarily offered to help her replace them.

Looking at the cushion in her hand, she realized that, unconsciously, many things in her home were related to Chi Yan.

Her life was too.

But this feeling, she didn’t seem to reject it.

Shang Lu returned to the drama filming set. Xue Zishan and Wang Rong occasionally came to check on her and brought some home-cooked dishes.

The weather was gradually getting colder, and Shang Lu received several coats that Xue Zishan had bought for her, as well as scarves and gloves that Xue Zishan had hand-knitted.

Shang Lu held onto these items lovingly.

Although it wasn’t yet the season to use these things, there were people who cared about her and prepared them in advance.

In recent days, she had many scenes with Ou Yi.

Ou Yi also had a dog, and upon hearing that Shang Lu liked dogs, he brought it directly to the set. The eight assistants surrounded the dog every day.

It was a Shiba Inu with a temperament even more stubborn than Ou Yi himself. Its favorite activity was going for a walk on rainy days. It wasn’t very obedient and often ran around on the set, and the eight assistants couldn’t catch up with it.

And this dog’s name is called : Ou Yi’s little dog.

Shang Lu finally met someone who was less casual than Chi Yan in naming, and jokingly made a suggestion to Ou Yi, “If you raise a large breed dog in the future, you can name it Ou Yi’s big dog.”

Following Chi Yan’s way of naming the dog directly, only the size part of the name changes.

Ou Yi immediately agreed with a clap of his hands, “Sure! Then what kind of dog should I raise next? A Husky or an Alaskan?”

Shang Lu remained silent.

Perhaps this is what they call a ‘straight guy.’

But Shang Lu genuinely liked all the cats and dogs in the world, and she had some affinity with animals. Not only did Chi Yan’s dog warm up to her immediately, but Ou Yi’s dog was even more extreme, often following her around for no apparent reason.

Frequently on set, when Ou Yi couldn’t find his dog, he would loudly ask the nearby crew members, “Have any of you seen my dog?”

The crew members would answer without hesitation, “It’s probably following behind Teacher Shang Lu.”

Shang Lu couldn’t understand why, and she even had a ridiculous guess in her mind, “Did you put my picture in front of your dog’s food bowl at home?”

Ou Yi vigorously denied, “What are you thinking? That’s not the case.”

But he seemed a little guilty.

Later, Shang Lu found out that there was a poster of her on the wall of Ou Yi’s house, mixed in with pictures of the God of Wealth and various Bodhisattvas. And that poster was blocking a cabinet that held dog food. No wonder the dog liked her so much.

Forget it, she got used to it. Let Ou Yi do as he pleases, as long as he’s happy.

During this time, Lin Yanyan and Ye Lu came to visit the set together. They even dragged Shang Lu to take them to a nearby arcade, saying they wanted to play claw machines.

Then Shang Lu witnessed a tragic replay.

After Lin Yanyan and Ye Lu had tried dozens of times, their carts were still empty, with nothing to show for their efforts.

So, Shang Lu shared the secret she had learned from the two Masters with them.

Lin Yanyan : “But that’s exactly what I’ve been doing!”

Ye Lu : “I checked before coming, I understand everything you said!”

Shang Lu : “?”

So why can’t either of you catch one?

In that case…

Shang Lu said with a serious expression, “I only have one last method to teach you.”

Ye Lu and Lin Yanyan looked at her with eyes shining like stars, full of anticipation.

Shang Lu placed her hands on their shoulders, looked around, and identified the target.

Not far away, a tall and thin boy stubbornly tried to grab a doll from the same machine several times until the coin box was empty. Then he turned and walked away.

No time to waste.

Shang Lu quickly rushed forward, inserted a coin into the machine before anyone else could occupy it.

Then she handed the joystick to Lin Yanyan.

The first attempt, grab, and drop.

The second attempt, grab, and success, it fell into the hole.

“Ahhhh!” Lin Yanyan picked up the doll from the hole, wanting to cheer in joy but immediately covered her mouth when she felt the eyes of the people around her.

Ye Lu had a face full of disbelief, “Why? It’s just luck.”

“The claw strength is set high. After many attempts, you should be able to grab it once,” Shang Lu said directly. “If you two can’t master those tricks, just pay attention to which machines others have tried many times without success. When they leave, go grab it.”

Ye Lu and Lin Yanyan nodded at the same time.
