Wen Le of Rebirth in the End Times (BL) – Chapter 11 Gas Station

Wen Le and Xiao Wen woke up around noon, and although they didn’t drive very fast in the afternoon, they had already traveled a long distance.

As the sun began to set, Han Ya and Xiao Wen began to look for a place to spend the night. Zombies didn’t have vision, so they weren’t affected by the darkness, but humans were.

“There seems to be a gas station up ahead,” Mo Yan said, looking at the obvious red in the distance.

Xiao Wen nodded. “Okay, let’s go check it out.”

No one objected.

Wen Le shook his shoulder, which was sore from using the gun, and thought about searching for some gasoline at the gas station. Although there was a large amount of gasoline that Xiao Wen and the others had procured in the space, it wasn’t enough to sustain the consumption of the military jeep, and there was also a bigger gasoline-consuming machine in the space.

Just as he was thinking, he felt a hand on his shoulder. Knowing it was Xiao Wen, Wen Le didn’t hesitate to turn half of his body around and offer his sore shoulder for a massage.

Xiao Wen looked at the small shoulder in front of him and chuckled softly before starting to massage it without hesitation.

Wen Le’s performance on this journey had surprised him. His calm reminders and accurate shooting were completely different from his usual delicate and innocent self.

Thinking back, the change had already begun since the night two months ago when Wen Le had accepted him. At first, he was too excited to pay attention to anything else, but after this long period of calmness, he had slowly begun to sense the difference.

Wen Le’s nature had not changed; he was still kind and soft-hearted, but now he only put his most basic warmth towards the few people around him, no longer blindly giving to others. He had also gained more calmness and determination.

Xiao Wen couldn’t figure out what had changed Wen Le, but he didn’t ask. Except for Uncle Mo, everyone else felt Wen Le’s difference, but they all silently accepted it.

Wen Le and Xiao Wen woke up around noon, and although they didn’t drive fast in the afternoon, they had already traveled a long way.

As the sun was setting, Han Ya and Xiao Wen considered finding a place to spend the night. Zombies were not affected by darkness, as they had no vision, but humans were different.

“There seems to be a gas station up ahead.” Mo Yan looked at the obvious red in the distance and suggested.

Xiao Wen nodded, “Okay, let’s go check it out.”

Looking at Wen Le’s shining eyes leaning on the front seat, staring at the gas station that was getting closer, Xiao Wen’s thoughts were written all over his face. He fondly rubbed his head.

Wen Le was still his Wen Le, his open and simple demeanor in front of them made everyone couldn’t help but smile.

Han Ya looked at Wen Le’s greedy face and then at their boss’s indulgent expression, and couldn’t help but smile.

Although the apocalypse has happened, spring has also arrived for their leader.

As the car approached, the warmth that had just risen inside was suppressed by the silence upon seeing the large iron gate of the gas station wide open.

When they saw the gas station, each of them had a faint expectation in their hearts. During this afternoon’s journey, they hadn’t seen a single living person other than zombies. They vaguely hoped to encounter survivors at the gas station.

Since the apocalypse began, they had encountered countless zombies in just half a day, but had not seen a single living person. This feeling of being isolated from the world was not good. Wen Le understood this, because he had also experienced this feeling. Compared to his almost collapsed state of mind at the beginning, Xiao Wen and the others were just silent.

“We will meet them in the future,” Wen Le said to comfort them.

He couldn’t say the statistics he had heard from the experts at the base after a year in the apocalypse. At the beginning of the apocalypse, only one-fourth of the world’s population had not become zombies, and after the initial chaos and more than a year of survival struggle, 90% of that initial one-fourth had been eliminated. In the first year of the apocalypse, Z country, which used to be a behemoth, was left with only over 30 million humans. Other countries suffered even more.

Wen Le’s comfort had some effect. Everyone rallied and carefully observed the gas station in front of them.

When the apocalypse broke out, many vehicles had parked here, and the thick smell of blood in the air told of the tragic situation here.

Seeing nearly a hundred zombies attracted by the sound of the car, Mo Yan didn’t hesitate to start the car and slowly lead the zombies away from the gas station.

Shooting in the gas station was equivalent to su*cide. If they didn’t shoot, they wouldn’t be able to handle so many zombies. So it was better to outsmart them since they were outnumbered!

About five hundred meters from the gas station, Mo Yan turned his head to face the gas station and the zombies. Yin Chengyang picked up his machine gun and wanted to mow them all down, but fortunately, he was stopped by Han Ya.

“Do you want to attract all the zombies nearby?!” Han Ya scolded, even Mo Yan looked at Yin Chengyang with disdain when he sat back down. Yin Chengyang gritted his teeth in frustration. He couldn’t provoke Han Ya, but he could still reprimand1 Mo Yan. Regardless of who was right or wrong, they would fight it out first and talk later!

Mo Yan looked at Yin Chengyang with a face full of black lines, as it was clear that he was bullying the weak.

Han Ya sighed. Yin Chengyang was the first to follow the boss among them, he was generous and loyal, and never played any tricks. He was a good helper, but his brain was always just for show. For Han Ya, who always relied on his brain to get things done, being with Yin Chengyang was torture.

Uncle Mo watched the twisted expressions of the three people with a smile, even though one of them was his son, it didn’t affect his enjoyment of the spectacle.

Zhou Quan quietly took out a silencer, it seemed that he had to take matters into his own hands.

Feeling Zhou Quan’s movements, Yin Chengyang finally took out his own silencer and vented his anger at the zombies in front of them. He didn’t dare to turn around the whole time.

In fact, he didn’t need to be afraid. Han Ya had grabbed him as soon as he picked up the machine gun, but Wen Le didn’t see it at all. Wen Le was still wondering why the others hadn’t made a move.

Xiao Wen couldn’t help but smirk at everything he saw, choosing to ignore it for the sake of being kind. If Wen Le found out, he could tear Yin Chengyang apart on the spot.

Wen Le had been angered by Yin Chengyang’s actions the whole way there.

After dealing with the group of zombies, the car drove back to the gas station. Yin Chengyang, Xiao Wen, and Wen Le got out of the car while the rest of the people stayed in the car to deal with any unexpected situations.

When Wen Le got out of the car, he gave two military knives to Xiao Wen and Yin Chengyang and left a few more on the car. He held two curved knives himself. Although he was agile, his explosive power was insufficient. Although the range of the curved knives was small, it was labor-saving and easier to cut off the zombies’ heads.

The three of them walked cautiously to the door of the gas station. Wen Le spread his mental power out.

“There are two zombies in the northeast corner of the room,” Wen Le whispered softly in the ears of the two.

They had already been told about Wen Le’s mental power in the car that afternoon. Compared with Xiao Wen’s speed ability, Wen Le’s pure mental power was more practical after awakening this time. Although the range was not large, he could still sense the zombies within twenty meters around him with his mental power.

The house of the gas station is not big, but warm enough to include everything in it.

Xiao Wen nodded and gestured to Yin Chengyang, which Wen Le didn’t understand, but Yin Chengyang apparently did. Wen Le shrugged and followed the two men into the house.

The two zombies inside the house were blocked by the counter and didn’t follow the other zombies attracted by the sound of the car. Feeling the scent of living humans getting closer, the two unlucky zombies reached out their hands, eager to grab the nearby delicacy.

Xiao Wen raised his hand and a flash of light appeared, and four grey-green arms appeared on the ground. Xiao Wen raised his eyebrows, although Wen Le told him that he awakened the power of speed, he had no chance to try it until now, and he only now realized his ability.

Not bad, he was very satisfied.

After Yin Chengyang finished cutting off the heads of the two unlucky zombies, he stared enviously at his boss. The speed was much faster; he couldn’t even see how his boss made his move!

Wen Le ignored the two people, one with a self-satisfied look and the other with a face full of envy, and took out a pair of thick gloves and a small knife from his space.

First, he picked up the four arms on the ground and threw them outside the door. Then he opened the small door on the side and waist of the counter and crouched down next to the zombies.

Xiao Wen and Yin Chengyang curiously peered inside.

The next second, the two of them ran outside and started vomiting.

Hearing the vomiting sound, Wen Le rolled his eyes. He was just getting started! The knife in his hand did not pause and continued to stir the brain pulp.

Until both heads were carefully stirred, and no crystals were found, Wen Le wiped the knife clean and put it away. Then he picked up the remaining corpses and the decapitated heads and threw them out the window.
