Wen Le of Rebirth in the End Times (BL) – Chapter 80 A Decisive Plan

Since they had decided to avoid the military district in the Tibetan area, it was natural for them to dismiss the idea of going to City N. The base was still too weak and they knew there was a powerful force nearby that they couldn’t afford to provoke. Therefore, they had to try their best not to attract attention from the other side.

Fortunately, the Tibetan area was vast, and the location of the base was not an easily noticeable place. It was far away from the Tibetan military district, and until now, the other side probably didn’t even know of their existence.

Not knowing was probably for the best. When they became strong enough to not worry about being easily overthrown by the other side, they could act confidently.

After Han Ya inquired about the approximate situation of the other military districts, Yan Wei Guo and Bai Yang left the room.

Wen Le smiled as he looked at Han Ya’s frustrated face.

How can I not be frustrated? The only thorn in the Eight Military Districts is the one we cannot touch at the moment!

“For better or worse, although we cannot provoke the military district here, if we think from another angle, if we cannot provoke them, neither can anyone else. With them stationed here, we don’t have to worry about other large forces coming here to take advantage!” Wen Le comforted.

Han Ya thought about it and felt relieved. They could just consider it as picking up a bodyguard! Although this bodyguard was an obstacle they needed to avoid.

Xiao Wen buried his head in the map again, crossed out the mark previously placed on the city of N, and turned to the other three marks.

“These three places are also better left alone. It has been a long time since the apocalypse, and our untouchable bodyguard is definitely lacking in resources. We can assume that these few places near the three major cities could be their targets. Since we’ve decided to avoid them, let’s avoid them thoroughly.” Han Ya crossed out the three marks together with the pen.

Wen Le looked at the map. Since they could not go to the three large cities near the Tibetan area, it was not necessary to take a more extended route to find large cities to target. Instead, they could focus on the many small and medium-sized cities near the mountains.

As Wen Le thought, Xiao Wen’s finger pointed to a location near the mountains.

“F City?” Han Ya looked at the text under Xiao Wen’s finger.

“Yes, this place is far from those large cities, and the location of the Tibetan military district is not as close to here as it is to the other cities. Instead of going all the way around to F City, it’s better to directly sweep the several small and medium-sized towns near the three major cities.” Xiao Wen explained.

Han Ya nodded and pulled out the map of F City from the stack of maps he brought.

Wen Le had bought maps of almost all the cities in the country and had given Han Ya a copy of each type.

F City was an unremarkable city with inadequate food reserves and undeveloped industries. The only unique feature was its huge tea production.

Such a city would not be considered by any larger force, which would avoid conflicts arising from the same target.

“What do you mean by development? What do you want to develop?” Wen Le saw that both Xiao Wen and Han Ya had set their sights on F City but couldn’t figure out why they were so interested in it.

Xiao Wen was stunned and looked up.

“Didn’t we tell you?”

Wen Le shook his head firmly.

“Our goal is simple: crystal nuclei!” Han Ya laughed.

“Wen Le was stunned.

“‘Crystal nuclei?'”

Xiao Wen and Han Ya nodded in agreement.

“Why bother looking for a specific location when there are crystal nuclei all over wherever there are zombies?” Wen Le asked, puzzled.

Once they left the Tibetan area, the zombies in the Central Plains were everywhere. As long as they set a general direction, they could wander and collect crystal nuclei while fighting along the way.

Wen Le supported Xiao Wen and Han Ya’s idea of collecting crystal nuclei. They were now in the Tibetan area, with abundant supplies, and there was no need to kill zombies or exchange resources. However, it was likely that large bases in the Central Plains were now using crystal nuclei as currency. If they did not intend to stay put in this small world of the Tibetan area, they would need sufficient crystal nuclei to deal with future exchanges with other forces.

In response to Wen Le’s question, Han Ya explained, “Collecting crystal nuclei is a given, but since we’re already on the road, we naturally want to maximize our benefits and do our best to help survivors and collect resources. As far as supplies are concerned, our reserves are sufficient for consumables, so there’s no need to collect them. If we come across them along the way, that’s great, but there’s no loss if we don’t. However, our idea is that it’s best to have a destination in a certain region with a certain specialty. As you said, Wen Shao, crystal nuclei can be collected anywhere, but certain specialties may not be available everywhere. Just like F City, known as the tea city of Z country, even after deducting the transportation of tea to various regions, the tea storage in and around the city is still considerable. Although for most people, being able to eat their fill in the apocalypse is worth celebrating, once people adapt to the post-apocalyptic environment and have the basics of food and shelter covered, they will pursue a certain level of enjoyment. Although tea is insignificant, it is also a type of commodity for trade.”

Wen Le couldn’t help but sigh that Xiao Wen and Han Ya were much better than him in their ideas and expectations for the future.

If it were him, he would have simply collected crystal nuclei like before, without thinking that he could also gain other benefits along the way.

Since Wen Le understood Xiao Wen and Han Ya’s thoughts, he naturally joined the discussion.

Even lunch was a ready-made product taken out by Wen Le from his space. After a whole day of discussion, the three of them finally confirmed the feasibility of their departure.

Most of the superhumans from the base were mobilized to follow Xiao Wen, while all ordinary people stayed at the base. Han Ya would stay at the base to deal with any possible emergencies, while Wen Le would leave with Xiao Wen.

As for Wen Le’s initial concerns about the safety of the base after mobilizing superhumans, Han Ya easily solved them.

“Superpowers are always limited in scope and cannot match the power of firearms. The guns and ammunition we collected through various channels are enough to support us through most dangers. Unless the zombies from the Central Plains suddenly flood into the Tibetan area and besiege the entire base. Even if we face the Tibetan military district, the base may not necessarily be destroyed.”

Wen Le had no concept of the weapons that Xiao Wen had collected in batches before. He just marveled at the pile of small mountains of weapons piled up under the foot of a high mountain in his space a few times, and had no idea how many people could use those weapons and how long they could last.

Seeing Han Ya and Xiao Wen so calm, Wen Le also let go of his worries.

Due to the delay in dinner time, the three of them arrived at the residence of Yan Wei Guo and Bai Yang around 6:30pm.

After knocking on the door, Bai Yang opened it. Inside the room, the three of them saw Yan Weiguo playing chess with Li Yunsheng while Mo Gang watched on.

“Captain Yan, Senior Li, Uncle Mo,” Xiao Wen greeted the three elders as he approached the table.

As usual, Wen Le naturally leaned against Mo Gang and grinned, letting Mo Gang pat his head.

“Why didn’t you guys go out for lunch?” Mo Gang pretended to be angry as he looked at Wen Le’s obedient face.

“We were discussing some matters, so we had lunch in the room,” Wen Le said, trying to please Mo Gang as he pulled on his arm.

“Really? I don’t believe you,” Mo Gang questioned.

Wen Le nodded quickly, and Mo Gang shook his head, “I know you guys are busy, but you can’t neglect your health!”

Wen Le obediently stood to the side and listened to Mo Gang’s nagging.

Bai Yang was surprised to see this side of Wen Le, who had always had a blank expression on his face, but now exhibited a strong and indifferent demeanor. However, towards Mo Gang, who had always cared for him like a family elder, Wen Le couldn’t help but act like a spoiled child.

“It’s okay, we’ll leave you to it. Yunsheng and I will head back first,” Li Yunsheng smiled and drank his tea, ready to leave with Mo Gang. “No need, we’ll finish our talk and leave soon. Just wait a moment,” Han Ya explained.

“Huang Yao is probably preparing dinner now. We’ll go help take care of Yan Yan. That little guy is probably training with the young people again,” Li Yunsheng said, and Wen Le only just realized that the little guy who always clung to him was nowhere to be seen.

“What kind of training?” Wen Le couldn’t help but ask curiously.

Mo Gang chuckled and explained, “After joining the army, Yan Yan insisted on training with the young soldiers, saying that he wants to protect everyone in the future!”

Wen Le and the others couldn’t help but laugh. “He may be small but he’s a tough one!” Wen Le thought to himself, but it was good that he was willing to endure hardship. After all, the apocalypse wasn’t going to end anytime soon, and they all had to face aging someday. When Yan Yan grows up, they will likely retire and leave the future in the hands of their children.

After Li Yunsheng and Mo Gang left, the three of them sat at the table. Once again, the five of them were gathered together, but this time, they were in a different room, having moved from Xiao Wen and Wen Le’s room.

“Don’t tell me you’re still thinking about getting your hands on that military district?” Yan Wei Guo asked even before Wen Le and the others had settled down.

Xiao Wen shook his head. “Captain Yan, you’ve already talked to us so much. We’re not idiots. This time, we want to talk to you about troop deployment,” Han Ya explained.

Only then did Yan Wei Guo relax his stern expression. Though he hadn’t known them for very long, he had spent enough time with these young people to understand their capabilities and foresight. It was precisely because he knew them that he was worried they would recklessly challenge danger without considering the consequences, but thankfully, even if they had the ability and confidence, they were willing to listen to others’ advice.

“Troop deployment?” Bai Yang also sat down and, upon hearing Han Ya’s words, couldn’t help but ask.

Han Ya moved the teacup on the table to the side, leaving more than half of the table empty, and unfolded the map in his hand.

“Captain Yan, Brother Bai, we want to send some people into the Central Plains. Here, in F City, is our destination,” Han Ya pointed to the place on the map where the red pen had marked.

Although Yan Wei Guo would have agreed to their plan even without an explanation, not only out of respect, but also because Yan Wei Guo and Bai Yang were in a different field than them. Just like in the morning when their idea was denied, Xiao Wen and the others really wanted to hear their opinions.

After hearing Han Ya’s explanation, Bai Yang admired the three young people sitting across from him who were only a few years younger than himself. Whether it was their ideas or their plans for action, he couldn’t find any flaws, and he couldn’t even do as well as they did if he were to oversee the planning.

Seeing Bai Yang’s expression, the three knew that this plan was feasible. But Yan Wei Guo remained silent, even furrowing his brows slightly, as if he were thinking about something.

Xiao Wen and the others looked at each other, and their just-relaxed hearts tightened again.

Was there still a problem with this plan?!

However, what happened next made them grateful that they had this senior officer with them, as he helped them obtain a great benefit.
