Chapter 90 – Rough Star Pirate Leader VS War God Empire Prince [AA] (17)
So Mu Jin followed Chester’s group and once again stepped into the pirate spaceship. Due to Mu Jin’s contribution to upgrading the mechas of the pirate group members, they warmly welcomed him.
Mu Jin got along well with everyone, but during the interception of military supplies, he noticed something unusual. After counting the newly intercepted batch of federal goods, he was surprised to find a large amount of black crystal supplies.
This surprised Mu Jin because, according to the original timeline, the Federation wouldn’t acquire black crystals for several more years. The pirate group had agreed to trade black crystals with the Federation to have a chance to capture Mu Shao and help Chester alleviate his mental power issues.
But why did the plot unfold earlier? Moreover, the black crystal mine had already been controlled by Chester’s people. So where did these black crystals come from?
Thinking about this, Mu Jin squinted dangerously and immediately had Chester ask the group of federal transport personnel about the origin of these black crystals. From their responses, Mu Jin gathered that these black crystals actually came from another pirate group, but they were not sure about the specifics.
With this information, Mu Jin could roughly guess who was behind this. After all, apart from Chester’s group, the first to discover this black crystal was Yarlin and his gang.
Having Mu Jin as a variable in this life made it much easier for his lover to win in duels on the arena. And since Yarlin had attempted to harm him, it had triggered Chester’s anger, leading to a brutal beating and a degradation of his mental power.
Yarlin must harbor resentment now and might have approached the Federation to reveal the secret of the black crystals, intending to join forces for revenge.
However, Mu Jin wondered how many batches of black crystals had been transported and whether a large amount had already been sent to the Federation for mecha modifications. If so, the Empire would soon be in danger.
Mu Jin’s expression became more serious as he worried about the safety of the Empire. After all, that was the original host’s wish – for the people of the Empire to live in peace without being disturbed by wars.
Seeing Mu Jin looking displeased, Chester became concerned. After all, they controlled the black crystal mine themselves, and he was also puzzled about the origin of these transported black crystals.
Chester didn’t believe there could be a traitor among his people, so he speculated that others might have discovered the purpose of the black crystals and started mining in other areas of Das Star.
Frowning, feeling a sharp pain in his head, Chester exhaled deeply. Unfortunately, he couldn’t investigate this matter immediately, as he could feel his mental power becoming more unstable.
Although he had secretly taken medication prepared by Bishop, he couldn’t guarantee that his mental power wouldn’t suddenly erupt. Worried about hurting Mu Jin, Chester felt he had to find a reason to go to the desolate star as soon as possible.
Unfortunately, in the next two days, Chester couldn’t find an opportunity to leave, as Mu Jin insisted on staying by his side, never letting him out of his sight.
Normally, Chester would be delighted at his lover’s intimacy, but now it was clear that it made it even more difficult for him to leave.
However, soon Mu Jin encountered an unexpected event. On the third day, during the pirate group’s interception of supplies, they unexpectedly encountered a military supply ship sent by the Empire.
On that ship, Mu Jin saw a familiar face. Even though he hadn’t met the protagonist in this world after crossing over, he could still recognize him through the memories of the original host. The person was none other than his younger brother in this world, Mu Shao, accompanied by the main character, Achibald.
They looked somewhat disheveled, clearly having attempted resistance but failed. Although the Imperial army was well-trained, it couldn’t compare to Chester’s pirate group in terms of strength, especially considering Chester’s high combat power and Archibald’s 3S physique. The Imperial supply ship was easily captured by the pirates.
Mu Shao glared at Chester and the others with hatred, vowing to make these despicable pirates pay the price.
Wearing a mask, Mu Jin followed behind Chester, watching the pirates at work. Although Mu Shao was restrained, his eyes were still fierce. Luckily, these pirates weren’t as ruthless as rumored, and they ignored Mu Shao’s stare.
On the other hand, Archibald seemed less radical than Mu Shao. Although he didn’t know more secrets, he vaguely recalled his father mentioning that there were deeper reasons why the Imperial army had not been dealing strictly with these pirates. What those reasons were, he didn’t know.
Thinking about how he had secretly left the Empire with Mu Shao this time to follow the supply ship, Archibald had a thought. Looking at the powerful and renowned Chester in front of him, Archibald thought for a long time before finally asking, “You’re Chester, right?”
Chester raised an eyebrow at the question, glancing at the blond man he had already subdued. He nodded and smirked, “Yes, I am. How did you know me?”
Archibald heard Chester’s words and carefully considered his tone before responding, “Although there are countless pirate groups in the galaxy, only someone with a 4S mental power and physique, like yourself, could easily defeat me.”
Chester, hearing the seemingly genuine compliment, smirked slightly, finding this young man somewhat interesting. Encountering a decent opponent lifted Chester’s mood, and he casually said to Archibald, “The fight we just had was enjoyable. Don’t worry; we won’t harm you. We’ll leave once all the goods are moved. We can have another bout next time we meet.”
Observing the evident excitement in the other’s demeanor towards combat, Archibald suddenly felt that Chester was different from the menacing and bloodthirsty figure he had heard about in rumors. Instead, Chester seemed to purely enjoy fighting.
Seeing that the mood seemed good, Archibald continued, “You must have heard about the disappearance of the Empire’s Crown Prince. As interstellar adventurers, you probably have information. Have you heard anything about him?”
Suddenly hearing about Mu Jin, Chester felt a nervous twinge. Subconsciously glancing at Mu Jin, he quickly composed himself and said to the man in front of him, “No.”
However, the main character, Archibald , clearly sensed something off about Chester and hurriedly continued, “I know you guys have extensive knowledge. The Empire has been searching for the Crown Prince. If you can provide any clues, we would be greatly thankful, and…”
“We already said we have no information about him!” Chester interrupted Archibald impatiently, waving his hand behind him. “Be quick and efficient; once everything is moved, we’ll leave.”
The pirates swiftly completed their operation and quickly left the area, returning to their own ship.
After Chester and his crew departed, Mu Shao and the others managed to free themselves from their restraints. Mu Shao, with a solemn expression, exchanged glances with Archibald and hesitated, “Archibald, don’t you find something odd about the person beside Chester?”
“Doesn’t he resemble the Crown Prince?” Mu Shao nodded vigorously upon hearing Archibald’s words.
However, he couldn’t understand why, if that person was truly his royal brother, he didn’t return to the Empire or reveal his identity to Mu Shao. Moreover, how could he possibly associate with space pirates?
Archibald shook his head at Mu Shao’s words, unable to comprehend the intricacies. However, he couldn’t help but recall Chester’s unnatural expression when Mu Jin was mentioned.
Evidently, Mu Shao had also noticed this, prompting suspicions. Although they had attempted to discern it, they didn’t catch any scent resembling the Crown Prince on the short figure. Perhaps, due to the distance and the mask, the scent was too faint to detect. Hence, the two decided to infiltrate Chester’s ship to get to the bottom of things.
To avoid detection by the pirate group, they didn’t use an Imperial supply ship but piloted mechas to follow the pirate ship. Seizing an opportunity, they sneaked onto the ship and successfully infiltrated it, patiently awaiting the right moment.
Perhaps, the protagonist’s halo played a significant role, as their seemingly amateurish approach went unnoticed by any member of the pirate group. However, even though the two executed their plan smoothly, Mu Jin had already sensed it. With 003’s monitoring, he could guess their intentions. Chester’s uneasy expression when asked about his affairs earlier likely contributed to their suspicion.
When Chester attempted to find a reason to leave again in the evening, Mu Jin didn’t object this time. He wanted to handle the situation with Mu Shao.
Chester didn’t expect Mu Jin to actually stay behind. Although he was a bit surprised, he quickly took some temporary mental power-suppressing medication and handed over the matters on the pirate ship to Bishop before hastily leaving.
After Chester departed, Mu Jin was alone in the room. Once it was time for everyone on the ship to rest, except for the guards, who remained vigilant, everyone else fell into a deep sleep.
Wearing a mask, Mu Jin patiently waited in the room. As expected, not long after, the door was quietly opened from the outside.
When Mu Shao and Archibald stealthily entered, they saw Mu Jin sitting in the chair, seemingly waiting for them.
Seeing the situation, Archibald ‘s heart skipped a beat. Unable to determine Mu Jin’s status, he had to quickly take action and launched an attack on Mu Jin, attempting to subdue him swiftly to avoid attracting attention.
Even though Archibald’s combat power was not weak, facing Mu Jin’s 4S physique and extensive combat experience, he was easily overpowered.
