Chapter 49 – Autistic Young Master VS Ruthless Boss (24)
With just one sentence, tears surged from the young man in front.
Mu Jin really missed this man, extremely so. Although 003 was there, and occasionally he could see glimpses of his lover when the other wasn’t inactivated, it couldn’t compare to the real experience of being together day and night.
Since coming to this world, he had always been with Leng Xiao, never separated from him for so long. The thought of his lover actually heartlessly leaving him made Mu Jin’s heart uncontrollably filled with grievances.
Seeing the person in front crying in an almost speechless manner, Leng Xiao forcefully embraced Mu Jin, kissing his lips and repeatedly apologizing. Only heaven knew how much he didn’t want to leave this person, but he had no choice; he was just afraid of hurting Mu Jin.
The person in his arms was exceptionally emaciated. Even without seeing the surveillance footage, he knew Mu Jin had been having a tough time recently, a very tough time. He loathed himself for hurting Mu Jin. Just as he lifted his head to explain, he felt a sharp pain in the back of his neck and lost consciousness.
Mu Jin silently watched the tall man faint on the ground, thinking about the bloodshot eyes, heavy dark circles, and the thinness on his lover’s face he had seen when they first met. All these signs indicated that the man had also been having a hard time these days.
But he actually made me wait for so long!
Mu Jin felt both angry and heartbroken. He retrieved the silver needle in his hand, exerted some effort to drag the man back to the room.
As the Flower God, Mu Jin was well-versed in the medicinal properties of plants. The garden had a variety of plants, and combining some of them could easily create a drug that induces unconsciousness.
Putting the man on the bed, Mu Jin gently caressed his lover’s cheek, lowering his head to kiss his lips. The familiar breath relieved him. Unable to resist, he curved his lips, softening his gaze.
Finally, he’s back, and from now on, this person will never be allowed to leave him again.
When he woke up again, Leng Xiao found himself lying in a familiar room. Taking a deep breath, he tried to sit up but realized that all his strength seemed to have been drained.
Then he noticed that Mu Jin was curled up beside him, seemingly already asleep.
Bending down, he kissed Mu Jin’s hair and noticed a faint noise nearby. After careful inspection, he found a phone pressed under the little guy’s blanket, playing a video.
Leng Xiao took a look at the phone and discovered that Mu Jin was looping the video of their wedding day. It happened to play the moment when they kissed at the altar, the happiest moment of his life.
In the past, when he watched the surveillance, he could always see Mu Jin quietly staring at his phone in the room. So, had the phone been continuously playing this video?
Leng Xiao couldn’t help but feel heartache. He recalled his promise at the wedding, saying he would love him forever, promising to take good care of him as long as he was alive. However, he had broken his promise.
He truly loved Mu Jin forever, and even death couldn’t change his feelings. Yet, he failed to provide the best care for his little guy and made him so heartbroken.
A surge of bitterness overwhelmed him. Leng Xiao raised his hand to touch Mu Jin’s soft hair. He wanted to hold him tightly but was afraid of waking him up.
Thinking that his beloved had not been eating well lately, he felt that maybe he should prepare some food for his sweetheart. However, he suddenly realized he couldn’t even sit up.
Furrowing his brow, he realized something was wrong. Remembering that he seemed to be hugging the little guy earlier, he suddenly felt a sting in the back of his neck and passed out.
So, was there something wrong with his body, or did the little guy do something to him?
Leng Xiao felt he shouldn’t doubt Mu Jin, but the situation was too peculiar. So, he could only quietly watch Mu Jin, waiting for him to wake up and ask his sweetheart about it.
The sleeping appearance of the little guy was as obedient as before, with long eyelashes casting shadows. Leng Xiao quietly watched the person in his arms, feeling that if he could gaze at him like this until the end of time, it would be a kind of happiness.
As evening approached, Mu Jin slowly woke up. He hadn’t had a good night’s sleep in a long time. He was used to the warmth of his lover, and in the days when the man was away, Mu Jin couldn’t sleep at night.
Looking up and noticing Leng Xiao’s gaze, Mu Jin blinked and naturally imprinted his lips on the man’s. The close connection reflected how much they both missed each other, so this gentle kiss lasted a long time.
Afterwards, Mu Jin sat up, opened the bedside drawer, and took out two dry pastries. He handed one to Leng Xiao and took a bite from the other.
Leng Xiao recognized that these pastries were specially made for Mu Jin as a snack before he left. Stored for so long, they had completely dried out. Over these days, the little guy had only eaten the food he made, and he feared that these pastries were the last bits left.
Suppressing the bitterness in his heart, Leng Xiao hastily stopped Mu Jin, saying, “Xiao Jin, don’t eat that. I’ll go make something else for you to eat right now!”
Even though the man said this, he had no strength to sit up and could only stare anxiously at Mu Jin.
Helplessly watching Mu Jin finish the pastries, the man relaxed after a while, feeling his strength return slightly. But as he was about to sit up, Mu Jin suddenly leaned over and smeared something in his mouth.
The taste in his mouth was bittersweet, and he looked at Mu Jin in confusion, about to ask, when he felt his strength being drained again, and his consciousness became somewhat blurry.
With widened eyes, the man was surprised, trying to stay awake but in vain. Before losing consciousness, he heard Mu Jin muttering to himself, “I will never let you leave me again.”
Leng Xiao wanted to deny it, to tell Mu Jin that he knew he was wrong and would never easily leave him again. However, he couldn’t speak; soon, he was plunged into darkness once more.
Wafts of fragrance filled his nose, and Leng Xiao finally woke up again, sensing the aroma of food nearby. Opening his eyes, he saw Mu Jin sitting obediently beside him.
Still lacking strength, he noticed a table at the bedside with quite a few relatively fresh foods, although their appearance wasn’t great, seemingly just cooked.
Looking at Mu Jin with some confusion, the moment the little guy realized he was awake, he immediately smiled. Picking up a bowl of congee in front of him, he scooped out a spoonful, blew on it, and then fed it to Leng Xiao.
Obediently, Leng Xiao opened his mouth. After seeing Mu Jin’s satisfied smile, he felt even more poignant.
He knew Mu Jin was a genius, well-versed in various fields, including pharmacology. The variety of books on the shelf included medicinal knowledge. From the previous situation, he could conclude that Mu Jin had studied and concocted a drug that could drain his strength.
Was he afraid of him leaving?
He had pushed this little guy to such an extent. Unexpectedly, the gentle and innocent Xiao Jin would resort to such measures, and he was the culprit behind all this.
“Does it taste okay? I made it myself,” Mu Jin cautiously asked, a bit of unease and expectation in his eyes, that gentle look resembling the sweet times they once had.
Nodding vigorously, Leng Xiao realized that the food in front of him was indeed specially made by the little guy.
The taste of vegetable congee wasn’t particularly good, but in the man’s mouth, it felt like the most delicious dish he had never tasted before because it carried Mu Jin’s affection.
Seeing Leng Xiao nod, Mu Jin seemed even happier. After feeding the last spoonful, he put down the bowl, held Leng Xiao’s hand, and continued, “These days, I’ve been thinking that I must not be good enough.”
“I don’t know how to do anything, don’t understand anything. I’ve just been accepting your care without reservation. You must be tired! Don’t worry, from now on, I’ll cook for you and take care of you. So, let’s never be apart again.”
As Mu Jin spoke, he leaned against his lover’s chest, breathing in his scent forcefully. His tone was extremely gentle, yet there was a somewhat chilling undertone in his words.
Leng Xiao, on the other hand, was not afraid but felt even more despicable. Quickly, he retorted, “No! Xiao Jin, you don’t need to do anything. I always thought you were great!”
A knock on the door interrupted Leng Xiao’s words. Mu Jin frowned, reluctantly got up, walked to the door, and quickly opened and closed it.
Upon hearing Mu Yaqin’s voice outside, Mu Jin wrinkled his brows. She was persuading him, “Xiao Jin, you can’t do this. I’ve explained to you before, Leng Xiao left because he was afraid of hurting you due to his illness. You can’t confine him like this.”
Regardless of Mu Yaqin’s words, Mu Jin remained silent. Until the door was suddenly opened, Mu Yaqin finally broke through Mu Jin’s blockade and, together with Zhuang Hongwen, entered the room to check on Leng Xiao’s condition.
Mu Jin, unable to stop them, immediately rushed to stand in front of Leng Xiao like a protective beast, blocking the man behind him.
Staring fixedly at Mu Yaqin and Zhuang Hongwen, his eyes filled with urgency, as if they were about to attack.
Mu Yaqin had never seen her brother like this before and knew he must have been severely provoked. Despite her heartache and helplessness, she couldn’t let Mu Jin treat Leng Xiao this way.
As for the man behind Mu Jin, watching his slender figure, he couldn’t bear it any longer and his eyes turned red. Suppressing the sourness in his nose, he showed a relieved smile and said to Mu Yaqin, “Thank you for your concern. I’m fine here.”
