Chapter 328- Cultured Villain vs. Humanoid Weapon (33)
Shi Haoyu pressed his lips together and tentatively asked the zombie in front of him, “You can understand what I’m saying, right?”
He reasoned that since the zombie had been able to give orders to Pei Zijin, communication was clearly possible. Sure enough, the zombie reacted quickly to his question, nodding in affirmation.
‘Good, at least we can communicate.’
Relieved, Shi Haoyu exhaled slightly and said to the zombie with a mix of helplessness and resolve, “So, why did you bring me here? Is there something you need me to do?”
Given the current situation, Shi Haoyu no longer believed that the zombie had gone to all this trouble simply to eat him.
The Zombie Emperor tilted his head in response, the motion almost childlike in its curiosity. Although his sharp, alluring features gave off a slightly menacing aura, the gesture struck Shi Haoyu as oddly endearing.
Clearing his throat awkwardly, Shi Haoyu suddenly found himself enveloped in a firm embrace. The zombie locked eyes with him, the deep red in his gaze glowing with determination, and said one word, firmly and possessively:
“Mine.”
Before Shi Haoyu could react, the zombie leaned in and planted a forceful kiss on his cheek.
Shi Haoyu’s heart skipped a beat at the unexpected action, and he flailed slightly, trying to push the zombie away. However, when he saw the hurt expression on the other’s face, he hesitated, unsure of how to proceed. After a moment, he asked, “I’m Shi Haoyu. What’s your name?”
Hearing the question, the Zombie Emperor seemed to pause, his expression thoughtful. Since the moment he had gained awareness, his mind had been filled with fragmented memories of blurred figures and little else. He didn’t know where he came from or who he was.
But when Shi Haoyu posed the question, a flicker of recognition sparked within him. Slowly, as if uncovering a long-forgotten truth, he replied, “I am Qianchen.”
As the name left his lips, Qianchen felt a surge of joy, an unexpected delight in introducing himself to the person he liked.
Shi Haoyu sighed inwardly at the sight of Qianchen’s slightly dazed and innocent demeanor. With a touch of exasperation, he asked again, “Qianchen, why did you bring me here?”
After asking Qianchen his question, Shi Haoyu was already on guard. Sure enough, he saw Qianchen leaning in again, clearly intending to kiss him. Quickly, Shi Haoyu raised a hand to block the zombie’s lips, glaring at him with a mix of frustration and embarrassment.
For a long moment, his mind raced with thoughts before landing on a rather implausible idea. Hesitating, he looked at Qianchen and asked, “Do you… like me?”
‘Like me?’ Qianchen froze at the question.
He wasn’t unfamiliar with the concept of “liking,” but the feelings he had for Shi Haoyu didn’t seem to fit neatly into such a simple term. What he felt was deeper, something far more profound and irreplaceable than mere “liking.” It was as though their connection was destined, an unbreakable bond.
Still, seeing Shi Haoyu’s expression, Qianchen nodded without hesitation, as if agreeing would make his intentions clearer.
This time, it was Shi Haoyu’s turn to be utterly stunned. He hadn’t expected that the reason this zombie had captured him was… love? But as he wracked his memory, he couldn’t recall ever meeting Qianchen before.
After going back and forth with the zombie for what felt like ages, Shi Haoyu realized he’d gleaned little useful information beyond Qianchen’s name and feelings. Frustrated and exhausted, he reluctantly gave up on getting answers.
Still, the thought of his sudden disappearance worried him. Surely, by tomorrow, Lou Bin and their leader would notice his absence and be frantic. With that in mind, he softened his tone, attempting to negotiate: “Qianchen, how about you let me go back for now? We can talk about this later.”
However, the seemingly agreeable Qianchen immediately stiffened at those words. His expression darkened, and he tightened his hold on Shi Haoyu, pulling him closer. His crimson gaze bore into Shi Haoyu’s, unyielding and possessive, as he shook his head and firmly declared, “You are mine.”
Shi Haoyu glared at him in disbelief, anger flaring in his chest. He didn’t find it remotely romantic that someone he’d just met—let alone a zombie—was making such a possessive declaration. No matter how attractive Qianchen might be, Shi Haoyu had never believed in love at first sight, and this situation was no exception.
Moreover, Qianchen was part of the group from Lecheng Base that had arrived at Pingcheng Base. As a powerful zombie with ties to Lecheng’s leadership—evident from the fact that their leader, Pei Zijin, had personally brought him food—it was clear that Lecheng Base’s motives for coming here were far from innocent.
Although Shi Haoyu typically came across as cold and distant, he was unwaveringly loyal to Jian Minghui, Mu Jin, and the friends around him. Betraying them was something he would never do.
Shi Haoyu was pragmatic, but he also had his principles. Seeing that soft persuasion wasn’t working, he decided to try a more assertive approach to provoke a reaction from the zombie.
However, just as he was about to deliver some harsh words, the zombie casually interrupted him and said, “I’m yours too!”
After making this bold declaration, Qianchen even put on an aggrieved expression, as if Shi Haoyu were some kind of heartless cad. The anger bubbling in Shi Haoyu’s chest deflated like a balloon pricked by a needle, leaving him utterly speechless.
The feeling of trying to feign anger but hitting a soft wall of obliviousness was maddening. Shi Haoyu suddenly realized that while this zombie might understand human speech, communicating with him was proving to be exceedingly difficult.
Meanwhile, Qianchen kept a close eye on Shi Haoyu’s expressions. Noticing that his beloved looked a little upset, he grew anxious, unsure of what to do. He briefly considered finding Pei Zijin again to ask how he could make his beloved happy.
But seeing that the night was already deep, Qianchen remembered that humans rested at night. He didn’t want to disrupt Shi Haoyu’s sleep by running around and causing a commotion. Instead, he stayed where he was, his expression pitiful, and softly called out, “Yu…” His voice was low and husky, carrying an inexplicable sensuality that made Shi Haoyu’s ears involuntarily heat up.
Qianchen’s voice wasn’t clear or melodious, but when he called Shi Haoyu’s name, there was a certain endearing charm to it. He even managed to learn how to pout and act coquettishly on his own, which only added to his appeal.
Even though Shi Haoyu wasn’t someone who was easily swayed by appearances, having such a stunning beauty persistently expressing affection for him stirred up an inexplicable feeling in his heart.
Just as Shi Haoyu was struggling with his conflicted emotions, Qianchen finally seemed to relent. With an air of dramatic mercy, the zombie released him and darted into the bathroom.
Qianchen reasoned that since it was late, his beloved needed a proper rest. He didn’t want to act thoughtlessly and disrupt Shi Haoyu’s sleep.
After all, from the moment Qianchen first saw Shi Haoyu, he had secretly followed him everywhere. He had tailed his beloved all the way back to his apartment and naturally saw Shi Haoyu go into the bathroom to clean himself before returning to bed.
Humans seemed to prefer keeping themselves meticulously clean when conditions allowed, and since Qianchen liked Shi Haoyu, he felt he should do the same. With this thought, he hurried into the bathroom and quickly scrubbed himself down.
Fortunately, the bathroom was well-equipped. For a zombie, the temperature of the water didn’t matter, so Qianchen used cold water to wash himself thoroughly.
After a quick towel dry, Qianchen swung open the bathroom door and rushed back to the bed, immediately pulling Shi Haoyu into his arms.
Shi Haoyu, however, felt as though his eyes were about to burn out of their sockets.
Qianchen hadn’t bothered to change after his shower and had run out completely naked.
His skin was extraordinarily pale, his physique unexpectedly appealing. While his clothed frame seemed slightly slender, without clothes, his body revealed smooth muscle definition, with a toned abdomen and the striking lines of a V-cut. He was the very definition of “lean but muscular,” the kind of figure that could turn heads regardless of gender.
Yet Shi Haoyu wasn’t in the mood for admiring such things. His mind was occupied by one glaring issue—Qianchen’s complete lack of clothing as he emerged from the bathroom.
This left Shi Haoyu with an unfiltered view of… everything. And as Qianchen sprinted across the room, a particular part of him—decidedly well-endowed—bounced with every step. Shi Haoyu felt his face burn as he realized he couldn’t unsee what he had just witnessed.
Logic was failing him, and brute strength was out of the question. Shi Haoyu began to suspect that his fate was to be at the mercy of this exasperating zombie.
