Chapter 27 – Autistic Young Master VS Ruthless Boss (2)
Under the leadership of Leng Xiao, the Silver Wolf Mercenary Group gradually grew in strength and became widely recognized as the most powerful among the mercenary groups. In the later stages, Leng Xiao led his forces to capture the stronghold of an arms dealer, venturing into the arms trade business himself.
Leng Xiao was ruthless in his methods, sparking numerous conflicts after gaining power. He once dominated in those war-torn countries, causing countless casualties at his hands. However, he eventually met his end in a fierce battle.
The female protagonist, situated in country H, had always enjoyed peace and remained unaffected by the chaos of war. Naturally, the so-called mercenary groups and arms dealers were not well-known in this country.
The only intersection between Leng Xiao and the main storyline was when he took over the mercenary group. After completing a certain mission, he visited country H to handle some matters.
Assuming it would be a safe place, he fell into an ambush. After sustaining severe injuries, he hijacked the female protagonist’s car. Mu Yaqin provided him with medicine, but he left after his wounds were treated.
He did not reappear throughout the entire plot. However, when Mu Yaqin later sought to absorb the Xie family, it seemed that Leng Xiao’s mysterious influence played a role in her success, possibly a token of gratitude to the female protagonist.
“He does seem to know how to repay kindness,” Mu Jin mused, stroking his chin.
Considering the limited information about Leng Xiao in the original plot, referring to him as the “Mad Wolf” conveyed the type of person he was.
Sighing deeply, Mu Jin couldn’t help but feel troubled that his life partner was described as a dangerous individual – cunning, ruthless, bloodthirsty, and even finding joy in battle.
Moreover, his man in this world was no prince. Thinking about having his loved one stand at the pinnacle of this world, absorbing the qi of the world, made Mu Jin somewhat anxious.
Fortunately, Leng Xiao had recently taken over the mercenary group. Without delving into the arms trade or provoking conflicts, there was still plenty of room for maneuvering.
After carefully comparing the timelines, Mu Jin realized that he had arrived during the same period when Leng Xiao came to country H.
Thinking about this, he quickly asked 003, “Xiao Hei, where is Leng Xiao now?”
The answer from 003 was that Leng Xiao had already experienced an ambush, escaped with severe injuries.
Following the original timeline, the female protagonist would soon leave to retrieve documents for work. When she got into her car, she would be abducted by the injured Leng Xiao.
It seemed like the timing was just right now. All Mu Jin needed to do was to rescue his man before Mu Yaqin did. However, the original protagonist was a recluse, and bringing someone home silently would seem quite strange.
As Mu Jin pondered, he heard a knock on the door. After two knocks, a tall and elegantly dressed woman with a cold and beautiful appearance walked in.
The woman held a tray and, seeing Mu Jin sitting up, smiled gently at him, saying softly, “Xiao Jin, why did you lie down so early?”
“Sister made hot milk for you, and I personally baked some snacks. You didn’t eat much for dinner; how will you recover like this?”
While speaking, Mu Yaqin put down the tray and affectionately touched Mu Jin’s cheek, her concern evident in her eyes.
Nodding obediently, Mu Jin picked up the milk and took a sip. The cookies on the tray looked exquisite, but to his surprise, they were dry. Not only did they lack flavor, but the proportion of spices inside was also peculiar.
Recalling the original protagonist’s diet, Mu Jin felt some sympathy because it seemed like the original owner had been eating this kind of food all along.
Although Mu Yaqin excelled in the business world and was perfect in many aspects, her culinary skills were genuinely lacking.
Seeing the anticipation in her eyes, Mu Jin reluctantly took a few sips of milk and a small bite of the cookie.
Seeing that he only ate a little, Mu Yaqin felt a bit disappointed. Her younger brother had always had a poor appetite, but at least he finished the milk.
Looking at the well-behaved appearance of the boy in front of her, the woman reached out to ruffle Mu Jin’s slightly curly hair. She couldn’t help but think that her little brother was the cutest in the world.
With a round face, large cat-like eyes, lips that curved up when he smiled, and delicate features like a doll.
She remembered that when her brother hadn’t experienced kidnapping, he loved to smile the most. Every time he smiled, there were two sweet dimples, making him seem like a little angel.
But now, she hadn’t seen him smile for how many years.
Feeling a wave of sadness, but knowing that there was a heap of work waiting for her, Mu Yaqin forced herself to perk up. She affectionately touched Mu Jin’s face and turned to leave.
Little did she know that as soon as she turned around, the person on the bed grabbed her clothes.
Surprised by this, the female protagonist turned around. Her brother rarely took the initiative to communicate with her, and now he was holding onto her clothes.
The joy in her eyes was evident, and Mu Yaqin immediately spoke gently to Mu Jin, “Is Xiao Jin reluctant to part with Sister? Or is there something you want? Sister will definitely bring it for you when she comes back.”
However, Mu Jin shook his head slightly at her words. He looked at Mu Yaqin, then glanced outside, and softly pointed to the door, saying, “Together.”
Hearing that her brother actually took the initiative to say he wanted to go out with her, Mu Yaqin was so excited that she almost teared up.
Her brother had been autistic for many years, and he had never taken the initiative to express a desire to go out. This was a tremendous improvement.
Thinking that her adorable brother had bravely taken the first step, how could she, as his sister, stop him?
Mu Yaqin quickly nodded vigorously and opened the wardrobe to help Mu Jin pick out clothes for the outing.
Later, Mu Jin took the clothes and went to the changing room alone. He saw the cute shirt and pants, along with the coat embroidered with teddy bears that the female protagonist had prepared for him. He couldn’t help but twitch his mouth.
It seemed that in the female protagonist’s heart, she really regarded him as a child. After all, the original protagonist was already nineteen this year, even though he had stopped going to school due to autism. Dressing him in such childish clothes seemed overly naive.
However, despite this, Mu Jin was genuinely happy for the original owner, as he could see that the female protagonist truly cared for her brother.
Soon, the well-dressed siblings left the old house and got into the car together. After the car arrived at the location of the female protagonist’s office building, Mu Yaqin wanted to invite Mu Jin to come upstairs with her, but Mu Jin shook his head and refused.
Although Mu Yaqin felt a bit disappointed, she also felt that Mu Jin being willing to sit in the car with her was already a significant improvement. She reminded Mu Jin to wait for her in the car and then entered the building with a few glances back.
Because Mu Yaqin only planned to retrieve some documents and work from home, and the elevator ride to and from would only take a few minutes, she felt relatively at ease. She believed that nothing would happen in such a short time.
However, when Mu Jin waited for the female protagonist to leave, he didn’t stay in the car obediently.
He knew that in the dark alley near the company, his man was hiding with serious injuries.
According to the original plot, the man should have quickly hidden in this car. But for some reason, even when Mu Yaqin was about to come out, Leng Xiao had not yet appeared.
Moreover, the system seemed to have intermittent malfunctions whenever it monitored his man, making Mu Jin quite frustrated.
Thinking about it, he couldn’t help but wonder if his sudden appearance had somehow altered the world’s consciousness and changed the plot for him.
With these thoughts in mind, he became restless. Instead of waiting in the car, he decided to open the car door and quietly enter the nearby dark alley to search.
The sky was getting dark, and almost no one passed by the alley. Under the cover of night, evil often thrived in such places.
The original protagonist was petite, and coupled with his current attire, although childish, it all looked like pricey designer brands. It was not surprising that someone would target him.
So, after strolling around the vicinity of the alley, Mu Jin indeed heard some faint footsteps behind him.
Two thugs, looking disreputable, approached Mu Jin from both ends of the alley. It was evident they had ill intentions. However, Mu Jin didn’t care because, with his abilities, he didn’t even consider these people worth his time.
But when one of the sleazy-looking men saw Mu Jin’s face clearly, a lecherous smile appeared on his face.
Soon, they surrounded Mu Jin in the corner. The dirty man reached out his hand, wanting to touch Mu Jin’s cheek. However, before Mu Jin could react, he was flipped to the ground.
A cracking sound echoed as the man instantly burst into tears, wailing loudly. His fingers had been gruesomely broken. Meanwhile, the other man was effortlessly knocked to the ground.
A tall figure, as if descending from the sky, appeared before him.
Playing the hero to save the beauty?!
