Chapter 217- Cold Indifferent Loyal Dog VS. Playful Ghost King (12)
He said as he tried to grab Yin Tianyi, but how could Yin Tianyi let himself be caught so easily? Naturally, he dodged away immediately.
The movements of the man trying to grab Yin Tianyi indicated that he had some skills, but when facing Yin Tianyi, he could only be considered amateurish.
He didn’t expect Yin Tianyi’s agility to be so good, so he thought of ending it quickly. So he rushed towards him regardless, but before he could get close, Yin Tianyi kicked him in the knee.
Then Yin Tianyi seized one of the blonde man’s arms and forcefully twisted it behind him. Qi Hao, or the blonde man, instantly felt as if his wrist was about to be crushed.
He was shocked and quickly shouted, “Let go of me, Hao Ye! Let me tell you, if you mess with me, no one in this ghost market will spare you!”
Yin Tianyi heard Qi Hao’s words and glanced around at the people. He saw that most of them were just watching the excitement, so he knew that Qi Hao was just bluffing. So he ignored him and threw the man out, stepping on his stomach as he pretended to faint. Then, without paying any further attention, he turned and left.
Once everyone had walked away, Qi Hao grimaced as he sat up. He had only occasionally tried to scam newcomers in the ghost market to make some extra money. He hadn’t expected to run into trouble today and could only consider himself unlucky. After looking around at the people, Qi Hao touched his nose and limped away.
Having gotten rid of the scammer, Yin Tianyi noticed the broad smile on Mu Jin’s face. Knowing that Mu Jin was just enjoying the show, he showed a somewhat helpless expression in his eyes. The man instinctively reached out and flicked Mu Jin’s nose with his finger.
Mu Jin felt happy about his lover’s sudden display of affection, so he leaned over and pulled down Yin Tianyi’s mask, then kissed him firmly on the cheek.
However, they didn’t notice that when Mu Jin pulled down Yin Tianyi’s mask, Qi Hao, who hadn’t left yet, stared at Yin Tianyi’s familiar face nearby, his eyes widening in utter shock.
The two had already circled the ghost market, and hadn’t encountered anything valuable, so Yin Tianyi wanted to leave with Mu Jin. However, just as they were about to leave, Mu Jin suddenly felt something and stopped in his tracks.
Following Mu Jin’s gaze, Yin Tianyi saw a newly opened stall with a bronze figurine placed on it. The figurine looked very exquisite but also somewhat eerie, so most people didn’t linger at the stall.
But this figurine caught Mu Jin’s attention. Although he didn’t know where it came from, Mu Jin could feel a strong Yin energy emanating from it.
Seeing Mu Jin’s interest, Yin Tianyi asked the owner of the stall, “Boss, how much is this figurine?”
“You want to buy this figurine?” The chubby owner of the stall looked at Yin Tianyi strangely when he heard him ask.
The figurine was something his friend had obtained by chance and had left here on consignment. It had been sitting there for several months without any interest because its eerie appearance made it hard to tell its origin, making it difficult to sell.
However, seeing someone finally show interest and inquire about the price made the owner happy. After considering for a moment, he gave Yin Tianyi a reasonable price and said, “If you’re sincere about buying it, you can have it for two thousand.”
A price of two thousand wasn’t expensive, considering the craftsmanship of the figurine was quite good.
Yin Tianyi thought about it and decided to buy it. But just as they were about to negotiate with the owner, a man with slicked-back hair and wearing a traditional Chinese suit suddenly picked up the figurine and quickly said, “I’ll buy this figurine.”
The man had a decent appearance, but the way he looked at Mu Jin made Yin Tianyi uncomfortable. Moreover, the man directly took the figurine they were about to purchase and immediately had his companion hand over five thousand in cash to the owner.
Even though Mu Jin and Yin Tianyi had shown interest first, the higher price offered by the other man swayed the owner, who remained silent and clearly didn’t want to get involved in any dispute.
Yin Tianyi frowned at the middle-aged man. He wasn’t one to make enemies over a small matter. Having spent so much time in business with Yuan Cheng, Yin Tianyi had developed some degree of sophistication.
His main concern was that Mu Jin might cause a scene, but more importantly, he didn’t yet understand the true value of the figurine to Mu Jin.
After considering for a moment, Yin Tianyi said to the man, “We were quite interested in this figurine. Would you be willing to let us have it?”
However, the man didn’t respond and instead kept staring at Mu Jin. This man was somewhat notorious in the ghost market. He was from the main branch of the influential Qi family, often referred to as Second Master Qi.
With a wealthy background, he liked to come to the ghost market to find treasures. However, he was also notorious for his love of beautiful people. While he might be a good business partner, in other aspects, he was a complete scoundrel.
Anyone he took a fancy to, regardless of gender, he would go to great lengths to acquire, whether through sweet talk, threats, or coercion.
Second Master Qi had certain sadistic tendencies and often tortured his victims, sometimes leaving them in terrible condition. Because of his powerful background, his victims usually had no recourse and had to swallow their resentment.
It was evident from Second Master Qi’s gaze that he had taken a liking to Mu Jin. Although Mu Jin’s face was partially covered by sunglasses, his other features weren’t hidden.
Seeing Mu Jin’s delicate face, well-defined jawline, and full lips, Second Master Qi didn’t need to see his eyes to recognize that the young man in front of him was a beauty.
Judging from their youthful appearance, Second Master Qi assumed that Mu Jin and Yin Tianyi were just two inexperienced kids who had come to the ghost market to find a treasure. He thought that getting what he wanted from such youngsters would be a piece of cake.
Second Master Qi then displayed a gentle smile and said to Mu Jin, “I’ve had my eye on this figurine for a while, but if this young friend likes it, I’m not unwilling to part with it reluctantly.
“But we need to establish a connection first. This must be your first time at the ghost market, right? How about we become friends? Everyone here calls me Second Master Qi. Since you like this figurine so much, consider it my gift to you.”
As Second Master Qi spoke, he handed the figurine to Mu Jin. Without hesitation, Mu Jin accepted it. However, just as he took the figurine, the man across from him grabbed his hand, touching it in a very suggestive manner. He said, “I can tell at a glance that we have a connection. I wonder if this young friend has time to visit my place?”
Before Mu Jin could respond, Yin Tianyi slapped the man’s hand away and pulled Mu Jin into his embrace, staring coldly at the man in front of him.
Yin Tianyi was in a foul mood. Although he knew the demon beside him was not to be trifled with and that the man might soon regret his actions, he couldn’t stand seeing his partner being taken advantage of. It made him so angry that he wanted to break the man’s arm.
Second Master Qi noticed the icy look in Yin Tianyi’s eyes, and it sent a chill down his spine, despite his experience. Realizing he was intimidated by someone so young made his expression darken.
Mu Jin had already taken the figurine, and he wasn’t going to let someone grope him for free. However, before he could react, Yin Tianyi had already stepped in. This made Mu Jin not angry but rather pleased, his eyes curling happily, wishing he could kiss his lover right then and there.
Seeing that he had given away the figurine and that the pretty boy was still focused on another man, Second Master Qi naturally felt displeased. He stepped forward and said, “Are you really going to disrespect me like this?”
As soon as he spoke, several menacing individuals surrounded them. Yin Tianyi prepared himself for a fight, while Mu Jin stood by, not worried at all. After all, with him there, who could harm his man?
However, before they could start fighting, a sharp voice suddenly shouted, “It’s all a misunderstanding!”
The scrawny man who had tried to scam them earlier rushed over, placing himself between Mu Jin, Yin Tianyi, and Second Master Qi.
Seeing Second Master Qi, Qi Hao quickly bowed and said with a smiling face, “Second Master Qi, these two are my friends. There seems to be some misunderstanding. Please, don’t be hard on these youngsters.”
Second Master Qi looked at Qi Hao, his gaze shifting between the three of them, and said with a faint smile, “Oh? Are these two really your friends?”
Qi Hao nodded quickly, saying, “Yes, Second Master, they are absolutely my friends. They’re new here and don’t understand the rules. Please, for the sake of the old master, give me some face.”
Hearing Qi Hao’s words, Second Master Qi’s expression stiffened momentarily. Qi Hao, a branch member of the Qi family and generally considered a wastrel, had somehow gained favor with the old master.
Despite the main branch’s usual disdain for him, the old master held a significant influence that none could offend. Even Second Master Qi, known for his arrogance, dared not cross the old master.
While Second Master Qi didn’t respect Qi Hao, he avoided provoking him. Seeing the usually timid Qi Hao stand up for these two, Second Master Qi realized their relationship must be close.
