Chapter 171 – Domineering and Obsessed Jade Spirit VS Ascetic, Cleanliness-Obsessed CEO (25)
Zhong Xiaoyu and Mu Junhao turned their heads when they heard the voice and saw that Mu Jin had returned. “Why, big brother? Why can’t we smash it?” they asked in confusion.
Meanwhile, Mo Yan had also arrived at the old Mu family house. Upon returning to the office and not seeing Mu Jin, he became extremely agitated and almost went on a rampage to find him. Fortunately, he noticed the note on the desk just in time, explaining that Mu Jin had an urgent matter and had to return home.
Not knowing why his lover had left in such a hurry, Mo Yan felt he could only be at ease if he kept Mu Jin in sight at all times. With his powers restored, teleporting was not an issue, so he decided to go to the Mu house to find Mu Jin.
Upon arriving at the room, he saw his true form, the jade pendant, in someone else’s hands. It appeared they had discovered his identity and intended to harm him. Although Mo Yan could have easily retrieved the pendant with his restored powers, he paused when he heard Mu Jin’s voice stop them. This made him reconsider entering the room to seize the pendant.
Mo Yan decided to hide at the door, listening nervously to their conversation, unconcerned that his life was currently in someone else’s hands.
“Why not smash it? Big brother, have you forgotten how this person humiliated you? If you smash the pendant, his true form will dissipate, and you’ll be free!” Mu Junhao exclaimed.
After Mu Junhao spoke, he saw Mu Jin bite his lip and shake his head with teary eyes. “It’s my fault for worrying you. But can you spare Mo Yan? I’ll tell him I’m willing to leave with him, and you’ll have to take care of the Mu family from now on.”
“Brother, what do you mean by that?” Mu Junhao was shocked by his brother’s words, as was Mo Yan, who was eavesdropping outside.
Mu Junhao might not understand, but Zhong Xiaoyu, who was closely observing Mu Jin’s expression, sensed something was amiss. It seemed Mu Jin’s situation wasn’t as Mu Junhao described. He might actually have feelings for Mo Yan, which complicated matters.
With this in mind, Zhong Xiaoyu frowned and said to Mu Jin, “President Mu, keeping this pendant is a potential danger.”
Zhong Xiaoyu kindly reminded Mu Jin, hoping he would reconsider his decision. After all, this matter was primarily a family issue, and as an outsider, Zhong Xiaoyu didn’t want to interfere too much.
Mu Jin, aware that his lover was eavesdropping, sighed deeply at Zhong Xiaoyu’s words. With a sorrowful tone, he said, “I know. Junhao, I’m sorry. But please, as a favor to your brother, give me the pendant. I… I really love him.”
“Brother, how can you love someone who threatens you?” Mu Junhao’s face showed urgency and disbelief. He wished for his brother’s happiness but couldn’t agree with him loving such a dangerous person.
Just as Mu Junhao was about to act, the pendant suddenly vanished from his hand and reappeared in another man’s grasp.
Seeing Mo Yan materialize out of thin air, Mu Junhao instinctively shielded Zhong Xiaoyu behind him and shouted to Mu Jin, “Brother, come over here quickly and stay away from him!”
Mu Jin looked at Mo Yan with a mix of shock and embarrassment, knowing that his earlier words had been overheard. His face flushed with a mix of emotions.
After a moment, he firmly told Mu Junhao and Zhong Xiaoyu, “Junhao, you both need to leave. I need to speak with him alone.”
Though reluctant, Mu Junhao was eventually dragged out of the room by Zhong Xiaoyu. Mu Junhao glared at Mo Yan with intense hostility, as if wanting to tear him apart.
After the door closed, Mu Jin turned his attention to the jade spirit in front of him. He sat down on the bed, avoiding Mo Yan’s gaze. Collapsing onto the bed, he stared blankly at the ceiling with a bitter smile and said softly, “Do you find me laughable? Even now, I can’t let go of my feelings for you.”
“I know you just want revenge, and you’ve achieved your goal. I don’t know if I’m enough, but please don’t hurt Junhao. He’s the only family I have left in this world.”
Mu Jin’s words were cold and unyielding, which would have normally hurt Mo Yan. However, Mo Yan had already overheard Mu Jin’s confession outside the door.
Despite knowing that smashing the amulet would free him completely, Mu Jin still stopped them, risking his safety to protect Mo Yan. This unselfish act, this willingness to take a risk for him, filled Mo Yan with indescribable joy.
The little guy in front of me has always been tough on the outside but soft on the inside, yet I never realized it. I used to be smug about seeing the softness beneath his cold exterior, but how could I forget how wonderful he truly is? It’s impossible for him to be so heartless.
My beloved, despite his youth, has navigated the business world and become the head of the Mu family. He’s no simple character. Having seen so much scheming, he’s increasingly unable to stay true to himself. That’s why Xiao Jin always expects the worst, fearing deceit and shutting himself off.
It’s my fault for not seeing it and instead hurting my precious one, making him so sad. I could have told him the truth earlier.
If I had been more honest sooner, he wouldn’t have had such wild thoughts. If I had been gentler and not always threatening him, Xiao Jin wouldn’t have misunderstood and thought he was just part of my revenge plan.
Now, Mo Yan felt deep regret and frustration, but he couldn’t help feeling a surge of joy because he now knew that he was the most important person in Mu Jin’s heart.
Reflecting on his past foolishness, Mo Yan felt remorse. The hardships were indeed caused by the Mu family’s ancestors, and he had been imprisoned for hundreds of years. However, he was willing to let go of it all for the person in front of him.
The jade spirit had once felt resentment, but now he understood what he truly wanted. Mo Yan firmly took Mu Jin’s hand, placing his jade amulet in Mu Jin’s palm, and said, “Xiao Jin, I’m giving you my jade pendant. If you smash it, I will cease to exist. If it’s you, I’m willing to accept that, as long as it makes you happy.”
“I admit I once hated the Mu family, wanting to tear apart those who imprisoned me here for centuries, even considering making your descendants pay. But after meeting you, even with my lingering resentment, I’m willing to endure it for you.”
“I once said you were my compensation, but it was just an excuse. I didn’t want you to leave me. Xiao Jin, I’m sincere. Can we start over?”
Understanding the long suffering his lover endured during his imprisonment, Mu Jin was deeply moved by Mo Yan’s words. His lover never disappointed him. The Mu family did owe Mo Yan, but those who committed those acts were long gone.
The Mu family might have been prosperous in business, but its descendants dwindled, leaving only Mu Jin and Mu Junhao. Perhaps this was divine retribution.
Hearing Mo Yan’s words, Mu Jin looked deeply at him, eyes red, and softly said, “Mo Yan, the Mu family owes you too much. I really can’t be at peace.”
“Sometimes I wish you had no feelings for me. I just want to repay you more. I’m sorry… I can’t travel back in time to stop what our ancestors did to you. I don’t know how to make it up to you.”
“Then compensate me with yourself. You’re my best compensation.” Gentle words faded into the intimacy of a kiss, and the two lovers stopped tormenting each other. In their honesty, they found the warmth they both desperately needed.
In the midst of their passion, Mu Jin suddenly felt a sharp pain in his finger. His lover had bitten it and then pressed his bloodied finger onto the jade pendant on his chest.
Instantly, the dark jade pendant emitted a brilliant golden light, bathing them both. As a flower deity familiar with such practices, Mu Jin knew what Mo Yan had done. He looked at the man in front of him in shock and exclaimed, “You… you’ve acknowledged me as your master.”
The man in front of him smiled gently and said softly, “Yes, I am a thousand-year-old jade spirit, and this pendanr is a rare spiritual artifact. By recognizing you as my master, I cannot disobey your will. From now on, you are the master, and I am the servant. We will be together for life. I will never pose a threat to you or the Mu family again. I am willing to give you everything.”
Hearing his lover’s heartfelt words, Mu Jin couldn’t help but feel a surge of emotion. He didn’t desire anything special, just a simple, happy life with his lover.
In every world, his lover deeply loved him. In this world, even though the Mu family wronged him, to make Mu Jin completely at ease, his lover went as far as acknowledging him as his master. How could Mu Jin not be moved by this?
