Tyrant Meets Paranoid [Quick Transmigration] – Chapter 165

Chapter 165 – Domineering and Obsessed Jade Spirit VS Ascetic, Cleanliness-Obsessed CEO (19)

Not only was the Mu family enterprise completely open to Mo Yan, with no secrets at all, but ever since the two had become intimate, Mu Jin had never refused his lover’s desire to kiss and hug him anytime, anywhere.

He often put a lot of thought into it, giving Mo Yan small gifts to express his love, making the man feel as if he were constantly immersed in a sea of sweetness.

Meanwhile, Gu Yang quickly took action. After frequently visiting the Mu family to make his presence known, he casually mentioned to Mu Jin that he had recently dreamed of the old master, which made him feel uneasy. He suggested going to the Taoist temple to pray for the old master and asked if Mu Jin and Mu Junhao would join him. The Mu brothers were always very filial and agreed without hesitation.

Gu Yang was overjoyed when Mu Jin agreed, though he maintained a facade of calm. He hurried to the Taoist temple to discuss with the Taoist priest, deciding to use this opportunity to tamper with the jade pendant.

Mu Jin had long anticipated their scheme but wasn’t worried. For Mu Jin, ordinary seals were easy to break. In this world with thin spiritual energy, he didn’t consider Gu Yang and his accomplices a threat.

The next day, Mu Jin and the protagonist, Mu Junhao, followed Gu Yang to the Taoist temple. Looking at the elderly Taoist priest with an immortal aura, Mu Jin couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off about him.

Mu Jin nodded slightly in acknowledgment and prepared for the ritual. But before he could start, the Taoist priest approached him and said, “Sir, your fortune-enhancing jade pendant seems to have a problem.”

Frowning, Mu Jin asked, “A problem? Since I’ve had this pendant, my luck has improved significantly.”

The Taoist priest furrowed his brows and said earnestly, “This pendant indeed has issues. It might seem to boost your luck in the short term, but it has been sealed for hundreds of years, carrying a foul energy that could affect your health if not purified.”

Mu Junhao was immediately shocked by this revelation, and Mu Jin appeared to waver, showing signs of belief. Persuaded by the concerned protagonist, Mu Jin hesitated but eventually handed over the jade pendant when the Taoist priest offered to purify it in the backyard.

Gu Yang was ecstatic when Mu Jin handed over the pendant and quickly followed the priest to the backyard. Mu Jin and the protagonist stayed behind, continuing the ritual under the supervision of other Taoist disciples.

Once they left, Mu Jin found an excuse to slip away and secretly followed them to the backyard.

Gu Yang followed the Taoist priest, who carried the pendant to the backyard, where a new altar was already set up. Though small, it appeared quite formal.

The Taoist priest told Gu Yang that the ritual needed to be performed alone for it to be effective. Despite some hesitation, the allure of the power was too great, and Gu Yang agreed.

After the priest left, Gu Yang placed the pendant on the altar and prepared to apply the sealing talisman. As soon as the talisman touched the pendant, it ignited, revealing Mo Yan’s true form.

Surprised to be exposed by a mere talisman, Mo Yan found it odd. He had been hidden within the pendant Mu Jin wore, aware of the day’s unusual circumstances but not intending to reveal himself. Yet, the Taoist temple’s atmosphere made him uneasy.

Sensing that Gu Yang and the priest were trying to deceive him, Mo Yan had considered intervening but decided to wait until he was out of Mu Jin’s sight. Despite the unpleasant energy of the temple, its power was weak, and even the talisman’s power was negligible.

Mo Yan had thought he could simply burn the talisman without consequence, having been sealed for many years and finally regaining his strength. He despised sealing talismans. But unexpectedly, although the talisman burned easily, it still exposed his true form.

As Mo Yan and Gu Yang locked eyes, Gu Yang recognized the man in the black robe as the one who had rejected him in the office. Realization dawned on Gu Yang, and he excitedly exclaimed, “You are the jade spirit within the pendant!”

Immediately, Gu Yang cut his finger and smeared his blood on the altar, seemingly to form a contract with the jade spirit. However, Mo Yan dismissed this with a sneer, causing the small altar to collapse instantly.

Gu Yang was stunned by this unexpected outcome. Having been half-convinced about the jade spirit’s existence, seeing Mo Yan confirmed his beliefs. He now firmly believed that the Mu family’s rise was inseparable from the jade spirit before him.

Recalling what the Taoist priest had told him about the jade spirit being sealed by the Mu family for hundreds of years and harboring deep resentment, Gu Yang thought they might have a common enemy and possibly collaborate.

He tried to entice Mo Yan, saying, “I know you are the jade spirit of this pendant. You were sealed by the Mu family for hundreds of years, forced to be trapped in the shrine, and had your power drained daily. Don’t you hate the Mu family? You disguised yourself as Mu Jin’s assistant to get back at them. Why don’t we work together?”

Seeing Gu Yang’s petty and scheming face, Mo Yan felt a surge of disgust. Not wanting to waste any more words with him, he let out a cold snort and struck without warning. As far as jade spirit was concerned, his current power was at its peak, and crushing a mere mortal would be as easy as crushing an ant.

Gu Yang, seeing the jade spirit attack, jumped to the side, breaking into a cold sweat. Fortunately, he had a protective charm from the Taoist priest, which shielded him from the blow. However, he knew he was no match for the jade spirit.

Just as he was about to plead for mercy, Gu Yang felt his mind clouding, as if something controlled his speech. He involuntarily shouted, “You think I don’t know? You don’t truly like Mu Jin. You’re just using him to get back at the Mu family.”

“How does it feel to toy with someone’s emotions? I never thought that Mu Jin, who has always been so indifferent, would fall for you so deeply. He even overcame his longstanding OCD for you. That boy really loves you.”

“Hahaha, you must feel so pleased. I bet you’re planning to make him watch the Mu family’s downfall before revealing the truth. Who would’ve thought a jade spirit could be more sinister than a human? I’m in awe.”

Mo Yan frowned deeply, sensing a sudden change in Gu Yang’s demeanor. The hateful words made the jade spirit uneasy.

A sudden noise drew Mo Yan’s attention. He turned to see Mu Jin standing at the entrance to the backyard, his foot having kicked a stone, causing the noise.

Mu Jin’s face was a mix of disbelief and panic. Mo Yan never expected his identity to be revealed under such circumstances and couldn’t imagine what Mu Jin would think after hearing Gu Yang’s words. Did he misunderstand that he was playing with his emotions?

Watching Mu Jin stumble and run out of the courtyard, Mo Yan also rushed to chase after him. However, just as Gu Yang on the side was about to breathe a sigh of relief, Mo Yan remembered this culprit. Turning his head, he casually waved her sleeve, and Gu Yang was sent flying into the wall by a gust of wind, spitting out blood and falling unconscious.

003, seeing Mu Jin running while managing to pinch his waist to force out a few tears, twitched his face. He swiped his paw over his cat face, stunned, and said, “Xiao Jin, are you trying to create another dramatic scene?”

Mu Jin raised an eyebrow and, while pretending to rub his nose red, retorted, “Sh*t up. What do you mean another? I’m a poor soul deceived by my lover. How should a normal person react after hearing such words and discovering their most trusted love has been lying? Instantly forgiving would be strange.”

Remembering his lover’s tendency to overthink, Mu Jin pursed his lips. Rather than letting Mo Yan fill in the blanks himself, it was better to play along and quickly end this act, easing Mo Yan’s worries. He was eager to finish this and return to their sweet life together.

After dealing with Gu Yang, Mo Yan hurried to catch up with Mu Jin. Pretending to be devastated and trying to break free, Mu Jin unexpectedly ran into Mu Junhao, who had come out to find him after noticing his prolonged absence.
