Tyrant Meets Paranoid [Quick Transmigration] – Chapter 158

Chapter 158 – Domineering and Obsessed Jade Spirit VS Ascetic, Cleanliness-Obsessed CEO (12)

Mo Yan nodded at Mu Jin’s words, then went outside to hand over the completed work for Mu Jin to review. Mu Jin was very surprised, as it was Mo Yan’s first day working with him, and he didn’t expect such quick and perfect results.

He couldn’t help but feel proud, thinking, ‘As expected of my lover, always so excellent.’ Mu Jin’s heart was filled with joy, and his expression softened considerably. He nodded at Mo Yan and praised, “Very well done.”

Then he handed a few more reports to Mo Yan and said, “Please help me organize these as well.”

Mo Yan nodded and quickly left the office with the reports. The thought of sharing Mu Jin’s workload to let him rest more made Mo Yan happy.

With Mo Yan’s assistance, Mu Jin’s work became increasingly smooth. In less than half a month, he completed the workload that would typically take one to two months.

He also took the time to have his subordinates summarize the progress of each of the Mu family’s projects and briefly reviewed the recent years of the industry. After all, the original owner had only taken over the Mu family business for a short time, so Mu Jin still needed to understand these things on his own before he could be completely at ease in full control.

Once everything was completed, Mu Jin finally breathed a sigh of relief, feeling that his lover was truly a godsend.

What he didn’t know was that Mo Yan was even more delighted. Living with Mu Jin, like an ordinary person, was an experience Mo Yan had never had.

In the past, when he took human form, he always wanted to try living like a normal person. He never imagined he could achieve this by staying by his little one’s side. Of course, what made him happiest wasn’t living as a human, but being able to stay with Mu Jin every day, to be seen and touched by him.

Whenever he presented perfectly completed work to Mu Jin and saw the appreciative look in his eyes, Mo Yan felt a great sense of accomplishment.

Today, after finishing his work, Mo Yan was thinking of finding an excuse to speak with Mu Jin when the office door unexpectedly opened.

Mu Jin poked his head out and said, “Assistant Mo, come in. I have something to discuss with you.”

Hearing Mu Jin call for him, Mo Yan straightened up immediately, his face turning serious. He couldn’t help but feel anxious, wondering if he had made a mistake in his work.

But when he entered the office, Mu Jin pointed to the chair in front of his desk and said, “Assistant Mo, please have a seat.”

Seeing Mu Jin so formal, Mo Yan couldn’t help but gulp as he sat down. Then Mu Jin said, “Assistant Mo, although we haven’t worked together for long, I can see that you are very capable.”

Mo Yan couldn’t help but feel elated at Mu Jin’s praise, thinking, ‘My babycertainly has a keen eye; I am indeed very capable.’

Then Mu Jin took out some documents, seemingly looking through some contracts. He handed them to Mco Yan and continued, “Assistant Mo, I have always hoped to find someone as talented as you to assist me. However, just being an assistant might not fully utilize your skills. Our group currently has a project that needs a leader. Are you interested?”

Hearing this, Mo Yan quickly stood up and refused without thinking, “What do you mean? Are you transferring me to lead a project? No, I only want to be your assistant.”

Mu Jin was taken aback by Mo Yan’s response but then smiled, knowing his lover didn’t want to be separated from him. He certainly didn’t plan to let Mo Yan go far away.

With a helpless smile, Mu Jin said, “That’s not what I meant. I don’t intend to reassign you. Talented assistants like you are hard to find. I just thought this project would be well-suited for you. If you take it on, you’ll have to manage both the project and your assistant duties, which might be more demanding.”

Hearing Mu Jin’s confidence in him, Mo Yan felt a surge of happiness. What made him even happier was seeing Mu Jin smile at him.

Having spent so much time with Mu Jin, Mo Yan knew him well. Mu Jin was usually serious and indifferent, rarely showing any emotion. Seeing even a faint smile was like winning a prize.

Although it was just a slight smile, Mo Yan took it as a sign that his little one had a good impression of him, admired him, and maybe even liked him.

Thinking that his beloved trusted him so much, Mo Yan quickly nodded to Mu Jin and agreed. He was even more smug, feeling that he had already won the heart of the person opposite him in such a short time. He was truly irresistible.

Additionally, his recent interactions with Mu Jin had brought Mo Yan immense joy. In the past, as a spirit, he couldn’t be seen or spoken to by Mu Jin. Now, this new closeness was something he cherished deeply.

Even though Mo Yan could be with Mu Jin every day, hold him at night, kiss him, and even enjoy some privileges, he couldn’t shake the feeling of emptiness inside. But now things were different—he had become someone visible and tangible.

Now that Xiao Jin was aware of his presence, even their work interactions brought Mo Yan immense joy. Being able to spend time with Mu Jin and see his various expressions made Mo Yan even more infatuated with him.

Mo Yan truly loved being with the person across from him, whether it was day or night. He hoped they could get even closer, ideally never parting.

Even though he knew that once his powers fully recovered, he could force the other person to become his subordinate, something inside him warned that he would regret taking that route. It was as if a voice in his heart was telling him he could achieve the happiness he desired through other means, rather than coercion.

Lost in these thoughts, he heard Mu Jin speak again, “Rest assured, your efforts won’t go unrewarded. I’ve seen your value, and I’ve already informed HR to increase your salary by 60%. If the project goes well, you’ll also receive a bonus.”

Mo Yan nodded. He had no real concept of money and didn’t care about it. As jade spirit he lacked for nothing. If he truly desired something, it was to be closer to the person in front of him.

Realizing it was almost lunchtime, he tentatively suggested to Mu Jin, “President Mu, lunchtime is approaching. Shall we eat?”

Mu Jin didn’t object. These days, due to his lover’s persistence, he had become less obsessed with work and would take his meals and rest at midday as usual.

Just as he thought Mo Yan would leave to get lunch, he heard him hesitantly say, “Shall we eat together?”

Mu Jin looked at Mo Yan, who, despite maintaining a smiling façade, was clearly nervous, even sweating in his clenched fists.

Mo Yan knew Mu Jin’s habit of only dining with his brother. Although many people wanted to dine with Mu Jin due to his status, his well-known aversion to social meals meant he never attended such gatherings, preferring to handle matters in the office.

When Mo Yan suggested dining together, he was prepared for rejection. To his surprise, after a moment of hesitation, Mu Jin nodded in agreement.

Stunned but elated, Mo Yan hurried to the cafeteria and returned with a large tray.

Mu Jin felt a mix of joy that his lover had finally taken the initiative to have lunch with him and amusement at the sight of the enormous tray. He couldn’t help but wonder if the cafeteria had always had such oversized trays, or if Mo Yan had brought enough food for an army.

Mo Yan, oblivious to Mu Jin’s internal reaction, sat down across from him, joyfully placing the tray on the desk. “Today’s cafeteria food looks great. I brought a lot; let’s try it.”

Mu Jin found it amusing. The tray, piled high with food, was more than “a lot.” But seeing his lover’s enthusiasm, he smiled and nodded.

Mo Yan, seeing Mu Jin’s smile again, was overjoyed. He equated Mu Jin’s smiles with liking him, convincing himself that Mu Jin had feelings for him.

In Mo Yan’s mind, the equation was simple: Mu Jin smiled at him = Mu Jin liked him.

In short, Mu Jin already liked him.

Mo Yan was delighted, treating this shared meal as a date. His eyes sparkled as he looked at Mu Jin, thinking that since Mu Jin liked him so much, he would reciprocate with equal care and affection.

He felt that even if Mu Jin learned the truth one day, he might willingly become his companion without needing any coercion.

If 003 knew what Mo Yan was thinking, it would surely mock him, wondering who was truly whose companion. Mo Yan, almost turning into the perfect devoted partner, had yet to realize who the real prize was.

The two finished their meal in harmony. Mu Jin’s reserved nature was well-known, and Mo Yan was well aware of it. Thus, he tried hard to find topics to chat about with Mu Jin.

Mo Yan recalled the advice he had learned online about interacting with partners and chose a few jokes he thought were good to share with Mu Jin.

Although the jokes themselves weren’t particularly funny, Mu Jin found his lover’s efforts endearing. He listened patiently and nodded along, touched by Mo Yan’s earnestness.
