Tyrant Meets Paranoid [Quick Transmigration] – Chapter 157

Chapter 157 – Domineering and Obsessed Jade Spirit VS Ascetic, Cleanliness-Obsessed CEO (11)

Feeling the little guy across from him sizing him up, Mo Yan instinctively straightened his chest, his nervousness increasing. Trying to maintain his composure and appear friendly, he smiled at Mu Jin and said, “Hello, I’m Mo Yan, your new assistant.”

Mu Jin nodded and, in his usual indifferent tone, said, “The HR manager should have already informed you of your responsibilities. Your workspace is just outside my office. I’ll call you if I need anything.”

Having been Mu Jin’s invisible companion for so long, Mo Yan was thrilled to finally be seen. Listening to Mu Jin’s earnest instructions, he found the situation very amusing.

Especially since Mu Jin was really talking to him, he was no longer an unseen, untouchable presence. The man’s heart surged with a secret excitement. Outwardly serious, he responded to Mu Jin in his mind.

“The HR manager mentioned that you have a lot of experience as an assistant.” Yes, but I just fabricated that with some magic on the records.

“I hope you can quickly adapt and do your job well.” Of course, baby, I’ll do my best.

“I like efficient work, so staying by my side might be busier than you expect. It could be much tougher than your previous job.” I can imagine. I’ve been with you all along, so I know.

“If you can’t keep up with my pace, I’ll have to replace you.” No, baby, I won’t let you replace me. I’ll always be your assistant.

“I know what I’m saying might make you dislike me or think I’m a heartless boss.” Not at all, Xiao Jin. Your voice is so pleasant. I love hearing it, no matter what you say.

“But I don’t care. I only need a competent assistant.” Don’t worry, baby. You’ll see that I’m very capable, not just at work.

“Are you listening to me?” Mu Jin’s serious conversation was disrupted by his lover’s increasingly peculiar gaze, prompting him to speak up.

Mo Yan snapped back to reality, instinctively replying, “Yes, baby, I’m listening.”

“What did you say?”

“I said, yes, President, I’m listening.” Mo Yan wanted to wipe away his nonexistent cold sweat, giving Mu Jin a cover-up smile, realizing his mind had wandered a bit.

He hoped Mu Jin wouldn’t think he was inattentive. After all, even though Mu Jin was destined to be his, Mo Yan didn’t want to be as domineering as the rest of the Mu family. Since they would be together for life, he wanted to get along well with Mu Jin, provided Mu Jin behaved.

After giving a few more instructions, Mu Jin sent Mo Yan out to work. Mu Jin was genuinely surprised to see his lover immediately and diligently taking on the assistant role. Mo Yan learned quickly, handling tasks more efficiently than Mu Jin’s previous assistants.

This made Mu Jin very satisfied, thinking he should have had his lover by his side helping out sooner. It saved him a lot of effort.

However, Mo Yan was becoming increasingly frustrated. In the past, he always stayed with Mu Jin. Although he couldn’t touch him in his spiritual form, they were at least in the same room, and he could see Mu Jin whenever he wanted.

Now, as Mu Jin’s assistant, he was relegated to the spot outside the office door, staring at it with resentment. Though he found many opportunities to enter the office, most were for work discussions, without the romance he had hoped for.

He had even read a lot of CEO office romance novels, only to find they were all lies!

Feeling aggrieved, Mo Yan stared at the office door, filled with resentment. His speed and powerful senses allowed him to finish his work quickly, after which he would anxiously wait, hoping Mu Jin would call him in.

As the clock approached noon, Mo Yan perked up. In the past, Mu Jin would never heed his reminders to rest, but now he could officially remind him. Realizing this, Mo Yan felt better about his current role.

He hurried to Mu Jin’s office door and knocked. Hearing Mu Jin’s “come in,” he opened the door and said to the working Mu Jin, “It’s lunchtime. You should take a break and have lunch.”

Mu Jin nodded at Mo Yan’s words, his eyes still on the data in front of him, and replied, “Got it.” But he didn’t make any other moves.

Seeing Mu Jin’s reaction, Mo Yan frowned. He knew Mu Jin would respond like this. Taking a few long strides to the desk, he sternly said, “It’s time for lunch break. You’ve been working all morning, so take a rest. You need to eat on time; it’s not good for your health otherwise.”

Mo Yan’s forceful tone made Mu Jin look up, deliberately making a doubtful expression at him. To his surprise, the man stood firm, staring back with a determined look, clearly insistent on Mu Jin taking a break.

Seeing his lover’s strong concern, Mu Jin smiled inwardly but kept a slight frown on his face. After a moment, he nodded at Mo Yan.

Relieved by Mu Jin’s agreement, Mo Yan’s face showed a hint of a smile. He quickly went to the company cafeteria and fetched the meal prepared specifically for Mu Jin.

Although the meal looked well-balanced, Mo Yan still felt the portions were too small. His little one was so thin; he should eat more. So Mo Yan requested two extra portions of meat and a yogurt for Mu Jin before bringing the meal back to the office.

Seeing the more abundant meal, Mu Jin blinked at Mo Yan, knowing his lover had added the extra food. He felt touched.

The additional portions were not too much for him; Mu Jin’s appetite was larger than average, possibly due to his strong soul power. He never felt too full even with extra food, but the kitchen usually prepared normal portions.

Mu Jin enjoyed good food but hadn’t focused much on it in this world. It touched him that his lover had added his favorite meat and thoughtfully included yogurt for digestion.

Feeling happy, Mu Jin set his work aside and picked up his chopsticks to eat. He looked up at the man watching him and said, “I’ll eat. You should go to the cafeteria for lunch too.”

Mo Yan snapped back to reality, realizing his current human identity needed to eat too. He nodded dazedly at Mu Jin and left the office.

Though he felt a bit disappointed about not watching his little one eat, he felt warm inside that Mu Jin remembered to remind him to eat. Was this concern?

Mo Yan felt delighted, thinking his little one was indeed the kindest, most considerate, and adorable. The compensation from the Mu family was truly satisfactory.

Though it wasn’t his first time eating human food, Mo Yan tried every dish in the cafeteria to find the tastiest ones for Mu Jin. He didn’t notice the strange looks from other employees at his mountainous tray of food.

After sampling everything, Mo Yan compiled a menu based on Mu Jin’s preferences and instructed the chef to prepare these dishes for Mu Jin’s lunch.

The head chef, knowing Mo Yan was Mu Jin’s assistant, agreed readily, thinking the president must have grown tired of the usual meals and sent Mo Yan to change the menu.

With this task complete, Mo Yan returned to his desk, satisfied, and continued his work. Though Mu Jin’s workload was heavy, Mo Yan quickly adapted and completed his tasks since he wasn’t an ordinary person.

Bored after finishing his work, and with no summons from Mu Jin, Mo Yan used a trick to slip his spirit back into Mu Jin’s office, watching his beloved work.

Seeing Mu Jin working so hard, Mo Yan felt a pang of guilt. After a while, he left the office and knocked on the door.

Mu Jin, used to having his lover quietly accompany him, felt comfortable. But when Mo Yan left, he felt a bit lonely. The knock on the door brought a smile back to his face.

“Come in,” he called. Mo Yan entered, looking concerned. “President, is there any other work you need me to do?”

Mu Jin was momentarily stunned, realizing his lover was worried about his workload. With a smile in his eyes, he asked, “Did you finish all the tasks I gave you?”
