Chapter 142 – Violent Useless vs. Delicate Cat (22)
Hearing Mu Jin’s words, Yan Yang slowly looked up, still struggling to believe him. But then he heard Mu Jin tearfully say, “Back then, when I was trying to break through to a higher level, something went wrong, and I was severely injured. If you hadn’t found me, I don’t know what would have happened.”
“I had planned to thank you and tell you the truth once I could transform back into human form. You know, with the resources of the Mu family, I had many ways to show my gratitude. But you were so kind, so gentle… I really, really didn’t want to leave.”
Mu Jin raised his tear-filled eyes to Yan Yang. This was his partner, the one with whom he had shared countless worlds. The memories made Mu Jin’s emotional expression even more sincere.
Choking back sobs, he continued, “I’ve lived for so many years, and I never knew what it meant to like someone, but when I saw you, I just couldn’t control myself.”
“Yan Yang, you can hate me for lying to you, but if you had known from the start that I was the leader of the Mu family, would you have been so open with me? Would you have let me stay by your side? I didn’t want a relationship based on alliances; I just hoped you would really like me.”
“I’ve delegated most of the Mu family’s responsibilities to others, trying to stay by your side. I thought I could keep you in the dark for a lifetime, but you found out so quickly. Please don’t leave me. As long as you stay with me, I’ll give you anything you want!”
“Didn’t you want to get stronger? I can give you all my soul power! Really, I’m incredibly strong. I’m already a Soul King. I’ll give you all my soul power; just don’t leave me!”
As Mu Jin spoke, tears flowed freely, and a massive surge of soul power radiated from him, manifesting into countless golden threads that wrapped around both of them, attempting to infuse into Yan Yang’s body.
“Stop it!” Yan Yang saw Mu Jin going overboard and quickly stopped him. Was he trying to risk his life to give him soul power?
He quickly scolded Mu Jin and said urgently: “I won’t leave. Take your soul power back quickly, or I’ll leave now!”
He hastily commanded Mu Jin to retract the soul power, threatening to leave if he didn’t.
Mu Jin seemed startled, and the golden threads instantly froze. He just clung to Yan Yang’s arm, breathing heavily.
“I’m not leaving,” Yan Yang said again, gently stroking Mu Jin’s back to calm him down. It wasn’t until all the powerful soul power was retracted that the boy breathed a sigh of relief.
But then Mu Jin rushed to kiss him, the kisses desperate, like he feared losing him. The timid kisses and the low posture made Yan Yang feel a twinge of sadness.
Mu Jin’s earlier manic behavior had scared him, but it also gave him hope that maybe the other person really did love him; otherwise, how could he have lost control like that?
It wasn’t until Mu Jin removed his jacket and started unbuttoning his shirt that Yan Yang realized things might be getting out of hand.
Seeing Mu Jin silently crying while kissing him, whispering, “Yan Yang, please don’t push me away, don’t push me away,” calmed the boy’s heart a bit. It wasn’t just him who was afraid of losing the other.
Yan Yang felt his heart soften. His earlier pain had mostly faded. He responded to Mu Jin’s kisses with a bit of force, not letting up until the other person’s lips were reddened from his fervor.
He was surprised to see Mu Jin’s submissive expression, eyes closed, offering no resistance. Suddenly, Yan Yang wondered what could drive someone as powerful as Mu Jin to lower himself like this—unless it was genuine love.
His feelings complicated, Yan Yang took a deep breath, deciding not to let Mu Jin go. Whether it was real or not, he was going to make Mu Jin his today. He kissed Mu Jin fiercely, savoring his taste.
After a while, Yan Yang felt a gentle push against his chest. He looked at Mu Jin, expecting him to change his mind. But he saw the flushed face of his lover, who shyly said, “Yan Yang, could you be gentler? This is my first time…”
Seeing Mu Jin’s rare bashful expression, Yan Yang felt a jolt in his heart, and his arms tightened instinctively. Feeling the slight tremor in his partner’s body, his anger melted away.
He knew the passive party always had it tougher, but even so, Mu Jin was doing his best to relax, to accept all of him.
He hugged Mu Jin tightly, rubbing his cheek against his, speaking with a slight edge, “You’re mine. Don’t even think about leaving me! You and I are in this together, forever!”
The desperate kisses slowly grew gentler, and as they became one, Yan Yang finally felt a sense of calm.
Hearing his lover’s threatening tone, even though it was meant to be intimidating, only made Mu Jin’s heart feel warm. He nodded eagerly, touching Yan Yang’s eyebrows and saying quietly, “Okay.” It was just one word, but it held so much more meaning.
Seeing the deep emotion in Mu Jin’s eyes, Yan Yang felt a sudden urge to cry. He leaned in for another kiss, this one not marked by uncertainty or fear, but filled with sweetness.
Mu Jin had no idea how much time had passed. All he knew was that when he awoke, it seemed to be the next day, and the boy beside him was watching him with a worried expression.
Perhaps because his lover had been so frantic and needed to vent, he was particularly energetic during their first time. The very thought of fainting from exhaustion made Mu Jin want to cover his face.
Seeing Mu Jin awake, Yan Yang quickly moved to check on him. Once he saw that his lover was feeling a bit better, he breathed a sigh of relief. He left the room to fetch some congee, then returned to help Mu Jin sit up, letting him rest against his chest as he carefully spoon-fed him the congee.
It seemed his lover had no qualms about ordering his servants around, but this actually made Mu Jin happy. Still, he glanced cautiously at Yan Yang, tugging at the boy’s sleeve and asking softly, “Yan Yang, are you still mad?”
Yan Yang looked down at his nervous lover, his heart softening. He leaned in to kiss the crown of Mu Jin’s head, then playfully rubbed his newly-emerged white cat ears, saying with a smile, “No, I’m not mad. I’m sorry for being so rough.”
To his surprise, Mu Jin shook his head and blushed, saying, “It’s okay. If it makes you happy, I’ll do whatever you like.”
Seeing Mu Jin, who was usually so aloof around others, being this obedient in his arms made Yan Yang’s heart race. His gaze grew even more heated, but he held back, knowing that Mu Jin’s body might need some time to recover.
Now that he had the one he loved, Yan Yang felt like he had no regrets in this lifetime. Although there had been some bumps along the way, the memory of his partner’s complete devotion last night eased his mind.
After breakfast, the two spent more time cuddling, with Mu Jin explaining why he could transform into a beast. He knew that if they wanted to be together for the long term, they couldn’t keep too many secrets, so he decided to come clean.
Yan Yang appreciated Mu Jin’s honesty and, despite having forgiven him, didn’t forget to ask for some extra benefits. He had tasted sweetness last night, and seeing his lover’s enticing appearance made him want to tease him a bit.
Seeing his lover agreeing without hesitation, Yan Yang felt even more loved. He playfully pinched Mu Jin’s cat ears, watching his cheeks turn a deeper shade of red, feeling his heart fill with joy.
Mu Jin never hid his feelings for Yan Yang from those around him. So when the Mu family stewards saw their master and his future partner rushing back home, they cleverly called the school to ask for a leave of absence.
When Mu Jin reminded Yan Yang that he should go to school, Yan Yang was puzzled why Mu Jin, with his status, would still attend Saintlin Academy and even become his classmate.
Mu Jin blushed and turned his head away, taking a long time before mumbling, “My ‘husband‘ is so handsome. If I’m not by your side all the time, what if someone steals you?”
Yan Yang didn’t know what to do with this charming but seemingly unaware little guy. He took a deep breath but couldn’t resist lowering his head to kiss Mu Jin intensely, barely containing the fire within him.
Seeing that Yan Yang no longer held grudges over his deception, Mu Jin finally felt relieved. He snuggled in the boy’s embrace for a while. After eating and regaining some strength, he forced himself to focus, beginning to help Yan Yang realign his energy flow.
Yan Yang saw how tired Mu Jin looked and felt a twinge of pity, but Mu Jin was insistent, and he had no choice.
Mu Jin knew that Yan Yang had broken through levels too quickly, reaching the seventh level in one go. He needed to quickly stabilize and process the energy within him.
If he didn’t adapt quickly to his current level, it would do Yan Yang no good. It was similar to the cultivation world, where sudden breakthroughs required time for mental adjustment.
In this world, the energy was not as complex as in the cultivation world, so after a period of guidance from Mu Jin, Yan Yang could quickly adapt and apply his new strength.
Looking at the boy, Mu Jin felt a mix of emotions. He thought, “Isn’t this my man? To increase his soul power so quickly, even with the support of the original soul, requires an exceptional understanding.”
Mu Jin knew his lover’s power was suppressed in this world, but even so, Yan Yang’s talent couldn’t be overlooked. Seeing his rapid progress made Mu Jin proud, feeling that his man was indeed exceptional.
But after completely realigning Yan Yang’s energy flow, Mu Jin was nearly exhausted.
Apart from guiding the energy flow, which was exhausting in itself, the fact that his lover, with his incredible strength, had kept him turning like a pancake all night didn’t help. This was Mu Jin’s first time in this world, so he needed more time to rest.
Yan Yang felt sorry for Mu Jin seeing the fatigue in his eyes and held him tightly. He kissed his little cat’s forehead, saying with a hint of guilt, “You didn’t have to rush to help me break through. It’s too much for you.”
