Chapter 13 – Tyrant VS National Teacher (13)
Mu Jin did not intend to make a move on his own child at such an early stage. However, at the age of fifteen in Xi Ling, one could already marry. If he wasn’t careful, and his child developed feelings for someone else, whom would he turn to in despair? So, he just wanted to test and see if Mo Yi really had feelings for him.
Fortunately, the results of the test were quite pleasing. In a good mood, Mu Jin hummed a little tune and chatted with 003 in his sea of consciousness. In his mind, he wondered if Mo Yi would really be able to catch a hedgehog for him later.
However, he didn’t expect Mo Yi to be gone for the entire afternoon. When it was almost evening, Mu Jin noticed that his child hadn’t returned, and he began to feel that something was amiss. Thinking that Mo Yi might have been frightened by him and was avoiding him, he became uneasy.
While pondering this, he heard a commotion outside, and without reason, Mu Jin felt a moment of panic. Upon hearing the disturbance, he quickly left the tent.
At the camp entrance, he heard someone panting and shouting, “Bad news! Something big has happened! Several ferocious beasts suddenly rushed into the hunting ground and attacked us. The situation was critical, and our group with Third Prince got scattered. The Prince is missing, and we don’t know if he’s alive or dead!”
“What did you say?” Mu Jin immediately pushed through the crowd, seeing the person covered in fresh blood and wounds. He rushed to the stables, mounted a swift horse, and rode into the hunting ground.
On the way, Mu Jin rode while urgently asking 003, “Xiao Hei, how did this happen? Why didn’t you report to me when Yi Er was in danger?”
Upon hearing that Mo Yi was in danger, 003 quickly checked its system. It found that the tracking part of the system covering Mo Yi had been blocked by some force, making it blind to the target.
Discovering this, 003 was alarmed and informed Mu Jin of the situation with a worried heart. However, Mu Jin was too preoccupied to blame 003 because finding Mo Yi was his top priority.
Restarting the system, 003 quickly located Mo Yi’s position. Following the system’s instructions, Mu Jin raced on horseback and discovered many dead guards along the way. Although these bodies showed signs of being attacked by wild beasts, Mu Jin quickly sensed that something was wrong.
There was no scent of wild beasts along the way, and all the guards protecting Mo Yi were skilled individuals from the palace. It was inconceivable that they were all killed by wild beasts without killing any in return.
After a while, when Mu Jin tracked near a small river, he found several bodies of black-clothed individuals and guards. He noticed that these black-clothed individuals not only had swords but also carried a kind of claw-shaped weapon at their waists.
Without much thought, Mu Jin realized that the injuries on the previous bodies, supposedly from wild beasts, were actually caused by these weapons.
Informed by the system that Mo Yi was nearby, Mu Jin quickly began searching along the riverbank.
As dusk fell, the river water was dyed red with blood. All that could be heard was the rushing sound of water, and Mu Jin’s heart grew more anxious. He knew Mo Yi had been a martial arts prodigy since childhood, inheriting his own true teachings. Perhaps even surpassing him, and probably among the top martial artists in the entire Xi Ling.
However, he still worried because he understood the principle of being outnumbered. Mo Yi had only trained with academy instructors on the drill ground and couldn’t compare to the seasoned assassins licking their blades.
Thus, he was frantic, fearing that even if he found Mo Yi, he might only discover his lifeless body.
The sound of swords cutting through the air reached him. Mu Jin, upon hearing it, hurriedly searched and, upon seeing a figure, immediately dismounted.
However, when he finally saw the person he was looking for, he found the scene before him completely unexpected.
At that moment, Mo Yi, with blood-red eyes, raised his sword and thrust it through the throat of the last black-clothed individual. Corpses lay scattered around him in contorted postures.
Surprisingly, the young man’s face was filled with excitement and satisfaction, showing no sign of panic.
Mo Yi, bathed in blood, appeared as if he were a living demon on earth. Perhaps hearing movement nearby, the youth raised his head, revealing a fierce expression, but when he saw Mu Jin, he froze.
He had been seen!
His terrifying appearance while killing had been witnessed by his most important Brother Jin!
Mo Yi’s mind echoed with this realization. He had known for a long time that he was not the gentle and courteous Third Prince as others perceived. In his heart, he suppressed a ferocious beast that yearned for blood and slaughter.
Yet, he also knew that his Brother Jin was kind, associated with the benevolent Xuan Qing Temple. Over the years, Brother Jin had always said he hoped Mo Yi would grow up to benefit the people and be admired by all.
He wanted to make Brother Jin happy, to make Brother Jin proud of him.
So Mo Yi had always suppressed his true self, hoping to become the person Mu Jin expected. However, today, when the group of black-clothed individuals attacked his team and killed all his guards, Mo Yi could no longer contain himself.
The sound of clashing swords stimulated his nerves, and the young man felt his blood boiling. The thick, sweet, and bloody scent around him excited him, and the blade in his hand seemed eager to move.
Thinking about the person he cared about not being by his side to witness his actions, Mo Yi couldn’t suppress the violent elements within him any longer. He thought that these people aimed to kill him, so killing them in return seemed only natural.
Gripping the sword tightly, he slashed and swung it freely, reaping lives one after another. Even though he was surrounded by numerous black-clothed individuals, he couldn’t avoid getting some injuries. Yet, the pain only heightened his excitement.
He just wanted to release the brutality within him. Until he killed the last assassin, Mo Yi finally stopped his sword.
But when he looked up, he saw Brother Jin standing not far away, staring at him in a daze.
It was over; everything was over!
Mo Yi took a deep breath, feeling his vision darken. The thought of Brother Jin witnessing his cruel and monstrous side made Mo Yi panic.
Brother Jin knew now, and he would probably no longer want to be with him. He would likely distance himself, just like others who abandoned him. The pain he felt years ago, like his heart being eaten by countless ants, returned, making Mo Yi feel unsteady.
In agony, he knelt on the ground, consciousness fading. Seeing Mo Yi collapse in his arms, Mu Jin immediately rushed over, thinking his child was severely injured due to the attack by the black-clothed individuals.
After a thorough check, Mu Jin found that Mo Yi had numerous wounds, mostly superficial. However, the young man in his arms was clearly in a bad condition—pale face, large beads of sweat on his forehead.
The intense blood aura around them had triggered Mo Yi’s blood curse, and Mu Jin had already used up the pills to suppress the venom in Mo Yi’s body. Mu Jin had only obtained blood yesterday, thinking he would refine it later in the evening, but the sudden outbreak of Mo Yi’s blood curse caught him off guard.
Seeing Mo Yi in pain, Mu Jin couldn’t care less. He quickly pulled out a dagger from his waist, swiftly slashed his wrist, and brought it to Mo Yi’s mouth.
Sensing the familiar scent of the person beside him, Mo Yi subconsciously relaxed his body. The warm liquid fed into his mouth, carrying a slightly bitter lotus leaf fragrance and the sweet taste of blood.
In just a moment, his boiling blood seemed to cool down. Instinctively opening his mouth, he eagerly sucked in the fresh blood.
After a while, the pain was finally suppressed, and Mo Yi completely fell into a deep sleep.
Seeing Mo Yi lose consciousness in his arms but evidently no longer tormented by the blood curse, Mu Jin finally breathed a sigh of relief. Worriedly, he touched the young man’s forehead.
Only when 003 reminded him in the sea of consciousness did he remember to bandage his wound. They were deep in the autumn hunting ground, far from the camp, and Mu Jin’s horse had long disappeared.
Mo Yi was much larger than him. Mu Jin knew that relying on his strength alone in this small world, carrying him back to the camp was impossible.
The Forbidden Army in the camp must be searching for them everywhere, but the location of their encounter was quite remote, and it would take some time for them to be found.
So, with great effort, Mu Jin carried Mo Yi to the upstream of the river, finding a secluded place. He cut down many branches from the dense surroundings, built a makeshift shelter, and finally laid the young man inside to rest.
After a long time, when the sky was completely dark, Mo Yi slowly woke up. Seeing his child open his eyes, Mu Jin immediately carefully helped him up and gave him some pre-prepared clean water.
After drinking the water, Mo Yi finally fully regained consciousness. However, recalling the scene before he passed out and meeting Mu Jin’s gaze, he couldn’t help but feel anxious.
Mo Yi stared fixedly at the person in front of him, fearing to see any disgust or fear on Mu Jin’s face. Yet, Brother Jin continued to care for him as usual, as if nothing had happened.
Even so, Mo Yi couldn’t help but wonder about Mu Jin’s opinion of him. Trying hard to sit up straight, he looked at Mu Jin and said with difficulty, “Brother Jin, are you not afraid of me?”
