Chapter 50 – Affectionate
Qiao Huaiyao immediately narrowed his eyes and had a slight smile at the corner of his mouth. “You…”
His voice contained a smile, and he could only laugh without knowing what to say.
Bai Jinyan raised his hand to rub his head, but since he was wearing a hat, he settled for gently rubbing his cheek with his fingertips.
In these intimate gestures, his eyes were filled with Qiao Huaiyao’s image. “Let’s go, let’s go inside.”
“Okay.”
Qiao Huaiyao followed and entered the corridor; Bai Jinyan would wait outside when he went to the classroom.
The corridor was warm as the heating was on.
The small classroom’s windows were not visible from the outside.
Occasionally, students would pass by, but apart from that, there was no sound in the quiet corridor.
Qiao Huaiyao couldn’t help but think of the past when he and Bai Jinyan went to school together, sending assignments to the teacher’s office. Even for a few steps’ distance from the classroom to the teacher’s office, they would go together.

This time, Bai Jinyan might not go back with him. He would stay here at the school for a few days, handle things here, and then head to the drama group at No. 19 Middle School.
Actually, if Bai Jinyan didn’t often stay at the school, whether they were in the same university or not, it didn’t seem to make much of a difference.
Qingda’s chemistry department was more suitable for him.
Qiao Huaiyao opened the ticketing app; he didn’t have to go back for the start of school during the break, just going back the day before school started was enough.
If the timing allowed, he could even visit on the first day before the first class.
Qiao Huaiyao didn’t plan his schedule to be too tight, he just chose the latest flight of the day for his return to school.
Before parting, he couldn’t help but start counting the days until their next meeting.
Bai Jinyan discussed the contents of the document with the professor for a long time.
Qiao Huaiyao was in the corridor, watching the students playing basketball outside for two rounds, and by dinner time, the people had dispersed.
When Bai Jinyan came out of the classroom, it was already dark.
Qiao Huaiyao looked at the itinerary sent by Lu Lu on his phone. “Brother, just go to the celebration banquet directly.”
Going home first and then heading to a restaurant in the opposite direction would be more troublesome.
Going directly would save time.
Just after receiving the title of the Best Actor in a Dual Role, it wouldn’t be good to be late for the drama group’s celebration banquet the next day or to arrive late due to artistic processing. Such incidents might be classified as being arrogant in the entertainment news.
Bai Jinyan’s personality might not care about these things.
But Qiao Huaiyao didn’t want to give the gossip mill a chance to smear his brother.
As soon as it got dark, the temperature dropped. Bai Jinyan helped him adjust his coat. “No hurry, I’ll take you home first.”
Lu Lu opened the car door and overheard their discussion. When getting into the car, he couldn’t help but ask, “Are we going to your place or to the restaurant?”
Qiao Huaiyao spoke before Bai Jinyan could. “To the restaurant.”
“Alright.” With a clear answer, Lu Lu settled in and said, “Let’s go, master.”
Bai Jinyan helped him fasten the seatbelt. “It’s a bit far to the restaurant.”
Qiao Huaiyao smiled and said, “Take you to the restaurant, then have the driver take me home; it’s the same.”
Bai Jinyan rubbed his head and said nothing more.
It wasn’t very late yet, and there were people walking on the sidewalks on both sides of the road.
The timing was just right to avoid the peak traffic, and the driver was driving smoothly.
Qiao Huaiyao leaned back in his seat, occasionally looking out the window.
The car’s air conditioning was set to a constant temperature.
When he first got in, there was still a slight chill on him, but now the temperature inside the car was just right.
Qiao Huaiyao moved his fingertips and realized his left hand was being held by Bai Jinyan.
He glanced at Bai Jinyan, who was looking at his phone, and gently placed his hand back on Bai Jinyan’s hand.
It seemed that his subtle movement didn’t catch Bai Jinyan’s attention.
Bai Jinyan’s gaze didn’t leave the phone screen.
But his hand imitated Qiao Huaiyao’s and held Qiao Huaiyao’s hand in his palm once again.
Qiao Huaiyao raised an eyebrow, about to retract his hand, when Bai Jinyan grasped his hand and lightly kissed it.
After kissing the back of his hand, Bai Jinyan leaned in to kiss Qiao Huaiyao.
“Um…”
Qiao Huaiyao narrowed his eyes, a teasing smile in them.
Bai Jinyan opened the gear lever with his left hand; the backseat, which was already not lit, was even darker now.
The passing car lights outside the window made him notice the smile on Qiao Huaiyao’s face.
Bai Jinyan’s lips curved slightly as he pulled Qiao Huaiyao closer to him.
The drama group’s celebration banquet was held at a well-known local restaurant.
It was a bit far from the city center, in a somewhat remote location.
The car stopped at the entrance of the restaurant, and a security guard immediately came to help park.
Lu Lu waved his hand, indicating they didn’t need assistance.
Bai Jinyan got out of the car but didn’t go in immediately. He stood by the car door and said, “Be safe, send me a message when you get home.”
Qiao Huaiyao replied, “Okay.”
After that, Bai Jinyan raised his hand to support the car door and gently kissed Qiao Huaiyao on the lips. “Going now.”
Qiao Huaiyao chuckled softly. “Come back soon.”
“Yeah.” —
Lu Lu left after dropping Qiao Huaiyao off at home.
Qiao Huaiyao, seeming in a hurry as if he had something to do, didn’t keep him.
Qiao Huaiyao didn’t hurry to go upstairs; instead, he bought some fruits from the nearby small supermarket.
There were many types of hangover teas available online, with various ingredients being brewed.
