Chapter 46 – Change

Qiao Huaiyao widened his eyes in astonishment, tilting his head slightly in a passive manner, and a passionate kiss swallowed all the words he wanted to say. Trapped in the corner, in this tiny space, he couldn’t breathe properly and had to let the other person invade his lips and teeth.

The fingertips pressed against his shoulder gradually tightened, gripping firmly. Bai Jinyan placed one hand behind Qiao Huaiyao’s head and the other wrapped around his waist, pulling him closer.

“Brother, mmm…” Qiao Huaiyao squinted his eyes, but he could only make muffled sounds without uttering a word. The warmth on his lips seized all his thoughts, and the feeling of breathlessness in his chest made his face turn even redder.

Until Bai Jinyan released his lips, which had been passionately kissed, Qiao Huaiyao staggered back and fell into his arms. He lowered his head, resting his forehead against Bai Jinyan’s shoulder, breathing softly.

Bai Jinyan raised his hand to stroke Qiao Huaiyao’s hair by his ear and let his fingers brush against his earlobe, which had turned red with heat. He chuckled lightly, and the person in his arms hid even deeper.

Not knowing what was going on, Bai Jinyan wanted to tease him even more when he saw this reaction. “Your face looks…”

Qiao Huaiyao immediately reached out to cover his mouth and didn’t raise his head. He mumbled, “Don’t say it.”

His raised hand only half-heartedly covered his mouth and didn’t press down directly. Bai Jinyan lightly kissed his palm, and when Qiao Huaiyao suddenly withdrew his hand in surprise, Bai Jinyan kissed his slightly flushed lips.

Bai Jinyan said, “Get some rest.”

Qiao Huaiyao nodded, “Hmm, Brother…?” His voice suddenly rose at the end.

Bai Jinyan simply picked him up horizontally, but instead of carrying him back to Qiao Huaiyao’s bedroom, he walked into his own bedroom.

Qiao Huaiyao blinked lightly. “Brother?”

“Yeah,” Bai Jinyan replied calmly. He set Qiao Huaiyao down. “It’s been less than a minute since we finished. You were going to say something?”

Qiao Huaiyao bit his lip, wanting to protest but blushing instead. “I…”

When he glanced at the amusement in Bai Jinyan’s eyes, he cleared his throat and turned around, covering himself with the blanket and burying himself inside.

Bai Jinyan reached out to stroke Qiao Huaiyao’s head from under the blanket and then folded the edges of the blanket down neatly. He turned and went into the bathroom.

Although this house was only a temporary residence, Bai Jinyan wouldn’t let Qiao Huaiyao squeeze with him in such situations. The house had two bedrooms and large beds. Bringing Qiao Huaiyao to his bedroom to rest wouldn’t be a problem.

Qiao Huaiyao wrapped himself in the blanket and suddenly remembered something he forgot. He pretended to get out of bed, saying, “Brother, my phone is still in the other bedroom. I’ll go get it…”

“Turn around, look to your right,” Bai Jinyan walked into the bathroom and said calmly, “It’s on the bedside table.”

Qiao Huaiyao paused, realizing that Bai Jinyan had placed his phone there, and he hadn’t even noticed. He retrieved his phone and opened Weibo.

After logging into his alternate account, he didn’t rush to complete any activity tasks but opened his personal Weibo.

There were still no new posts, only two photos—one was the bouquet of roses Bai Jinyan had given him when the military training performance ended, and the other was the bouquet he had prepared for Bai Jinyan’s birthday.

Without the need for words, the meaning behind these two photos conveyed everything. Qiao Huaiyao smiled softly, enlarging and swiping between the two photos.

He didn’t use his main account much; his alternate account had more followers. Qiao Huaiyao thought for a moment and then upgraded to a VIP account, pinning this rose bouquet post to the top of his Weibo.

He exited the interface and re-entered it, so it would be the first thing people saw.

He noticed there were several messages in his chat app.

The class group and dormitory group had received quite a few messages.

The group also indicated that there were new files uploaded, probably the materials Qiu Shufeng and the others had been looking for.

Qiao Huaiyao suddenly remembered that he hadn’t finished his homework yet. He picked up his laptop and said, “Brother, I’m going to save my homework.”

His laptop was still on, and the PowerPoint presentation he was working on was open. After saving his progress, Qiao Huaiyao transferred the file to his phone.

When he came back, he saw Bai Jinyan leaving his bedroom with two sets of pajamas in his hands. Bai Jinyan handed the pajamas to him and said, “When you have time, bring your things over from your room.”

“Okay,” Qiao Huaiyao accepted the pajamas and then entered the bathroom.

Accustomed to rainy days, he wasn’t used to the bright sunshine on this side.

He closed his eyes, burying himself further inside.

When he felt a light touch on his consciousness, he suddenly paused, raised his head in confusion, and was surprised to find Bai Jinyan still there.

“Brother?” Qiao Huaiyao mumbled sleepily. “Why aren’t you out for your morning run?”

Bai Jinyan replied, “Mmm, didn’t go.”

He had time to go, but he didn’t feel like it.

Bai Jinyan opened his eyes and saw Qiao Huaiyao still in his arms, with his fingers curled slightly in front of him, sleeping peacefully.

He couldn’t take his eyes off his tranquil sleeping face.

He really didn’t want to leave this, but he was wide awake. So, he simply held him like this and waited for Qiao Huaiyao to wake up.

Qiao Huaiyao asked softly, “Is it late?”

“It’s still early,” Bai Jinyan pulled the blanket up a bit. “Go back to sleep; someone will take you there in the afternoon.”

Qiao Huaiyao didn’t need to get up early, so Bai Jinyan would quietly leave when it was time. “Mmm…”

Qiao Huaiyao breathed a sigh of relief, opened his eyes, and said, “I’ll go with you.”

He didn’t have much to do at home, and going with Bai Jinyan could help him with some tasks.

Bai Jinyan looked at Qiao Huaiyao, who was still half asleep, and couldn’t resist leaning down to kiss him. “Sleep for another ten minutes.”

Qiao Huaiyao nodded. Just waking up, he felt a bit groggy, and he realized that he was currently using Bai Jinyan’s arm as a pillow. He had squeezed Bai Jinyan to the edge of the bed, and there was plenty of empty space behind him.

Qiao Huaiyao tried to get out of Bai Jinyan’s embrace, saying, “Brother, come in a bit.”

Bai Jinyan hugged him tightly. “It’s okay; you won’t fall.”

Qiao Huaiyao said, “Isn’t your arm uncomfortable?”

He didn’t know how long his brother had lent his arm as a pillow. Bai Jinyan replied, “No, it’s not uncomfortable.”

Qiao Huaiyao lightly poked his arm with his fingertip, but Bai Jinyan’s expression remained unchanged. Bai Jinyan chuckled and brought Qiao Huaiyao’s hand to the back, wrapping it around his neck and giving him another kiss.

After waking up and lying in bed for a while, the slight drowsiness from just waking up had dissipated. Breakfast was prepared quickly and was simple since there weren’t many ingredients at home. Bai Jinyan just made something quickly.

Qiao Huaiyao opened a bag of snacks, stood beside Bai Jinyan, and occasionally fed him a piece while he cooked.

When breakfast was ready, Qiao Huaiyao set the table with bowls and chopsticks. Bai Jinyan handed him a cup of warm milk, saying, “Here, have some milk.”

Qiao Huaiyao, busy arranging the tableware, didn’t turn around to respond but reached out to take it. However, he found nothing in his hand.

He turned around in confusion and then felt a warm sensation on his lips.

At the same time, a cup of milk was placed in his hand.
