Top Stream Business – Chapter 30 Part 2

An ordinary student: [Guess who I saw during today’s intensive military training session? It’s #BaiJinyan#. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me due to exhaustion. I feel the joy of sharing the same university life with a star younger brother.]

With a Weibo post mentioning Bai Jinyan, the comment section was filled with fans. [I was about to call it staged, but then I realized it was during the big military training. Seeing Bai Jinyan here is even more normal than seeing him in a Bai Jinyan movie, right?]

[Oh, why keep a distance behind the security line? Why not hold hands? Are our CP fans forgotten?]

[Every day, I see sweet moments of Qiao Qiao and Bai Jinyan in others’ Weibo posts. When does the variety show start? Please, let it start soon and make me melt with sweetness.]

[Am I the only one who feels awkward seeing jogging during training? It reminds me of when I was exhausted to the point of throwing up during my own military training.]

[No big deal, I’m Bai Jinyan’s college classmate and dorm mate. The supervisor isn’t certified, whether it’s the same name or the same person.]

[Can’t you see Bai Jinyan?]

[…]

Weibo can be a heartrending place, so I uninstalled it.

Some fans who noticed this unofficial post also commented, [Don’t disturb Qiao Qiao’s student life, focus on his variety show. If you have any issues, please don’t trouble Bai Jinyan, don’t hurt Qiao Qiao.]

[Bai Jinyan says thank you, Living Buddha.]

Qiao Huaiyao saw this fan comment and couldn’t help but smile.

Bai Jinyan’s interactions with fans were quite complex, involving a lot of playful banter. It was strange at first, but after getting used to it, he found it amusing.

Sometimes, these fans tried to provoke Bai Jinyan, but they also protected him when facing criticism. This particular post had high engagement and the most likes.

The blogger replied, [No disturbance. Some classmates know that Qiao Huaiyao is Bai Jinyan’s brother, yet they haven’t approached him. Have faith in the character of college students!]

Qiao Huaiyao liked this response and saved the pictures and GIF.

Bai Jinyan had accompanied him during the training, and even though they didn’t leave much of an impression, having these images was nice.

Suddenly, Qiao Huaiyao froze. He recalled that there might be video footage of the training sessions.

He remembered seeing cameras on the instructors.

To prevent accidents during training, there were cameramen capturing footage.

It was a way to document the training, which would be included in their year’s training record.

Qiao Huaiyao thought for a moment and messaged Qiu Shufeng, “Is there video footage of the training session today? Is it with the supervisor?”

Qiu Shufeng replied, “Yes, but it’s not edited yet. It’s intermittent and needs to be cut into individual parts. It might take ten days or half a month to be ready.”

“Last year, it seemed like they didn’t release it at all. They just used clips. Want a copy? You don’t have to ask the supervisor. I’ll send it to you once it’s edited.”

Naturally, the footage wasn’t edited by the supervisor personally. They entrusted the task to students in their year. Qiao Huaiyao responded, “Thanks.”

“Don’t be polite. It’s a small thing. If you don’t ask me, I’ll still share it in the group once it’s edited.”

Putting down his phone, Bai Jinyan was still on a call. Qiao Huaiyao waved at him and motioned towards the bedroom, whispering, “Brother, I’ll go back to the room.”

Bai Jinyan covered the phone’s receiver, “Drink the milk.”

Qiao Huaiyao picked up the milk, “Sure.”

The morning flight was around noon. Tickets during normal daytime hours were pricier, but this time there weren’t many passengers at the airport.

Qiao Huaiyao sat on his suitcase, waiting for Bai Jinyan to complete the boarding process.

He occasionally shifted his weight and slid the suitcase to the side. He hadn’t gone far when Bai Jinyan grabbed the handle of the suitcase and brought it back. He ruffled Qiao Huaiyao’s hair as he passed.

Usually, assistants took care of these things when Bai Jinyan went out, but with Qiao Huaiyao present, he had taken a day off from his car service.

Once the boarding formalities were done, first-class passengers could board early. Bai Jinyan chose not to go ahead and didn’t enter the first-class lounge. Instead, he waited outside with Qiao Huaiyao.

When the boarding announcement played over the speakers, Bai Jinyan stood up.

Qiao Huaiyao pushed the suitcase ahead, saying, “Brother, remember to message me when you get home.”

“Okay.” Bai Jinyan took the suitcase, “Go back now.”

Qiao Huaiyao nodded and agreed, but he didn’t rush to leave. He watched Bai Jinyan walk up the boarding bridge before turning to leave. The afternoon training wouldn’t start until later.

Qiao Huaiyao didn’t know what to do at the hotel, so he decided to call a driver and head to the university. He went to his dorm room to prepare for his studies.

“I’m back, Study God.” When he heard the door open, Qiu Shufeng struggled to turn over on his bunk, waving down and greeting with his hand.

All three roommates were there. People who weren’t used to intense exercise often experienced extreme soreness the day after.

Qiao Huaiyao felt fine, but looking at his roommates, each lying on their bunks with minimal movement, he asked, “Is everyone okay? Do you need to go to the infirmary for some medicine?”

“I’m fine,” Wang Zhan replied weakly, “I just feel like my head has been transplanted onto someone else’s body.”

Wang Zhan lay half-prone on his bunk, leaning over its edge.

He poked his head out and added, “By the way, Study God, do you accept comic books? Someone asked me to pass them to you, but I didn’t dare bring them directly.”

Directly bringing them without asking might cause Qiao Huaiyao some trouble. Qiao Huaiyao replied calmly, “No, I don’t accept them.”

Wang Zhan breathed a sigh of relief, “I’m glad I didn’t agree. But come to think of it, why do you seem so calm when you hear about comic books? Did you receive a lot of them back in high school?”

Qiao Huaiyao didn’t elaborate. He heard a familiar voice from Wang Zhen’s phone and asked, “Are you watching a variety show?”

Wang Zhan replied, “Yes, it’s the show that you and Big Brother are hosting. I missed the live broadcast, but now I’m catching up on the edited version.”

“Haha, I told you so, Study God.” Speaking of this, Qiu Shufeng’s energy seemed to be fully restored.

He sat up, took a deep breath, and grinned at Qiao Huaiyao, “After he found out that Bai Jinyan is your big brother, he regretted not paying more attention to him. If he had, he would have known about the relationship between you and Bai Jinyan sooner.”

Qiu Shufeng burst into laughter, “So now he’s catching up on everything related to Bai Jinyan, whether it’s hot search topics or the release of a new show. He’s always paying attention.”

“Hot search topics?” Qiao Huaiyao raised an eyebrow, the first thing that caught his attention was this phrase, “My brother?”

He wasn’t aware of this. There had been numerous scandals involving celebrities in the entertainment industry.

However, Bai Jinyan seemed to have never been involved in any rumors or CP pairings since his debut. This was partly due to his age, and partly due to his temperament.
