The Frail Female Supporting Character and The Paranoid Villain Have a HE – Chapter 53

Fu Ling felt that Song Tan was a complete lunatic.

Judging by the time, she sent him the message first, and then the incident occurred.

In other words, she knew who would go after her and by what means.

Then, she didn’t take any action, or perhaps she did take action, but the other party still succeeded.

Whichever it was, it was too terrifying.

Previously, Fu Ling only thought that Song Tan was a weak, though somewhat clever, girl.

Now it seems…

She’s even more ruthless than Shen Yin.

Now Shen Yin has been sitting there silently for half a day, just sitting blankly at the door of the emergency room.

“Shen Yin, you…”

Fu Ling cursed inwardly : How the hell do I console him?

“Don’t let her heartfelt efforts go to waste.”

Fu Ling felt particularly cruel saying this now, but who made Song Tan hand over such a cruel matter to him?

Song Tan is a hundred times more cruel than him.

“Give it to me.”

Shen Yin seemed calmer than Fu Ling had imagined.

If it weren’t for Shen Yin’s voice being hoarse, one wouldn’t even notice that something was wrong with him.

Fu Ling wanted to give it to Shen Yin, but hesitated.

“Don’t act impulsively, Sister-in-law will be fine for sure.”

Shen Yin muttered as if in a daze, “Mm.”

Fu Ling handed over what Song Tan had given him to Shen Yin.

At that moment, the door of the emergency room opened.

Song Tan was pushed out.

She was wrapped in gauze all over her body, with only her face exposed.

She kept her eyes tightly closed, giving the impression that she was asleep.

“Tantan.” Shen Yin called out to her hoarsely.

But unlike at home, she didn’t wake up when he approached.

“The person has been temporarily rescued, but isn’t out of danger yet and needs to be observed in the ICU.”

With just a few glances, Song Tan was pushed into the ward again.

No one could enter unless necessary.

But this result already made Fu Ling breathe a sigh of relief.

“Shen Yin.”

Before the words were finished, Shen Yin’s expression turned cold, filled with chilling intent.

“I will make them pay.”

—All of them.

At Huo’s mansion.

Early in the morning, a group of police officers arrived at Huo’s mansion to make arrests.

As soon as Huo Chaoying appeared, he was handcuffed.

He was bewildered.

“Why are you handcuffing me?”

“Because you are suspected of hiring a hitman to commit murder.”

As soon as these words were spoken, the Huo family members looked at each other in disbelief.

Huo Chaoying hiring a hitman to commit murder?

This…

Huo Chaoying is Huo Yanlin’s father, not very involved in the company’s affairs. Without his son Huo Yanlin, he might not have much presence.

Such a mild-mannered person, hiring a hitman to commit murder?

“It’s impossible. Have you mistaken someone else?”

“Whether it’s a mistake or not, we’ll know after the interrogation.”

Apart from Huo Chaoying, the police also took away several other members of the Huo family, all of whom were unexpected individuals.

“I didn’t expect it. Huo Chaoying usually looks so gentle, but he could actually do such extreme things.”

“The gentler they appear, the more ruthless they are. Look at Shen Yin, isn’t it true?”

Everyone discussed fervently, their gaze falling on Huo Yanlin, making him particularly uncomfortable.

So much had been happening in his family recently, making it overwhelming for him.

And now his father was in trouble again…

Huo Yanlin frowned and went to find Old Master.

However, Old Master refused to see Huo Yanlin.

Why would Huo Chaoying act against Song Tan?

Isn’t it because he’s afraid that Old Master Huo will live too long?

For Huo Chaoying, Old Master’s Huo longevity is a disaster.

Although Old Master Huo didn’t meet Huo Yanlin, he met Shen Yin.

In just one day, Shen Yin seemed completely different from before.

There was stubble on his chin, and although his face didn’t show much expression, it gave off a feeling of utter despair.

“How’s Song Tan doing?”

The effects of the treatment Song Tan gave him were indeed remarkable. He’s been more awake lately and in better spirits.

“She’s still in the ICU.”

Old Master Huo looked regretful.

Shen Yin sneered.

“The person you’re protecting doesn’t want you to live.”

Although the old master agreed to Song Tan’s conditions, he continued to protect Huo Chaoying and didn’t expose him.

However, Huo Chaoying thought Old Master Huo was going to expose him, so he chose to strike first and kill Song Tan. If Song Tan died, Old Master Huo wouldn’t live much longer either.

Old Master Huo said, “I truly feel sorry for you.”

Shen Yin actually wanted to tear Old Master Huo apart.

But now, seeing Old Master Huo’s defeated expression, Shen Yin found it rather boring.

If Song Tan could wake up safely, his revenge or the truth of the past didn’t seem to matter much to him anymore.

He just wanted Song Tan to wake up.

Three days later.

Qiao Shengyuan received a package containing the recording of Huo Chaoying and Old Master Huo regarding Project An No. 1 years ago.

Huo Chaoying didn’t have Huo Yaqing’s intelligence; his mind was filled with money and company profits.

At first, Old Master Huo didn’t agree, but in the face of interests, who could resist temptation completely?

Father and son, along with more and more people, joined this circle.

Until Huo Yaqing checked the experimental data and found anomalies.

She was firmly against it, and to find a solution, she went to the United States alone.

The recording ended here, but what happened afterwards…

The subsequent events were recorded by the police.

“He said he was too scared at the time, so he did something foolish.
“I’ve already lost a daughter, I can’t afford to lose a son as well.”

Old Master Huo’s eyes welled up with tears as he spoke, but Shen Yin remained unmoved.

It seemed… he truly didn’t want to harm his own daughter.

But… judging by his attitude towards Shen Yin over the years, he might have entertained such thoughts.

A person who only values profit, how could they have a heart?

Shen Yin wore a wooden expression as he finished writing the transcript with them.

The truth he wanted had come out, but he wasn’t as happy as he had imagined.

In fact, his heart was filled with bitterness.

If Song Tan were here, she would definitely give him a faint smile and say, “Mission accomplished.”

She had a mischievous side to her; every time she did something naughty, she would watch his reaction with a smile.

He indulged her.

At first, it was to use her for his plan, but later, it was because he enjoyed seeing her doing tricks.

After they opened up to each other, whenever she came up with a mischievous idea, he would indulge her.

He indulged her too much, which was why she risked her life to use herself as bait to tempt Huo Chaoying into committing a crime.

When she woke up, he would definitely…

Definitely…

Right now, he just wanted her to wake up.

He didn’t know if it was because he hadn’t rested in the past few days, but now that everything was settled, Shen Yin felt like he was in a dreamlike state.

He dreamed of returning to the old mansion of the Song family.

It was raining lightly that day, the weather was chilly.

Shen Yin thought, “At this time, I should prepare a blanket for Song Tan.”

With that thought, Song Tan appeared in front of him.

She sat in a wheelchair, her face pale, almost devoid of color, looking extremely fragile.

Shen Yin furrowed his brow and criticized, “What’s going on? It’s so cold today, yet you’re dressed so lightly.”

Just as he was about to hug her, she raised her eyes and pointed to his side, “I choose him.”

Shen Yin followed her gaze.

It was Huo Yanlin.

Huo Yanlin, pointed out by her, seemed impatient.

He didn’t want to marry Song Tan.

He already had someone else in his heart.

But for the sake of his Grandpa, for his position in the Huo family, he still married Song Tan.

However, on the day of the wedding, he left her behind.

Shen Yin watched as Song Tan was left alone in the new house, but she didn’t seem disappointed.

She endured her physical discomfort and started writing something.

It seemed to be… a plan for opening a clinic.

He knew that Song Tan had been preparing to open a clinic all along, but he never expected it to happen on their wedding night…

Wait a minute, didn’t Song Tan marry him?

Shen Yin felt like the scene before his eyes was so real, as if it had actually happened.

But he remembered clearly that Song Tan had already married him.

So, the scene before him was all fake.

This must be a dream.

But for some reason, this dream felt so real.

He watched her in the dream, struggling in a marriage that existed in name only.

She was betrayed, manipulated, and abandoned.

But every time she was knocked down, she would plan for herself again.

She was like a cockroach that couldn’t be knocked down, appearing fragile yet so resilient.

The “Shen Yin” in the dream seemed unable to bear it either.

Although their relationship was nothing more than a passing encounter, “he” always seemed to do something for her behind the scenes.

Shen Yin chuckled softly.

What a coward he was, why didn’t “he” take the initiative?

If “he” had taken the initiative and pulled her out, she wouldn’t have struggled like that.

“If you were given another chance to choose, what would you do?”

At this moment, a voice sounded.

Shen Yin turned around but saw no one. The voice seemed to come out of thin air.

“Choose what?”

“Choose to go back to the moment you first met.”

The scene changed, and he found himself back at Song family’s old house on that rainy day.

He looked at Song Tan, who was missing a blanket, and said, “I would choose to find a blanket and cover her with it.”

Seemingly surprised by his answer, the voice fell silent for a few seconds before speaking again, “Just cover her with a blanket?”

Shen Yin remained silent.

“If it were me now, I would stand in front of her and take her hand. But if it were the me from before, I would make the same choices.”

“Do you feel disappointed hearing this answer?”

This was Song Tan’s first conversation with the main system.

The main system was much more imposing than 007. As soon as it appeared, it activated its ultimate move, and pulled people back into the original plot to experience it again.

Song Tan sneered at this behavior of reliving the original plot.

But she didn’t say it. After reading Shen Yin’s answer, she spoke, “Why would I be disappointed?”

“He didn’t firmly choose you.”

“Why should he firmly choose me?”

If Shen Yin had firmly chosen her, then he wouldn’t be the Shen Yin she liked.

“Love, it’s quite beautiful, but, in the face of love, we all have things we adhere to.”

Shen Yin stands for the justice of his parents.

She herself wouldn’t abandon everything for love either.

“You’ve been hurt like this for him, Song Tan, you’re quite cunning.”

The main system is supposed to be more sensitive than 007, catching the loopholes in Song Tan’s words and actions.

“Without 007, I wouldn’t make such a choice.”

She made the decision after ensuring her safety with 007.

Though it may seem crazy, as long as the result is good, it’s fine.

Song Tan was not sure if the main system was convinced by her reasoning, anyway, it hasn’t spoken for a long time.

But there’s one thing that has to be said : “The male and female leads you’ve chosen are indeed incredibly low-leveled.”

Main system : “…”

Song Tan: Here’s a suggestion to recall the male and female leads.

  1. Oh. So, the form of test which the system prepared for SY and the ori-main CP is this kind of “dream”. When the other authors also chose to let the ori-protagonist(s) see their original “fate”, few of them elaborate the reason for it. Mostly, it’s just to rub in the salt after their (ori-protagonist ‘s) downfall. It’s the first time I read such reason. Well done, Author. 😃
