The Frail Female Supporting Character and The Paranoid Villain Have a HE – Chapter 35

Song Zhiwen and his wife made a big fuss, and in the end, it was Huo Yanlin who took the initiative to apologize. He made many promises to Song Jiaojiao, making her happy, and the matter finally came to an end.

However, just with that fuss…

The gossip about Huo Yanlin leaving his newlywed wife on the day of the wedding, and causing his newlywed wife crying loudly at the wedding banquet to spread throughout the city.

Originally, over the past few days amidst the turmoil with two women, Huo Yanlin’s good reputation that he had built was ruined. Now, with Huo Yanlin causing this incident when getting married, he was already on the blacklist for many girls.

Huo Yanlin didn’t care, as he only cared about Su Ran.

As for the opinions of others, they were not important.

“Not important? Take a look at this, is it not important?”

Several companies cooperating with the Huo family were withdrawing their investments.

The leaders of these companies were all women.

“They probably saw that I got married and lost the chance, so they gave up.”

Hearing Huo Yanlin’s explanation, Old Master Huo was furious.

“Then explain to me about Qiao Shengyuan and the others.”

Although Qiao Shengyuan and the others were not in the business field, they had a high reputation in the pharmaceutical industry.

This time, when Huo Yanlin got married, he invited them back to help in the Huo family.

As a result, Huo Yanlin directly offended them.

“I haven’t seen them.”

Huo Yanlin didn’t remember these people at all.

Had he seen them?

Why didn’t he remember?

On that day, his mood was very bad, and he didn’t pay attention to Qiao Shengyuan or Zhang Shengyuan.

Huo Yanlin’s words directly made the old man faint.

The Huo family was in chaos again.

Meanwhile, Shen Yin, accompanied by Song Tan, had a meal with Qiao Shengyuan and others.

“When you were a child, I even held you.”

“Very similar, really too similar. You and your mother are like two peas in a pod.”

“Time flies, you’ve grown up so much.”

“Yeah, and you’re married now.”

Listening to the words of these uncles and aunts, Song Tan raised an eyebrow slightly and looked at Shen Yin.

Shen Yin smiled slightly, behaving very politely and obediently in front of these elders.

Acting.

It’s obvious that he’s pretending.

Shen Yin should have known the identity of this group of people early on, but he insisted on having them reveal their identity, saying they were friends of his parents. Then he ‘suddenly’ realized and invited them to have a meal outside.

During this time, they kept talking about the past.

Shen Yin listened silently, occasionally responding.

It was like during the New Year when relatives of parents came home, reminiscing about the past while teasing the children about how they were when they were young.

But when she thought about the fact that Shen Yin’s parents were no longer around, Song Tan’s heart trembled slightly.

Perhaps because they shared the same wound, they could empathize with each other.

Song Tan saw through his acting but didn’t expose it, quietly accompanying Shen Yin like a pet.

These uncles and aunts were quite interesting, and when they learned that her Grandpa was a traditional Chinese medicine doctor, they discussed some pharmaceutical knowledge with her.

Song Tan also had some knowledge of pharmacy.

When discussing with them, it was logical and well-founded, making Qiao Shengyuan and others very happy.

Originally, when they heard that Old Master Huo married Shen Yin and Song Tan to treat himself, they were extremely angry.

Isn’t this clearly using Shen Yin’s marriage to exchange benefits?

But seeing that Song Tan, though weak in appearance, behaved gracefully and was knowledgeable, sitting next to Shen Yin, the two were extremely compatible.

This reluctantly made them feel a bit better.

Song Tan chatted with them for quite a while.

But her health was really not good. After sitting for a while, her wristwatch started to remind her.

“I’ll take you to rest.”

Song Tan stopped him and said, “You chat with Uncle Qiao and the others; I’ll rest by myself.”

Song Tan knew very well that they had something to discuss.

Now that she had avoided them, they could talk openly.

Besides, she was really tired. Resting at this time was the best choice.

After explaining the reason to the others, Song Tan apologized and left.

Not long after she left, led by Qiao Shengyuan, they began discussing the Huo’s Project An No.1…

Song Tan didn’t use the monitoring function.

After finding a comfortable place to sit, she didn’t think about anything.

She decided to rest first.

Preserving her life was the most important thing.

Comforting herself this way, Song Tan hypnotized herself and fell asleep.

When Shen Yin came to find her, she was already fast asleep.

She had treated herself well, covering herself with a thick blanket while sleeping, so much so that her cheeks were rosy and translucent.

Very adorable.

Like an immature peach that makes people… want to take a bite.

Shen Yin fell silent.

He reached out, and as soon as his hand touched her cheek, she groggily opened her eyes.

It was genuinely a groggy state.

“Have you finished talking?” Because she had just woken up, her voice still carried a hint of confusion.

Quite cute.

“Hmm?” Song Tan wasn’t accustomed to others getting close to her, even when she was asleep. As soon as someone approached, she would instantly wake up.

But perhaps it was Shen Yin’s proximity to her already gave her a sense of familiarity. Now, she wouldn’t wake up abruptly from her dreams, but she would still be immediately alert.

However, she felt that Shen Yin seemed a bit strange.

His hand was still on her cheek, and despite her question, he didn’t respond.

Could it be that there was something on her face?

Song Yan touched her cheek and coincidentally touched Shen Yin’s hand.

Shen Yin snapped out of it.

“Yeah, they’ve already left.”

“And us?”

“Do you… want to go out and have some fun?”

After getting married, they hadn’t really gone out, let alone for leisure.

Song Tan had just rested for a while, and her body didn’t feel uncomfortable.

Now was a good time to go for a walk.

“Sure.”

Song Tan readily agreed.

Considering Song Tan’s delicate health, they didn’t go far but walked to a nearby park.

The park had excellent landscaping, and the air was remarkably fresh.

Song Tan breathed in the fresh air, smelled the fragrance of flowers in the air, and her eyes were filled with joy.

Shen Yin had been observing Song Tan’s state all along.

Song Tan, as a person, seemed like a treasure.

One that needed to be explored.

“Do you really like it here?”

Although Song Tan often smiled, it was rare to see her smiling so genuinely and sincerely.

“I quite like it. The scenery here is beautiful.”

Shen Yin looked around at the park, which wasn’t large in scale and didn’t have particularly stunning landscaping.

Was this enough to satisfy her?

“From now on, we can take a stroll together.”

Upon hearing these words, Song Tan was momentarily stunned.

When it came to talking about the future, could it be what she was thinking?

“Sure.”

Although Song Tan was not someone who liked to discuss the future, but…

Agreeing now wouldn’t hurt.

The smile on Song Tan’s face when she responded was particularly bright, making Shen Yin feel a bit dazzled.

Shen Yin responded with a simple “Hmm.”

In the future, he would take her out for a walk more often.

They didn’t stay outside for long.

Because they received news that Old Master Huo had fainted due to Huo Yanlin’s provocation.

Old Master Huo’s health was not good to begin with, and fainting like this could mean he might never wake up again.

Shen Yin and Song Tan exchanged a glance, said nothing more, and went straight back.

Today was originally Huo Yanlin’s wedding day, and many guests had come. Now, with the news of Old Master Huo fainting, many guests remained at the Huo residence, waiting to see when Old Master Huo would wake up.

“This is too much. How old is he? Doesn’t he know that Old Master’s health is not good?”

“I knew from the things he did today that he couldn’t handle the big responsibilities.”

“Exactly. If he takes charge of the Huo family and Huo’s company, it’s only a matter of time before they fall apart.”

In the crowd, people were whispering and discussing. Though their voices were relatively low, Song Tan, with her sharp hearing, caught every word.

It seemed that Huo Yanlin had done too many outrageous things recently, ruining his previously good reputation.

Before, when he caused trouble, it was just hearsay, and it was related to some gossip. People overlooked it. But today was different—they witnessed Huo Yanlin’s unruly behavior at the wedding.

True love or not, that wasn’t their concern.

Seeing him abandon the bride and cause her to cry in front of her parents…

That was one thing, but to infuriate Old Master to the point of fainting—people were now questioning his ability to lead the Huo family and clan.

The crowd didn’t say it out loud, but thoughts like these were forming in their minds.

Huo Yanlin was unaware of these discussions.

He kept a stern expression, waiting for Song Tan to return.

As Song Tan approached the door, Huo Yanlin moved to grab her arm. However, Shen Yin stepped in front, shielding Song Tan behind him.

“What do you want to do?” Shen Yin frowned as Huo Yanlin approached, not looking pleased.

Huo Yanlin was an extremely emotional person.

When his emotions surged, he felt like everyone should revolve around him.

In the past, he used to disdain getting angry with those around him.

The people around him were willing to indulge him, but he wasn’t willing.

Now, even less so.

“It’s about Grandpa’s life, and you can’t afford it if it’s lost.” Huo Yanlin’s eyes were red, as if he were exhausted from worrying about his Grandpa’s illness.

However, Shen Yin coldly sneered.

“What does Grandpa’s life have to do with Song Tan? Wasn’t it because of you that Grandpa fainted? “

Huo Yanlin pursed his lips at Shen Yin’s words. “It’s my fault, but now, I need Song Tan’s help.”

“What can Song Tan do?” Shen Yin glanced at Song Tan, still firmly shielding her behind him. “She’s not a doctor, and her own health is not good. If you need help, you should ask a doctor, not trouble her.”

Song Tan, protected by Shen Yin, remained silent.

Actually… what Huo Yanlin said was right.

According to the original plot, during Old Master Huo’s second fainting episode, she had helped save him.

She had followed her Grandpa since childhood, watching him treat illnesses and save lives. Although she hadn’t formally studied, she had more experience than many graduates from traditional Chinese medicine schools.

In the original plot, she had saved Old Master Huo once before.

But the outcome was that, despite her efforts to save him, Huo Yanlin used it as leverage against her.

She didn’t have a medical license and shouldn’t perform treatment.

  1. Lol. That’s a new deed of despicable I’ve ever heard. He (and practically the Huo) coerced her to treat his grandfather because she’s the best who knew how to treat the illness and save his life. But, he also used her lifesaving grace to blackmail her.

At most, most of the scheming CNs MC I’ve read were scheming the (going to be) villains to do something bad and/or crime(s). The crime wouldn’t hurt anyone much because the MC has already taken precautions. But, it wouldn’t benefit the MC much either. The only benefit they’d get was (were) being able to get rid of them (and some small benefits).
