The Escaping Little Snow White Ferret from the Black Moonlight Camp – Chapter 5

Chapter 5 – Sweetheart from the Sky: The Gentle CEO’s Sweet Kiss (5)

The sweet, soft voice trembled, filled with fear as terrifying images flooded Bai Mo’s imagination. He shook his head frantically, like a rattling drum, his wide eyes brimming with terror. To him, the gloved nurses were nothing less than demons in disguise.

A snow mink was incredibly agile—shoes? Who needed those? With a swift movement, Bai Mo shot out of the examination room like a blur. The turning nurses barely caught a fleeting afterimage before he was gone.

“Hey, come back…!” A nurse’s voice echoed from inside the examination room.

Seated outside, He Yuchi immediately stood up and caught the streak of light that had nearly disappeared.

“I don’t want a check-up! I won’t do it!” The boy’s delicate and beautiful face was streaked with tears, his watery eyes pleading as he gazed at He Yuchi. “I want to go home! I’m not sick! I just want to go home…”

His soft, choked sobs were exactly like the ones from that desperate phone call. Bai Mo’s heartbreaking cries made He Yuchi’s chest tighten with pain. If he could, he would gladly take Bai Mo’s place.

“Alright, alright, we’ll go home. Mo Mo isn’t sick. Let’s just do a quick check-up, then we can go back healthy and safe, okay?” He Yuchi coaxed gently.

But the boy clung tightly to He Yuchi’s collar, shaking his head adamantly in refusal.

“Dr. Crowe, this…” The nurses looked troubled by the uncooperative patient.

Dr. Crowe pulled out his usual set of tricks for calming down children, hoping to persuade Bai Mo, but the boy simply turned his head away and buried his face in He Yuchi’s chest. Not listening. Not budging. No check-up.

Crowe shot his friend a look, silently urging him to hurry up and pacify his “little friend.” Cutting in line for an examination was already bending the rules—there were still other patients waiting.

Meanwhile, Xiao Bobao had just returned after painstakingly filtering through the database to find a list of top-tier handsome men for Bai Mo, only to be completely dumbfounded by the scene before her.

Especially when she saw He Yuchi gently stroking Bai Mo’s back to comfort him.

Furious, she rolled up her sleeves.

“You bast*rd! Where do you think you’re putting your hands?!”

Not only had this so-called male lead framed Bai Mo before, but now he was going even further, bullying him?! Did he think she was dead or something?!

Xiao Bobao wasn’t the strongest system, but she had one excellent trait—she fiercely protected her own.

Bai Mo was the host she had chosen, which meant it was her duty to protect him. No one was allowed to bully him! This very trait had also led to her past failures—whenever her hosts were mistreated, she would fly into a rage and single-handedly take on both the protagonist and supporting characters, only to be backlashed by fate’s counterforce, causing the missions to fail.

She hovered in midair, gripping the scarecrow left behind by the Lord God in one hand, while the other held a silver-glowing needle.

She raised it, aiming straight at He Yuchi, prepared to stab.

Crowe knew this couldn’t continue and was just about to step in to help persuade Bai Mo when—

Fate’s protagonist halo activated.

In a split second, Crowe instinctively moved forward—right into Xiao Bobao’s line of fire.

Before she could react, her hand came down, and the needle stabbed Crowe instead.

Crowe only felt a light prick at the back of his neck.

Before he could utter a single word—

He fell into a deep sleep.

Everyone was startled as the “massive figure” collapsed beside He Yuchi. Bai Mo was so shocked that he froze in place, his reddened nose contrasting against his pale face. He looked just like a little kitten suffering from frostbite in winter—pitiful and utterly endearing.

“Dr. Crowe…!” The nurses hurriedly lifted Crowe and carried him to the break room.

Meanwhile, a nurse from the examination department stood at the doorway and asked, “Are we still proceeding with the check-up? There are many patients waiting in line.”

Bai Mo turned his face away stubbornly, refusing to speak. He was an Oriental snow ferret—he didn’t understand English and had no idea what the nurse was saying.

He Yuchi gently stroked the boy’s soft hair, his voice soothing.

“It wouldn’t be fair to keep the other patients waiting. How about we just do a quick check-up? It won’t take long at all. Or… is there something else bothering you? I’m your boyfriend—you can tell me, okay?”

The single word “boyfriend” sent a tingling sensation straight to Bai Mo’s heart. He lifted his gaze, his eyes hesitant, filled with quiet reliance on the only person he could trust.

“C-Can they not use a scalpel? I’m scared of pain…” His voice was soft and sticky, laced with an undeniable fear.

He really was a coward—white blade in, red blade out… How could he possibly survive that?!

“They won’t.” He Yuchi smiled gently, pulling Bai Mo into his embrace as he squeezed his hand reassuringly. “It’s just a simple check-up. I’ll be with you the whole time, okay? I promise it won’t hurt.”

Xiao Bobao, after scanning the medical equipment in the examination room, chimed in to help persuade him.

“Mo Mo, don’t be scared. I checked everything—it’s completely painless! Once we’re done, we can get discharged. And after the police finish their investigation and clear our names, I’ll introduce you to some cute guys~”

Between He Yuchi’s gentle coaxing and the system’s enticing offer, Bai Mo finally, albeit reluctantly, nodded.

Hand in hand, he let He Yuchi lead him into the examination room.
