The Escaping Little Snow White Ferret from the Black Moonlight Camp – Chapter 4

Chapter 4 – Sweetheart from the Sky: The Gentle CEO’s Sweet Kiss (4)

Three days later, Bai Mo opened his eyes, his clear and bright pupils filled with confusion.

Where was he?

“Mo Mo, you’re finally awake!” Bobao’s voice carried a sobbing tone, pulling Bai Mo’s consciousness back. “You’ve been unconscious for three days. You scared me to death! How do you feel now?”

During these three days, the system had performed hourly body scans on Bai Mo. Other than weakness, there were no issues, yet he still wouldn’t wake up. It had nearly driven the little system into a panic.

“Sorry for making you worry. How is the little one now?” A flash of the child’s fair little face crossed Bai Mo’s mind, and Bobao let out a huff.

“He’s doing just fine. You treated him so well, but he hasn’t come to see you even once!”

The system knew the truth—He Yuning had been kidnapped, and at such a young age, his mental state was bound to be affected. His parents had taken him to see a psychologist, and to prevent him from catching an illness, they had deliberately kept him from visiting Bai Mo.

Hearing that the child was safe and healthy, Bai Mo felt relieved. He chuckled at the sulking broadcast system and comforted it, “Alright, alright. He’s just a kid…”

“And who isn’t a kid?” the system retorted.

Bai Mo gently stroked the system’s little bear head with his mental power, soothing it for a long while before it finally calmed down.

However, when the system brought up how Bai Mo had thrown himself into He Yuchi’s arms and cried, Bai Mo looked completely bewildered.

“How is that possible? I’m supposed to clear my name and then find a handsome guy to date. Throwing myself into the male lead’s arms? Not a chance! You must have been seeing things—absolutely nothing of the sort happened!” Bai Mo denied it three times in a row.

After all, the male and female leads were officially designated by fate. Going against destiny? He wasn’t looking to shorten his days!

Bai Mo’s firm attitude made the system doubt whether it had really remembered wrong.

“Alright, alright, let’s stop talking about the male lead. Xiao Bobao, quickly scan the area—are there any handsome guys nearby?” When no one else was around, Bai Mo’s shameless love for good looks was on full display.

“There are some, but…”

“No ‘buts’! The male lead already has the female lead—what, am I supposed to wait around for him like some tragic first love?” According to Bai Mo’s plan, the further he stayed from the male lead, the better. If he didn’t get involved, he could avoid all trouble at the root.

“You’re the best, Xiao Bobao! Pretty please~~~”

Who could resist a little snow ferret’s begging? As a lover of all things cute, Bobao surrendered on the spot.

“Alright, alright…” The system dutifully pulled up photos of handsome men within a ten-mile radius for Bai Mo—strong and rugged policemen, sunny and warm doctors, gentle and elegant men… Bai Mo was dazzled, his heart blooming with delight.

Among all the photos, the one that captured Bai Mo’s heart the most was a refined and graceful Eastern-faced gentleman. His sharp, well-defined features, sword-like brows slanting towards his temples, deep and intelligent eyes, high-bridged nose, and slightly upturned thin lips exuded an aura of warmth and elegance. With his noble and reserved demeanor, he was the perfect embodiment of Bai Mo’s ideal type, both in looks and temperament.

But Bai Mo wasn’t just a shallow playboy—handsome men were nice to look at, but he only needed one.

Discarding the other photos, Bai sp Mo kept only the one he favored.

Decision made. It would be him.

“Xiao Bobao, five minutes. I want all the information on this man.” Bai Mo held the photo in both hands, his bright apricot eyes shimmering like the stars.

“Mo Mo, this person… he…” The system hesitated as it looked at the bright-eyed teenager, unsure whether to praise his taste or lament his inescapable fate. Of all people, Bai Mo had chosen the male lead.

Ding-dong—

As the doorbell rang, the door to the high-end private hospital room swung open. The gentle-looking man from the photo entered alongside a doctor. In person, he was even more striking than in the picture—his presence carried an undeniable visual impact.

“Ahhhhhh—Little System, I can handle this!” Bai Mo shouted internally, nearly sending the system into oblivion.

“Mo Mo, calm down.” The system clutched its metaphorical head, feeling its consciousness wavering. “His identity is complicated. He’s not someone you can mess with!”

“I’m so good-looking—there’s no one I can’t win over. Besides, my identity isn’t simple either.”

“He’s the male lead.”

“So what if he’s the male lead… Uh, male lead?” Bai Mo fell silent instantly.

His gaze landed on the man before him, who was smiling like a spring breeze. Without a word, Bai Mo discreetly pushed the photo under his pillow.

“Xiao Bobao, let’s pretend this never happened,” Bai Mo muttered, his heart aching like it had been torn apart. It was rare to find someone who matched his taste so perfectly—only to discover he was untouchable. Wu wu wu~~~

From the moment He Yuchi stepped in, the teenager’s shining eyes were hard to ignore. Watching this unfold, Dr. Crowe crossed his arms and smirked at his friend.

Oh? So this is your little sweetheart?’

He Yuchi felt his ears grow hot under Bai Mo’s gaze, his thin lips pressing into a firm line as joy surged in his chest. According to his investigation, before he lost his memory, he and Bai Mo had been mutually in love—only one confession away from making it official. If it weren’t for those despicable criminals, neither Mo Mo nor Xiao Ning would have suffered so much.

With that thought, He Yuchi’s expression softened even further, his gaze brimming with tenderness. Unfortunately, Bai Mo was too immersed in his own “heartbreak” to notice, his head lowered in despair.

The teenager’s expressions shifted rapidly—from delight to silence, then to utter devastation—all within half a minute, as if he had just endured the greatest tragedy in the world.

“Mo Mo, what’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?” He Yuchi swiftly crossed the distance between them in a few steps, placing a steady hand on Bai Mo’s back, his breath slowing in concern.

Bai Mo stared at He Yuchi’s flawless face, his mind momentarily clouded, completely entranced by the beauty of the Heaven’s Favored One.

“Mo Mo, tell me where you’re uncomfortable, okay?” The man reached out and gently placed his palm on the boy’s forehead, the fresh scent of grass and wood wrapping around Bai Mo. He took a deep breath, snapping out of his daze. Shrinking back slightly, he mumbled in a small voice, “I’m fine.”

Fine? That was impossible. The image of Bai Mo collapsing, pale-faced, in the phone booth was still fresh in He Yuchi’s mind. His expression darkened as he turned to call his friend over.

Dr. Crowe had initially planned to tease He Yuchi, but seeing his friend’s serious expression, he dropped the smirk and called for a nurse to bring a wheelchair, preparing for a full examination.

As the cold medical instruments gleamed under the hospital lights, Bai Mo swallowed hard. He instinctively disliked these things. They reminded him of the stories told by the animals he once lived with in the forest—tales of humans capturing creatures for experiments, slicing them open with sharp scalpels, extracting their organs, and keeping them alive with tubes, suffering endlessly in agony worse than death.

Just as Bai Mo was contemplating how to escape, a patient in the bed next to him pulled open the curtain. A middle-aged man, dressed in a hospital gown, slowly got out of bed. A tube was inserted in his nose, a urine bag hanging from the cane he leaned on.

In Bai Mo’s mind, the final thread holding his composure together snapped.

“I’m not doing the check-up! I’m not doing it!” Bai Mo cried out, panic rising in his voice.

‘The human world is terrifying. He wants to go home.’
