The Escaping Little Snow White Ferret from the Black Moonlight Camp – Chapter 3

Chapter 3 – Sweetheart from the Sky: The Gentle CEO’s Sweet Kiss (3)

A sudden clap of thunder rumbled through the sky over the streets of Country G. The evening dusk was heavy, and the chilly night wind carried a mist so thick it seemed almost tangible.

Inside the phone booth, the little boy shuddered at the sudden noise. He lifted his teary eyes, but all he could see were long, empty streets stretching endlessly in both directions.

“Brother Mo…” He Yuning whimpered in fear, curling up in the arms of the unconscious boy slumped against the phone booth’s interior. The cold wind whipped around them, and the dust it carried clung uncomfortably to his skin.

Boom—!” A bolt of lightning flashed across the sky. The boy clung tightly to Bai Mo, muttering under his breath.

“Don’t be scared, don’t be scared… I’m a man! Big Brother will be here soon… I have to protect Brother Mo…”

Before the call had cut off, He Yuning had heard his parents’ voices. He firmly believed that his mommy, daddy, and big brother would come to take him and Brother Mo home.

Clenching his tiny fists, his little face was full of determination. But when the wind slammed the phone booth door shut with a loud bang, his heart nearly stopped in fear. ‘Wuuu… Daddy, Mommy, Big Brother, why aren’t you here yet…?’

Dark storm clouds gathered overhead, and soon, torrential rain began to pour down, blurring his vision with heavy sheets of water.

Bobao, seeing it had only three energy strands left, gritted its metaphorical teeth and extracted one to activate the lowest-level protective shield. In an instant, a transparent barrier enveloped the phone booth, securely shielding Bai Mo and He Yuning.

Anything produced by the system was guaranteed to be top-quality—excluding the Dimensional Store, of course, since that belonged to other dimensions and had nothing to do with the system’s own built-in shop.

Though the shield was low-level, it had several useful functions. Passersby would unconsciously overlook the phone booth, it could block external harm, and it even isolated sound. If not for the fear that complete silence might frighten He Yuning, the broadcast system would have activated all its functions.

Before long, He Yuning noticed that, outside, there was only lightning but no thunder. The sound of the rain had softened, and the cold wind no longer seeped into the booth. Pressed against Bai Mo, he could feel the warmth of their shared body heat, making him feel much cozier.

Perhaps it was just his imagination, but Bai Mo’s face didn’t seem as pale as before.

“Brother Mo, wake up soon…” the little boy murmured softly.

Bobao kept a close watch on Bai Mo’s condition. Due to the loss of his life force, his body was weak, and he had developed a slight fever. Fortunately, he hadn’t been exposed to the wind, so it wasn’t too serious.

She glanced at the male lead, who had just boarded the plane. In five hours, He Yuchi would arrive, and both the host and the child would receive treatment.

However, one thing puzzled Bobao—according to the original plot, He Yuchi was supposed to have his leg broken by a blow. So why did he end up getting hit on the head and losing his memory instead?

No matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t figure it out. In the end, she simply let it go and focused on watching over Bai Mo and He Yuning.

Time flew by in the wind and rain.

Five hours wasn’t particularly long or short, but for He Yuchi, every second felt like an eternity. Sitting on the plane, he desperately tried to recall anything about the young boy, but no matter how hard he tried, he failed. His face, pale as paper, filled Father He and Mother He with distress—and resentment toward Bai Mo, whom they saw as an accomplice.

It had been four days since He Yuning’s disappearance. Important internal company data had been leaked, stock prices had plummeted, business partners had pulled out and sued them for breach of contract.

While struggling to manage the company’s crisis, Father He and Mother He were also searching for their missing youngest son and worrying about their eldest son’s condition in the hospital. Under such immense pressure, they had just discovered that Bai Mo was the one who had led people to attack He Yuchi—when suddenly, Bai Mo called them.

They tried calling back several times, but none of the calls went through. Unable to rest easy, the frantic Father He and Mother He decided to board a plane to Country G.

Inside the phone booth, Bai Mo, still unconscious, was not having an easy time. His body fluctuated between hot and cold as his mind was forcibly flooded with the original host’s memories.

He relived every moment of the original host’s life—the bitterness, the pain, the humiliation. The beatings from his parents, the scornful looks from classmates, the disdain from neighbors, the servile bowing while working low-end jobs, the fear of being held hostage and forced to lead the way into the male lead’s home…

Bai Mo screamed soundlessly, powerless to resist as he watched He Yuchi get struck in the head by the rival family’s thugs, their hands ransacking the study, himself being taken onto a plane, and the vile, wicked grin of the repulsive man…

“No—!” Bai Mo jolted awake with a shout, cold sweat dripping from his forehead, making his already pale face look even more ashen.

“Borther Mo~” He Yuning gasped in delight. Seeing Bai Mo finally awake eased much of his fear from being stranded in the stormy streets. He snuggled close, wrapping his chubby little arms around Bai Mo’s neck and rubbing his soft, round cheeks against him, expressing his joy and affection.

The dream had been too vivid. Bai Mo’s heart was still pounding like a drum, his body trembling from lingering fear. When the child leaned into him, he was momentarily dazed. Only when the faint scent of milk drifted into his nose did the thunderous pounding in his chest gradually settle down.

“I’m fine. Sorry for making you worry.” Bai Mo held the child in his arms, comforting him while simultaneously recounting the scenes from his dream to Bobao system in his consciousness.

Bobao finally understood the reason behind the male lead’s memory loss. She couldn’t help but feel excited—this incident wasn’t caused by the “White Moonlight,” Bai Mo had saved the child, and there was now hope for his redemption.

“Mo Mo, are you still feeling unwell? Your body is weak. Close your eyes and rest for a while. I’ll keep watch over you.” Although Bobao was focused on completing its mission, it was even more concerned about Bai Mo. Missions were rigid, but people were alive—the plot had changed, and the male lead was now coming to personally pick them up. She could already sense the powerful energy fluctuations of the “Son of Destiny,” He Yuchi. This time, things were looking good.

Bai Mo nodded, first coaxing the child in his arms to sleep. He stared absentmindedly at the rain-drenched street outside for a while, but ultimately, his exhausted body won the battle. Leaning against the cold metal wall of the phone booth, he slowly drifted into sleep.

He slept for a full five hours.

The torrential downpour seemed endless. He Yuchi managed to contact the local police, but they advised him to wait until the rain stopped before heading out.

Others could afford to wait—He Yuchi could not.

After obtaining the phone booth’s coordinates, he donned a raincoat and set out into the storm. He Father accompanied him, while He Mother, due to her poor health, remained at the police station to stay in contact.

Inside the system, energy fluctuations trembled violently. Bobao lifted its gaze and saw shadows gradually emerging on the rain-blurred horizon. As the figures drew closer, their faces became clearer—it was the male lead.

He Yuchi had arrived.

Bobao system quickly woke Bai Mo. After ensuring He Yuning was well-protected, it deactivated the protective shield, making the dark red phone booth instantly visible again.

“This is the place.” The rescue personnel opened the phone booth door, revealing the curled-up figures of one large and one small person inside.

The harsh flashlight beam stung the boy’s eyes, causing him to lift his hand to shield them. At the same time, a soft, childlike voice rang in his ears.

“Daddy~” The little boy wriggled, struggling to return to his father’s embrace.

“Xiao Ning!” Father He hurriedly scooped He Yuning into his arms. Only after confirming that his son was unharmed did his tense nerves finally relax.

The child appeared lively and energetic, while the teenager beside him looked pitiful and frail in stark contrast.

Rain had splashed into the booth, soaking the boy’s clothes and making them cling to his thin frame. His damp hair dripped with water, his face was deathly pale, and the corners of his eyes were tinged with a faint red. His pearly teeth bit down on his lower lip, making him look helpless and forlorn. Beside him, the father and son were joyfully reunited, further emphasizing his isolation.

The teenager He Yuchi had been searching for was now right in front of him—so close he could reach out and touch him.

“Don’t be afraid. I’m here.”

The man gently wiped the boy’s dripping hair with a clean towel, his breathing steadying, his eyes filled with distress. “I’m late…”

At first, Bai Mo had been holding back, but as soon as He Yuchi spoke, a lump formed in his throat. His beautiful apricot eyes quickly welled up with tears, and mixed with the rain, they spilled down his face.

“I waited for you for so long~” His voice, hoarse from hunger, carried a soft, petulant tone. The tears blurred his vision, and the redness in his eyes spread downward, adding a fragile beauty to his pale face.

A pang of sourness surged through He Yuchi’s heart, consuming him completely. He pulled the boy into his embrace and gently kissed his forehead. “I’m sorry… I’m sorry…”

Bobao detected a strange energy fluctuation—so fleeting that she couldn’t determine what it was. However, the emotional state of the two individuals was undeniably abnormal.

To outsiders, He Yuchi and Bai Mo’s actions weren’t unusual. After all, their relationship had always been close, just one step away from breaking through the unspoken barrier between them. But Bai Mo had arrived later, and He Yuchi had lost his memories—they were, in essence, strangers now.

“Mo Mo, Mo Mo, wake up.” Bobao called out, but Bai Mo remained unresponsive. She sensed an unusual fluctuation in his spiritual energy, likely due to the energy replenishment caused by the shift in the plot. To prevent any uncontrollable risks, she made a swift decision—knocking Bai Mo unconscious.

The teenager collapsed once again, terrifying the child, who burst into loud wails. “Brother Mo ! Brother Mo!”

“Quick, get him to the hospital.” Father He instructed the police to bring over two extra raincoats. It was clear that Bai Mo had been protecting He Yuning all along. In such circumstances, Father He found it impossible to hold any resentment toward the frail boy.

He Yuchi’s actions were even faster than Father He’s instructions. He swiftly took off his raincoat and wrapped it tightly around the boy before picking him up and rushing toward the parked car.
