The Escaping Little Snow White Ferret from the Black Moonlight Camp – Chapter 15

Chapter 15 – Sweetheart from the Sky: The Gentle CEO’s Sweet Kiss (15)

The atmosphere grew increasingly awkward. He Yuchi had never been so blunt, and even Mother He was at a loss for words on how to ease the tension.

Suddenly, Dan Sihou spoke up.

“Bai Mo, this might sound abrupt, but I want to ask—were you adopted?”

The man’s sharp gaze locked onto the young boy peeking out from behind He Yuchi, determined not to miss a single expression on his face.

Bai Mo’s expression turned odd.

How did Dan Sihou know that the original owner of this body had been taken in by that pair of bloodsucking parasites? Was this just a lucky guess?

Seeing Bai Mo suddenly deep in thought, a flicker of hope ignited in Dan Sihou’s heart.

The more he looked at Bai Mo, the more he saw his mother’s features in him.

After seventeen years, could it be?

Had he finally found his lost younger brother?

Xiao Bobao quickly flipped through the character profiles and discovered that Dan Sihou did, in fact, have a missing younger brother—his biological sibling.

His brother had gone missing when he was only five years old. Their mother, devastated by grief, had fallen into depression and eventually passed away.

Losing his brother had been a deep regret buried in Dan Sihou’s heart, a pain he had carried for years.

“Mo Mo is Xiao Nian?”

Mother He gasped in disbelief.

She pulled Bai Mo closer, studying his features carefully.

That familiar face, which had always seemed somehow recognizable—the more she looked at him, the more he resembled her old friend.

That’s it!

No wonder she had felt an instant connection with Bai Mo when she first met him.

If he really was Xiao Nian…

“Mo Mo, tell me, are you your parents’ biological son?”

What kind of parents treat their child like garbage?

If Bai Mo wasn’t actually their son, then everything suddenly made sense.

But in Bai Mo’s inherited memories, this part of the past was completely missing.

All he knew was that the original owner of this body had suffered a severe fever when he was young, leaving him with no memory of his early years.

And in the original storyline, there was no mention of Dan Sihou ever finding his long-lost brother.

Even Xiao Bobao wasn’t sure if its host was truly the male supporting character’s sibling.

But if it’s true, then where would that leave the female lead?!

Xiao Bobao suddenly got excited.

“Mo Mo, modern human medical technology is very advanced! You can go with Dan Sihou for a DNA test!”

Dan Sihou was still holding back his emotions, but Mother He’s excitement was written all over her face.

Seeing Bai Mo overwhelmed, He Yuchi stepped forward protectively.

“Mom, you’re scaring Mo Mo.”

“I got carried away,” Mother He admitted, taking a deep breath.

She softened her tone and reached for Bai Mo’s hand.

“Mo Mo, come sit down. Let’s talk, okay?”

She looked at him with hopeful eyes.

Who could reject such a kind-hearted elder?

Certainly not Bai Mo.

He nodded, sat down with his legs pressed together, and placed his hands neatly on his lap—his posture perfectly well-behaved.

“My grandparents picked me up and raised me,” Bai Mo said honestly.

“But whether I am Xiao Nian or not, I don’t know~”

His gaze shifted toward Dan Sihou.

“Sir, is Xiao Nian your family?”

He paused, then suggested,

“Perhaps we could take a DNA test.”

Dan Sihou had exactly the same thought. He was still wondering how to convince Bai Mo, but to his surprise, the understanding young boy had suggested it himself.

“Alright, let’s go now.”

Dan Sihou noticed the slight flinch in Bai Mo’s posture. His business-hardened heart, usually cold and unyielding, softened instinctively. Even his voice gentled a little.

“I’m sorry. Xiao Nian is my younger brother. He went missing seventeen years ago, and my mother passed away from depression because of it. I’ve been searching for him ever since.”

“I understand,” Bai Mo responded sympathetically.

But despite his words, he shrank further into He Yuchi’s embrace, his small hands clutching tightly onto the man’s sleeve.

Wuwuwu, Xiao Bobao… do humans need surgery for DNA tests? Will it hurt a lot?

Just thinking about the hospital made Bai Mo feel uneasy.

He hated hospitals.

He hated the strong, sterile scent of disinfectant.

But since he had already agreed, he couldn’t just back out now.

“It’s not that serious! At most, it’s just a blood test. It’s really no big deal, don’t panic.”

Xiao Bobao dismissed his fears as overly dramatic.

“It won’t even hurt.”

But the moment Bai Mo heard “blood test”, his mind went blank.

His overactive imagination immediately painted a horrifying scene:

A huge basin, filled to the brim with his blood…

And then—he would become the first dried-out ferret in history.

A shiver ran down his spine, and regret settled deep in his heart.

“Mo Mo, what’s wrong?”

He Yuchi was the first to notice Bai Mo’s abnormal reaction.

The young boy’s face had gone completely pale, looking as if it had been painted over with white oil—so frightfully pale that it was alarming.

“Brother Yuchi… I-I don’t want to have my blood drawn… I’m scared of pain…”

His red-rimmed eyes made him look vulnerable, and he nervously edged away, his fingers already reaching for the car door handle.

He Yuchi had no doubt that if he wasn’t holding onto Bai Mo, the boy would probably jump out of the moving car at any moment.

“Don’t be scared. It won’t hurt. We don’t have to do the blood test if you don’t want to.”

He Yuchi quickly pulled him back into his arms.

He suddenly recalled a past incident at the hospital—when they had merely asked Bai Mo to undergo a routine check-up, and he had cried as if the sky were falling.

Back then, He Yuchi had found it amusing, but mostly, it broke his heart.

Just how much had Mo Mo suffered in the past to become this terrified?

Bai Mo’s mind was completely focused on He Yuchi’s words—“We don’t have to draw blood.”

But he was still afraid that Yuchi was just coaxing him. His soft, sweet voice trembled with uncertainty as he asked, “R-Really?”

As long as they didn’t have to draw blood or perform surgery, he could handle anything.

“Really, I promise.”

He Yuchi gently stroked the boy’s hair. As the car came to a stop, he even pinched Bai Mo’s slightly chubbier cheeks, teasingly adding, “My legs are long. If they try to take your blood, I’ll just pick you up and sprint a hundred meters away!”

The little snow ferret couldn’t help but laugh at Yuchi’s joke.

To be honest, if it came down to a race, He Yuchi might not even be able to outrun him.

But Bai Mo’s relief didn’t last long.

The moment they reached the sampling room, he froze.

On a nearby tray, the cold, silver instruments gleamed under the light.

A young child, having just had his blood drawn, was wailing uncontrollably.

At that moment, Bai Mo felt like he couldn’t do it anymore.

He wanted to turn around and flee, but—

His legs had gone weak.

“Bro-Brother Y-Yuchi… R-Run… RUUUNNN~~~”

His trembling, tearful voice stirred pity in those around them.

Some of the passersby—men and women, middle-aged and young alike—looked at their group with sympathetic gazes.

Most people here were getting paternity tests.

Looking at Bai Mo’s terrified expression, they assumed he must have just found out that he might not be his parents’ biological child.

How devastating that must be.

But then again, the parents probably felt equally heartbroken—raising a child with love and care, only to one day discover that he might not be theirs by blood.

A pain that cut both ways.

“Mo Mo, don’t be scared. I’m right here. We won’t draw blood. We won’t draw blood.”

He Yuchi felt a sharp pain as Bai Mo gripped his arm tightly, leaving deep red marks on his skin.

Yet, he didn’t even flinch.

Instead, he soothed the trembling boy, gently patting his back.

“It’s okay, I promise. Mo Mo, just relax.”

Seeing Bai Mo so frightened made He Yuchi’s heart ache.

He lifted his gaze to Dan Sihou, who had already rolled up his sleeve, ready for the blood test.

“Mo Mo is afraid of blood,” He Yuchi stated firmly. “Use his hair for the DNA test instead.”

Then, he turned to the nurse and asked, “Miss Nurse, is that possible?”

The nurse paused for a moment, then looked at Bai Mo’s tear-streaked yet delicate face and nodded.

“Yes, that’s fine.”

Finally, hearing the nurse’s confirmation, the little snow ferret, who had been so scared he could barely breathe, finally relaxed.

He beamed at the nurse, his voice soft and sweet: “As long as you don’t draw blood, you can take as much hair as you want~”

After all—

It’s just hair. It grows back fast.

The big teary dumpling, with his red nose, gave a shy little smile—

And in an instant, he completely melted the nurse’s heart.

Her heartbeat quickened, and she looked at him with an auntie-like grin.

“You said it~”

But… what if we just shave it all off?

Her smile—it was like the Big Bad Wolf pretending to be Little Red Riding Hood’s grandma.

Bai Mo: QWQ

He regretted everything.

That was just a joke!

Can he take back what he said? Please?
