Chapter 13 – Sweetheart from the Sky: The Gentle CEO’s Sweet Kiss (13)
Bai Mo’s eager anticipation was mercilessly interrupted. Just as He Yuchi was about to “bully” Brother Mo again, little He Yuning pursed his lips and let out a wailing cry—a scream so loud that Bai Mo nearly left this world.
“Ning Ning?” Bai Mo blinked in confusion. “Why are you here?” Previously, He Yuchi had blocked his view, so Bai Mo hadn’t noticed the child’s arrival.
He Yuning’s hand, which had been tugging at Bai Mo’s shirt, suddenly paused. Was his presence really that insignificant?!
Even though Bai Mo seemed annoyed by him, He Yuning still stubbornly climbed onto Bai Mo’s lap, determined to protect his Brother Mo at all costs.
No one was allowed to bully his Brother Mo—not even his own big brother.
He Yuning was scooped up into Bai Mo’s arms, and with the stance of a true protector, he glared angrily at He Yuchi. Starting today, he would keep a close eye on his brother and never give him the chance to “misbehave” again.
With a three-year-old present, any romantic atmosphere was instantly obliterated. No matter how much Bai Mo enjoyed the thrill of pleasure, he couldn’t possibly do anything in front of a little child.
This was definitely not something a baby should be witnessing.
Mother He had been looking for He Yuning, and upon following the sound of crying downstairs, she finally found him—clinging tightly to Bai Mo. Both of them had flushed red faces, and Bai Mo’s lips were swollen. Seeing this, Mother He immediately concluded that her eldest son was making good progress.
She was not the type of elder to be closed-minded.
On the contrary, her generation had lived through hardship, and she herself had endured a difficult life in her early years.
Only after relentless effort did she make it out of a rural village and into the big city. Yet, even then, her elders had tried to dictate her life, arguing that as a girl who would eventually marry out of the family, she had no right to her own choices.
She had fought hard to escape that fate, to become independent and strong, and in the end, she met and fell in love with He Yuchi’s father.
After learning about Bai Mo’s background, Mother He couldn’t help but see her past self in the boy—alone, without anyone to rely on, yet kind and resilient, refusing to bow to fate.
That made her instinctively want to protect him. If Yu Chi and Bai Mo could be together, that would be wonderful. If not, as long as Bai Mo lived a happy life, that was all that mattered.
“Ning Ning, come here. Your Brother Mo is tired from his exams, you should be considerate of him.”
The moment an adult appeared, He Yuning’s eyes lit up. Even his big brother had to listen to their mom! He immediately ran over to her and began whispering in her ear:
“Mama, Big brother bit Brother Mo’s mouth! Brother Mo even cried! Big Brother is a bad guy!”
Hearing this, Madam He glanced back at the two young men with an amused look, then picked up He Yuning and started heading upstairs.
“When grown-ups fight, kids should stay out of it. Come on, let’s run away—”
Bai Mo: “!” Fight? What fight? He didn’t fight He Yuchi at all!
The meaningful glance Mother He shot him before leaving made Bai Mo’s face burn with embarrassment. Auntie, you’ve got it all wrong…
Being a naturally well-behaved boy, Bai Mo suddenly began to worry. The kiss he had just started enjoying was completely pushed out of his mind.
“Xiao Bobao, do you think Auntie is mad at me?” Always one to seek help when in doubt, Bai Mo immediately turned to his system for answers.
Xiao Bobao casually turned off its camera feed and cleared its throat. “Nope. She’s way too happy for that.”
“Huh?” Bai Mo furrowed his brows. Humans are so hard to understand.
After He Yuchi walked him back to his room, Bai Mo tugged at his sleeve, not letting him leave. His gaze fixated on the man’s toned abdomen, the meaning behind it obvious.
He Yuchi’s body stiffened. But he didn’t refuse. Instead, he let Bai Mo do as he pleased.
Bai Mo tried everything to seduce He Yuchi, but the man still didn’t react. Was his charm not strong enough? Did he not care about his pride?
Feeling humiliated, the little ferret became both embarrassed and angry. He immediately kicked He Yuchi out of the room—if he wasn’t going to kiss him, then he should just get lost and stop wasting his time!
Outside the door, the man let out a bitter smile. His gentle features were filled with loneliness and pain. He silently opened his mouth, as if wanting to say something, but in the end, no words came out.
About half an hour later, the room had gone completely silent. A cold draft seeped out through the gap beneath the door. He Yuchi took a deep breath, turned the handle, and stepped inside.
The boy had fallen asleep on the bed, his little backside sticking up slightly. The air conditioner was set to twenty-four degrees, blowing directly toward the bed.
He Yuchi walked over and carefully adjusted Bai Mo’s sleeping position before pulling the blanket over his stomach.
Animals have sharp instincts. Even in his sleep, Bai Mo could sense something and forced his sleepy eyes open. The first thing he saw was the man’s sexy jawline and slightly flushed, thin lips.
Lips… kissing… happiness…
Scattered words floated through the little ferret’s hazy mind. His body moved faster than his thoughts—wrapping his arms around the man’s neck, he tilted his head up and planted a big, loud smack on those lips.
Hmm, no reaction. Let’s try again.
“Smooch!” Another loud, exaggerated kiss. Bai Mo giggled, rubbing his head against the man’s shoulder. Hehe~ Male lead, just surrender to me. Let me cuddle you. I’m the most beautiful ferret in my entire clan—you’ve hit the jackpot!
Believing he was in a dream, Bai Mo acted without restraint. In his dreams, he was all-powerful, which meant this male lead had no choice but to submit to him today.
“Mo Mo…” He Yuchi’s voice was hoarse. “Don’t do this. You don’t have to do this.”
Do what? Bai Mo looked up, his watery eyes filled with confusion. It was just a couple of kisses. If he didn’t like it, then I’d stop. But why does he look so devastated? It’s not like I’m some forceful ferret who’d make him do anything against his will.
“If you don’t like me, fine, I’ll just find someone else~” Bai Mo mumbled, stretching out his foot to kick the man off the bed.
“Hey, let go of me~” The boy pouted and wriggled as He Yuchi grabbed his ankle. His round little toes wiggled slightly, looking utterly adorable.
“I never said I don’t like you.”
He Yuchi leaned over, pressing Bai Mo down beneath him. Their faces were now less than five centimeters apart. Bai Mo felt an excited thrill rush through him but still put on a haughty, indifferent expression.
“If you won’t let me kiss you, then that’s not—mmph~”
Since words weren’t enough, He Yuchi decided to prove his feelings through action. His gradually intensifying kisses made Bai Mo truly feel what it meant to be deeply loved.
“Even though I’ve lost my past memories, my heart still remembers what it feels like to love you.”
He Yuchi took Bai Mo’s hand and placed it over his heart, which pounded so hard it seemed like it might burst from his chest.
“Then… I’ll give you one more chance,” the little ferret shyly murmured, his brows arching with sweetness. “But if you ever treat me badly, I’ll find someone else~”
“And for the record, I was never bullied by that ugly man. If anything, I was the one beating him up.”
Bai Mo had only just learned from the system’s Xiao Bobao that He Yuchi’s sudden self-punishment—slapping himself—was because he mistakenly thought Bai Mo had been taken advantage of by that disgusting man. As if! Bai Mo had excellent taste and would never stoop so low.
He Yuchi froze for a moment, suddenly recalling Bai Mo’s medical examination report. The dark cloud hanging over his heart instantly lifted. As long as he wasn’t hurt… That’s all that matters.
Meanwhile, Xiao Bobao—who had always opposed the host getting together with the male lead—was currently shoveling handfuls of metaphorical “dog food” into its mouth while filming the scene.
Yes, give me more! I don’t care if I overeat. I’m an adult system—there’s nothing I can’t handle!
In the end, Xiao Bobao failed to capture any restricted scenes. While part of the reason was He Yuchi’s restraint and respect for Bai Mo, the system believed the bigger culprit was He Yuning. Distrustful of his own older brother, the child once again stomped over with his little legs to act as a supervisor.
“Is Brother Mo here?”
The clever child dragged over a small stool, stepped on it, and pushed the door open. His round head peeked inside, his face full of an “I knew it!” expression. Fortunately, his older brother hadn’t bullied Brother Mo.
For yet another time, Bai Mo’s plans for intimacy had failed. He shot a resentful glance at He Yuchi. “Why didn’t you lock the door when you came in?”
He Yuchi also thought his little brother deserved a spanking. Wrapping his arms around the boy, he pulled the blanket over them to cover their slightly disheveled clothes. His breath slightly unsteady, he murmured, “Next time for sure.”
